What are the benefits of casual and temporary teaching?

Statistics show experienced casual and temporary teachers are very competitive in the merit selection process.

Both will enhance your priority date through the Teacher Employment Priority Scheme – TEPS. Every 50 days of teaching enhances your priority date by 6, 12 or 18 months.

Casual and temporary teaching is recognised and over time will increase your salary and bring forward your first increment when you are appointed permanently.

Both provide opportunities to experience a variety of learning environments and help you hone your classroom management skills.
