EVENTS OFF THE PREMISES We are proud to announce that Tarush Agarwal (IV-A) has made 49th rank at All India level in NSTSE conducted in February 2014. Kudos to Tarush for making his place in National Achiever (Top 100). Congratulations to Mahaan Tyagi (III), Sanskriti Mittal, Tarush Agarwal (IV-A), (V-A), Siddharth Sinha (VI-B), Kirti Tyagi (VII-F), Kanishka (VIII-A), Shantanu Agarwal (IX-A) and Geeta Goyal (X-A) for being declared the class toppers in the mentioned National Assessment 2014.

Inter School karate Championship 2014 (23.02.2014) was organized by Tenshinkan Self Defence Karate Training School at Satyakaam International School. Our participants did us proud by bagging 2 Gold, 2 Bronze and 3 Silver medals. Kudos to the winners!

K L I kids discovered the mysteries of the universe Orange Education Pvt. Ltd. organized the Nasa Planetarium Movie show for the students of classes K G –VIII on 17, 18 and 19 February 2014. The movie shows were based on: Story of sky Northern star, Celestial Gymnastics and Princess Andromeda etc. depending on the age groups of the children. After the movie shows in two installed domes, students were asked to answer the questions based on it .The winners of the Quiz were awarded with story books, booklets, CDs etc. Students were thrilled and

were well informed after watching the show.

Table Tennis Tournament (09.02.2014) was held at GTB Public School wherein our participants Vaibhav Khanna (VIII-F) bagged 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals in open tournament and Devansh Khanna (V-E) was declared the Player of the tournament and was awarded with a Trophy. Kudos to the winners.

1st IGKO GOJU- RYU World Karate Championship 2014 (31.01.2014 – 02.02.2014): was organized by International Goju Ryu Karate organization at Pathankot wherein our students won 2 Silver

medals and a bronze medal. …… Congratulations….

Inter School Open Roller Skating Championship (02.02.2014): was organized by World Class Roller Skating Club at G.D. Goenka International School, Sonepat. Our skaters have made us proud by bagging 24 gold and 9 silver medals. Congratulations to the winners for bringing plaudits for school.…… Proud of You …….

Heartiest congratulations to Nitigya Rai (XII) for getting through the SSB for Air Force. We feel proud to announce that Aarav Vats of class II-B has qualified the First Level in International Informatics Olympiad wherein he has secured Rank 33 and won a gold medal He has also grabbed the class topper rank. Congratulations Aarav! Kudos to Mehul Kaushik of class XII for achieving 23rd rank in Meerut JEE mains 2014 Mock examination.

Republic Day Celebration: School celebrated 65th Republic Day of India with great pomp & show. The ambience of the school was filled with patriotic fervour with the tri-colour all around. The students of middle school put up a fabulous cultural show comprised of a patriotic song, a dance number on ‘Sar Par Himalaya Ka Taj Hai” and an enactment showcasing the relationship at the border. Music department presented the National song ‘Vande Matram’ which aroused the patriotic feelings in everyone present. The Principal hoisted the tri colour flag and commemorated the first republic day in his address and informed about the celebration of this red letter day since 1950 till now. He emphasized on the need of being patriotic and social in today’s fast moving life and to realize the importance & duties of being citizens of the republic country. He also stated that today’s youth need to be united and must contribute for the development of India in all spheres. The celebration concluded with a release of tri colour balloons by the Principal which symbolizes peace, prosperity, courage and sacrifice.

International French Language Olympiad-2014 (IFLO) was organised on Wednesday, 22 January 2014 wherein our participants come up with flying colours. Congratulations to Suryansh Kishan Razdan (VII-E), who has achieved Rank-I and wore a Gold Medal and Nipurn Goel for achieving Rank-III and bagging a Bronze medal, Divyansh Mishra (VII-E) for winning a Silver medal, Gauri Singhal (VII-E) for bagging a Gold, Ritika Basoya (VIII-E) for achieving a Silver and Vani Vats (VIII-E) for winning a Gold in the Olympiad. We wish them more success in future!

We are proud to announce the success of three of our bonafide students, Shobhit Verma, Nitigya Rai and Akshay Bhardwaj of class XII-A who have qualified for NDA – an achievement to be proud of in itself. Kudos to these students who have proved their mettle in the written exam conducted by NDA. We wish luck to them for reaching the greater heights.

North India Tenshinkan Karate Championship 2014 was organised by Tenshinkan Shotokan Ryu Karate Federation, India on 11 & 12 January 2014. Our participant Kunal (VII-C) brought laurels to school by winning 1 Silver in Kumite event and 1 Bronze in Kata event.

