Over the past five years, council has partnered with the community to deliver on the outcomes identified in our 2009-2014 Corporate Plan. We are pleased to present this summary which highlights some of our greatest achievements during this period. We have faced many challenges over the past five years, but the resilience of our community and the sound decision making of council has seen us emerge in a strong position. Our new 2014-2019 Corporate Plan sets our direction for the next five years with the vision of ‘Townsville, Capital of Northern Australia: the City with Opportunity and Great Lifestyle’.

Council has delivered on the 2009-2014 Corporate Plan outcomes as evidenced by highlights that support progressive outcomes. Council corporate plans are developed in accordance with the globally recognised sustainability framework of Quadruple Bottom Line, which focuses on the goals of:

>> Help Desk Institute (HDI) Team Certified Award – in recognition of having more than 80 per cent of the team HDI certified
