e) Water Conservation Programme The Union Cabinet has declared this year as ‘Water Conservation year 2013’. In

pursuance to this decision, the Ministry of Water Resources has initiated a mass

awareness campaign to sensitize the necessity of conserving water.

The media plan activities for water conservation year 2013 were undertaken at CWPRS

are as follows:

1. A one day workshop on “Rain water harvesting and water conservation” was

conducted on 9th July 2013 to spread the message of water conservation among

NGOs, students and researchers, working professionals and representatives

from local bodies. More than 124 participants from various categories attended

the programme.

2. A article entitled “Water Conservation via hydraulic Research at CWPRS” has

been compiled and sent to MOWR for publication.

3. Drawing competition for School children was conducted on 15th August 2013 at

CWPRS with theme as follows.

Water Saving in Day to Day Life & Poster on Water Conservation About 300

Students from nearby Schools had participated in the event.

4. During 6-10 March 2013, CWPRS participated in DIPEX at College of

Engineering, Pune which was a state level exhibition- cum-competition

programme for students of engineering. CWPRS displayed charts, posters, audio

and video presentation and table models so as to bring awareness as apart of

Water Conservation Year 2013.