Essay Writing Competition was organized by Amar Ujala & Dabur Red Paste wherein our participant Shreya (V-A) got the Second prize on State Level and was awarded with a bicycle and a memento.

Christmas Celebration (24 December 2013): A special assembly was conducted to celebrate Christmas in which the students of Classes III – V presented a fabulous foot work on Christmas number. A Christmas speech was delivered in Hindi & English as well to commemorate the essence of Christmas Celebration. The Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar emphasised on the values of Christmas and appealed to children to bring the meaningful practice of these values in the daily live.

Santa Making Activity for Classes I & II (24 December 2013): was conducted in classrooms. Children made beautiful Santa Clauses using plethora of materials like balloons, cardboards, thermocol, shuttle cock, paper, cotton etc. The activity was fun filled and was an opportunity to students where in they displayed their creative talents.

Christmas Tree Decoration for Classes III – V (24 December 2013): was conducted for the students who decorated the cut out shapes of Christmas Tree with glitters, thermocol balls, bells, stars, cotton, toffees, holly,gifts etc. These beautifully decorated trees will be displayed to add a beauty to the ambience in the upcoming P.T.M.

Inter School Christmas Tree Contest (24 December 2013): was organised by Hindustan Group at CAEHS College, Meerut. Our participants prepared a beautiful Christmas tree decorated with plethora of decorative items like Santa’s Cap, stars, candles, balls, wreath, holly leaves, cotton, fairy etc. which informed the children with the significance of these decoratives in real life. This contest gave the participants the opportunity to be creative and expressive for celebrating Christmas with full fervour. Our participants were adjudged the winners and were awarded with the first prize.

The VII Chaudhary Narinder Singh Memorial Inter School Debate Competition (21 December 2013): was organised at Guru Tegh Bahadur Public School, Meerut, wherein our participant Utkarsh (VIII-G) brought laurels to school by winning Second Prize for speaking against the motion.

Santa Mask Making Competition (20 December 2013): was organised for the students of KG Wing to give them the opportunity to explore their potential to the fullest. A plethora of mediums were used in the competition by the contestants wherein they also employed some innovative techniques for making fabulous masks. This encouraged them to follow their passions and come out with

remarkable productivity.

Christmas Celebration in KG Wing (20 December 2013): Jingle bells, Jingle bells Jingle all the way, Santa Claus came to K.L.I Riding on a sleigh Yeh !

Tender Hearts of K.L.I celebrated ‘CHRISTMAS’ on Friday, 20 December, 2013. The toddlers danced and enjoyed with full enthusiasm in their colourful and attractive attires. NATIONAL CREATIVITY OLYMPIAD (ROUND-2): was held on Sunday, 08 December 2013, at Navy Children School, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Our Malaika Rastogi (X-A) brought laurels to school by winning the First Prize along with the cash prize of Rs. 25,000 in the Olympiad. Kudos to Malaika Rastogi.

Free Dental Check-Up & Essay Writing Competition (10 December 2013): was organised for the students of classes III-V. The dentists explained the way and importance of maintaining dental and oral hygiene and eating habits. The session was followed by dental check-up post which a Dabur Red Tooth Paste was gifted to all students. A Hindi Essay Writing Competition was also organised by Amar Ujala on the same day.

Students of classes III – V, VI – VIII & IX – XII visited World of Wonders on 9 November 2013, 06 December 2013 and 10 December 2013 respectively. Children enjoyed the journey, refreshment & lunch and the fun rides at the destination. The rides which they loved most were Disco, Zero Gravity, Fast Forward, 360°, Frog Jumper, Shanghai Circle etc. Their joys knew no bounds during the day and returned more confident, more informed and rejuvenated with the treasured moments which they will cherish always, fulfilling the core objective of the excursion.

A day out for euphoria (09 December 2013): School picnics are the most looked-for-days by the students in the entire session. This time excursions were scheduled for the students of classes LKG to XII in the months of November & December. Tiny tots of KG to class II had a day out with exaltation at Drizzling Land. They enjoyed the to & fro journeys with their teachers and had unlimited fun at the destination.

CBSE National Skating Championship (06 December - 09 December 2013): was organised at Muljibhai Mehta International School, Thane, Maharashtra. Our participants displayed their extra ordinary skills in Advait Madhwan (IV-H) was awarded with a silver and Pranav Gupta (VI-A) bagged a bronze medal. All the participants were awarded with the participation trophies.

