ACLS for Experienced Providers(ACLS EP)
ACLS EPThe goal of this course is to improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory/metabolic,
toxicologic and other emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines using critical thinking and
decision-making strategies.
Who should attend?• Advanced practitioners who are very familiar and
comfortable with the ACLS algorithms and have been through ACLS several times; also, those who regularly participate in resuscitations
• Paramedics, code team MDs, RN’s, flight nurses and paramedics, ICU MDs and nurses, ER nurses and MDs
New course - new approach
Through facilitation and active participation in case-based scenarios, students strengthen their skills in reaching a differential diagnosis and quickly creating a treatment plan for pre-arrest, arrest and post-arrest patients

Case Scenarios
68 different scenarios including pre-hospital, emergency department and in-hospital scenarios to allow the course to be customized to best meet the needs of the audience • 27 Cardiovascular Cases• 19 Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology Cases• 15 Respiratory & Metabolic Cases• 8 Post—Cardiac Arrest Care Cases
Course CompletionFor successful course completion, students must actively participate in all case-based scenarios and must meet all current ACLS course completion requirements including:
• Pass the 1-rescuer CPR and AED skills test• Pass the bag-mask ventilation skills test• Pass the Megacode skills test• Pass the ACLS Provider exam with a score of 84 percent
or higher—take online before allowed to attend course
Course Completion• Upon successful completion, students receive an
ACLS EP course completion card, valid for two years.
• 7.25 Hours Continuing Education Accreditation – Emergency Medical Services (2-19-13 to 2-18-16)This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association, an organization accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS), for 7.25 Advanced CEHs, activity number 13-AMHA-F2-0175.
