1. The department of Civil Engineering designed a cold form double corrugated roofing units – Rapid roofing solution for elimination of lag phases during construction, under the leadership of Dr. A Praveen, professor in Civil Engineering Department.
2. Dr. Dhanya B.S, Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering awarded, ICI-Ultra Tech award for
young concrete engineer in 2018, best paper in poster presentation in CORCON 2016 and
Indian concrete institute national award for best Ph.D. thesis in concrete for the year 2016

Handing over the Drinking water purifying units (Dr Bindhu B K, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering)
Under the initiative of Dept of Civil Engg. and with the support of RIT Alumni Association, RIT designed and fabricated 50 nos of drinking water purifier units to be distributed to the flood

Mr. James Joseph was awarded Sarasija Thampuran Memorial Endowment
(Instituted by our former Principal Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran) for the best outgoing
student of RIT.
Mr. James Joseph was an active and academically brilliant (with CGPA 7.99)
student of 2017 batch of CE. Mr. James has excellent interaction skills. He has the true
potential to be a good teacher someday in the future. His hard work and thirst to acquire
knowledge will definitely help him achieve the best. He has good values and ethics, and
his attitude towards everyone in the department was very much appealing.
He showed prudent management skills and organizing capability when he led the
department for various events like RIT National EXPO and Vastheya 16. He was the
coordinator of many technical fests and department events. He has participated and
bagged many awards in various competitions in different institutions. His internship
during BTech was in IIT Madras.