4th Bharat National Open Roller Skating Championship 2013 (30.11.2013): was organised at Bharat National Public School, New Delhi. Our participants won plaudits by displaying their indomitable skills of skating in the championship and bagged 14 Gold, 5 Silver and a Bronze medal. Besides this laurel, the overall championship trophy was also awarded to our representatives. Kudos to the winners!

‘SPLASH’ (16 November 2013): A Painting Competition was organised by Axis Bank, Garh Road Branch, Meerut. Students from five reputed schools of Meerut participated in the competition. Our school was adjudged the winner of the competition wherein Vanshika Gupta (VI-A) expressed her comprehension of the theme and skills by bringing the colours alive on the canvas and bagged the first prize.

Bharat Ko Jano Quiz Competition (12 November 2013): Our participants Manvi Sharma (VIII-D) , Utkarsh Sharma (VIII-G) , Yatharth Dutt (X-D) and Gaurang Aneja (IX-D) won the competition in both Junior and Senior groups and have qualified for the District Level Competition to be held on 24 November 2013 at Mohkampur. We congratulate the winners.

Rashtriya Samooh Gaan Pratiyogita (10 November 2013): was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Meerut Utkarsh in two levels. The first and District Level competition was held on 30 October 2013, wherein our participants bagged the first prize in Hindi & Sanskrit Song Competition. The Second and State Level Competition was held at Muzaffarnagar. Our participants represented in Hindi and Sanskrit Song Competition and won the Third prize.

Inter School Sports Fiesta (8- 10 November 2013): was organised by and at Vidya International Sports Academy, Meerut. Our Basketball team (Girls) played very skillfully and bagged the second prize in the tournament.

Vocative Fiesta & Inter-School Talent Competition (9 November 2013): was organised at CAEHS Institute. The competition consists of three events i) Budding Scientists Award, in which a special CAEHS award was bagged by our senior group, ii) Best Out of Waste Articles; in this category Prakhar (Class IX) won the Second Prize in Junior group (IX-X), iii) Quiz Competition; our representatives in the junior group won the Second runner-up trophy in this category.

4 Sanshinkan International Karate Championship (8 & 9 November 2013): was organised by Sanshinkan Karate India, at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. A total of 850 students from various countries participated in the championship. Our participants got through the cut-throat competition and won 5 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze medals.

HINDUSTAN PRATIBHA SAMMAN-2013 organised by the daily, ‘Hindustan’ on 7 November 2013 at Radha Govind Mandap. The panel of judges adjudged numerous schools on various parameters and criteria and declared K. L. International School, the BEST SCHOOL in Meerut. The occasion was graced by honourable Mrs. Asha Tomar (Joint Director, Education), Mr. Anil Bhaskar (Sr. Editor West UP Head, Hindustan Media), Mr. Atul Krishnan (Founder, Subharti University), Ms. Kiran Bedi (An Indian social activist and a retired Indian Police Service officer), Mr. Manmeet Khurana (Manager, KLI School), Mr. Yogesh Mohan Gupta (Chairman, IIMT Group), Mr. Ajay Agarwal (Director, Translam Institute) and Mr. Sanjay Tyagi (Managing Director, Siddhi Vinayak Group).

Kudos to KLI family for this unparallel achievement for the second time consecutively.

An Inter-School Sanskrit debate competition was organised on 7 November 2013 at C.C.S. University, Meerut. Five reputed schools of the town participated in the event. Our participant Aproov Garg (X-A) won the second prize who expressed his view point against the motion.

On the occasion of Diwali, Diya Decoration for classes KG-II, Candle Decoration for classes III-V and Creative Ganesha Making for classes VI-VIII were organised to inculcate the creativity in students. Active participation was shown by the students. Special Assembly was conducted to celebrate Diwali in school. A speech on history and relevance of Diwali Celebration was delivered. Enthralling dances were presented by the students. The Principal, in her speech stressed on the need to unite and uproot the vices from the society to make the country a better place to live in, and celebrate Diwali in an indigenous way by keeping their safety in mind and making the celebration to the fullest.

EXSPO-2013 Excellence in Sports 8th International Sports Meet (26-29 October 2013): was organised at City Montessori Inter College, Lucknow. Our six participants represented our school in Karate meet wherein Nikunj Sharma (VI-I) bagged 1 bronze medal in Kata, Aaradhya Vashisht (IV-G) won 1 bronze in Kata and Simran Arora (IX-F) received 1 bronze in Kata and 1 bronze in Kumite. Kudos to the winners.

Sahyog, Co-Operation, Together We Will (24 October 2013): was organised in Meerut. The activity organised, was a diversion from competition to collaboration, the purpose of which was to attain a common objective as a team followed by insightful sharing of learning. Students of classes VII & VIII from 21 reputed schools of Meerut participated along with the teacher escorts. The students and teachers from different schools were divided into 7 groups and were given a theme to prepare a programme / project with a presentation to be presented by a group leader. Our participants Utkarsh Upadhayay (VIII-G) and Manvi Sharma (VIII-D) participated in the groups with the theme “Puppetry” & “Mera Meerut Sunder Meerut” respectively. Our both the participants were given the leadership of the groups they had participated in and presented a praiseworthy presentation. It was a learning and enjoyable experience which showed the vision of the host school to bring all schools of the town together and finally of the whole world.

English Recitation Competition (21 & 22 October 2013): was conducted for classes Pre-Nursery to UKG in two rounds: Preliminary Round was conducted in classes wherein every child had participated and the best five entries were short-listed to participate in the final round held on 22 October 2013. In the Final Round the students performed very passionately in the fabulous costumes using the suitable props. The participation was very praiseworthy and promising which infused confidence in the tiny tots.

World’s Handwash Day (15 October 2013): The day was observed in school. A visit was made by Dr. Gunjan Bhatnagar, a microbiologist and Dr. Manju Gupta from Rotary Club, Meerut. Dr. Bhatnagar explained the importance of washing hands before and after meals, after playing or coming into contact with any infected thing. As once infected, its usually just a matter of time before the whole family comes down with the same illness. Dr. Manju Gupta Demonstrated the use of liquid soap and sanitizers followed by drying the hands with a tissue paper or a towel. Students of classes III – V participated in the observance of the day. Children found the information and demonstration very effective and beneficial for the development of their personal hygiene practices. In this way students learnt the way to keep illnesses at bay.

Dussehra Celebration (10 October 2013): Dussehra was celebrated with gaiety and fervour by the students. A Special Assembly was conducted for the celebration where students of class UKG depicted the killing of Ravana by Lord Rama. A robotic dance was presented by the students of IX & X which enthralled the students and teachers as well. This festival is celebrated to show triumph of virtues over vice which was conveyed in the speech delivered by Isha of class X.

Hand Writing Competition (22 August 2013): i-next newspaper organised Reynold’s “WRITE THE FUTURE” Hand Writing Competition in the school. The result of the

competition was declared on 10 October 2013 and the winners were felicitated in the assembly. The competition was conducted in two groups. Students of classes V & VI participated in Group 1. Group 2 comprised of the students of classes VII & VIII. The students who excelled in Group I were Vanshika Kapoor (VI-E) First position, Shrishti Rastogi (VI-G) Second Position and Eva Ghanshani the third Prize winner.

Appreciation awards were won by Sakshi Sindhu (V-G) and Vrinda (V-I). In Group 2, Harshi Payal (VIII-G) secured First position, Saumya Singh (VII-F) stood second and Manvi Sharma (VIII-D) bagged the Third prize. Appreciation awards were bagged by Vansh (VII-A) and Divay (VII-E).

Cbse East Zone Skating Cluster 2013-14 (7 - 9 October 2013): was hosted at DPSG International, Ghaziabad. Our participants participated with full vigour and left the marks of victory in the cluster where in they bagged 22 medals: Gold 9, Silver 8 and Bronze 5. The Star performers in the event were Jatin Pal (II-B), Aduait Madhvan (IV-H), Ananya Jaiswal (V-G) and Pranav Gupta (VI-A) who won two Gold Medals each in their respective age groups. Kudos to the winners.

Fashion Indie – 2013(08 October 2013): was organised by Vidya Institute of Fashion Technology in which 9 reputed schools of Meerut participated. Our participants Anmol Gupta (XI-A) claimed the Second prize in Tile Painting Competition, Anushee (VIII-G) bagged the Second prize in Paper Bag Making Competition and Vaishnavi (XI-A) won

the second prize in the Mask Making Competition.

Disaster Management Session (09 October 2013): was organised by Anand Hospital, Garh Road, Meerut for the school students. Students from many reputed schools of Meerut participated in the workshop which focused on the first aid given to the victims of various incidents or accidents. Dr. Gunjan Kapoor, a cardiologist, discussed the cardiac problems and informed the students about the measures to be taken in the time of emergencies. Dr. Vineet Saxena presented a demonstration on first aid using the prepared presentations on computer. Mr. & Mrs. Soni from fire brigade department with their team presented

a demonstration to meet the fire accidents. The workshop was very knowledgeable and beneficial for the students.

All U.P. Karate Championship 2013 (06 October 2013): was organized by Japan Karate Do Hakuakai Organization, Meerut. Our participants have proved their extra ordinary skill in the championship and brought laurels to school by winning 20 medals: Gold 6, Silver 7 and Bronze 7. Our Star performer was Aryan Pathak (IV-D). Our school received the ‘Best Team Trophy’ for showing their outstanding talents in the championship.

CBSE East Zone Judo Championship (2 October – 5 October 2013): was conducted at Rajendra Academy, Moradabad. Our participant Priyanshi Sharma (VI-G) (U/12, -30) was awarded Bronze medal in the championship.

Clay Modelling Competition (04 October 2013): Fabulous specimens of artistry were made by the tiny tots of the KG Wing using colourful dough. The little ones enjoyed their participation in the competition. The result of their self practice of the prescribed objects to be made was praise worthy. The classwise theme of the competition was as follows: (i) Pre-Nursery- Snake, Ball and The Sun (ii) Nursery- Caterpillar, Flower and The Sun (iii) LKG- Snail, Green Chilly and Softy (iv) UKG- Angry Bird, Peacock and Pine-apple.

3rd Invitational Inter School Speed Skating Championship 2013 (02 October 2013): KLI skaters displayed their amazing and unparalleled talent in sport-on-wheels at DPSG International, Ghaziabad. Our participants have proved their extra ordinary skill in the championship and brought laurels to school by winning 27 medals: Gold 14, Silver 7 and Bronze 6.

Card Making Competition (01 October 2013): was conducted for classes I to V on the theme ‘Diwali’. Students participated in the competition enthusiastically. The children showcased their creativity by making beautiful and awe-inspiring cards. It was a good opportunity for them to be imaginative and creative. They used wide range of material for making the cards. The best three cards were selected from each section and the best one was awarded in each section.

Inter-House Debate Competition (30 September 2013): was organised in three categories for the students of classes VI-VIII. The Preliminary Round was conducted in the classes themselves. The short listed ones in the Preliminary round had participated in the Final Round held on 30 September 2013. The enthusiastic participants put forth their arguments confidently which were countered by the worthy opponents. In Category-I (class VI) Prakash House emerged out as a winner with Abhijay Tyagi (Prakash House), the best speaker for the motion and Arjun Narula (Prerna House), the best speaker against the motion. In Category-II (class VII) Prakash House again marked its victory. Anshika (Prakash House) and Vansh Sharma (Prakash House) were adjudged the best speakers for the motion and against the motion respectively. In Category-III (Class-VIII) Prerna House won the competition where Manvi Sharma (Prakash House) was declared the best speaker for the motion and Utkarsh Upadhyay (Prerna House) was declared the best speaker against the motion. Teachers’ Day (05 September 2013): “Teachers are the nation builders and education is one of the solid foundations on which we will strive to build a great nation.” Dr.SarvapalliRadhakrishnan, a teacher, a mentor and a philosopher had the similar thoughts which he had reflected time and again while he made his contribution to the field of education. He not only proved himself to be one of the most devoted educationists but also earned a lot of honour and dignity for the teacher fraternity.

The student council 2013-14 organized a grand function to celebrate Teacher’s Day with honour and fun. A cultural programme was organized by the students consisting of a Salsa Performance, Punjabi Dance, Western & Robots Dance, Signature steps of Madhuri Dixit etc. were highly appreciated by the teacher audience. Students expressed their gratitude and feelings for their teachers through the event which commenced with the offering of a garland to Goddess Saraswati and Dr.RadhaKrishnan and culminated with the vote of thanks by the Principal. Teachers were enthralled and overwhelmed by the expressions of the students and were thankful to them for

making them feel honoured and special.

Inter-School Swimming Competition (30 & 31 August 2013): Students of classes III to XII participated in an Inter School Swimming Competition. Our participants held the school flag high by winning 24 medals: Gold 17, Silver 3 and Bronze 4. Congratulations to our swimmers.

Janmashtami Celebration (27 August 2013): Janmashtami is a day of joy and jubilation, for it heralds the birth of Lord Krishna. Students of K.G. Wing celebrated Janmashtami by creating an environment of happiness and joy among themselves. With loads of fun activities, tiny tots were lost in the joy of divine songs and dances performed in praise of Lord Krishna. ColorfulRasleela in traditional outfits was performed by the little ones depicting significant phases and acts of Lord's life. The festival was celebrated with fervor. The experience was absolutely mesmerizing.

The Great Aryabhatt Mathematics Olympiad 2013 (25 August 2013): was organised by Magnet Marketing Group. Our participant Ashish Tyagi (VIII-F) secured III position in Group B (classes VII-VIII) and was awarded a Micromax Funbook Infinity Tablet.

Inter–School Invitational Roller Skating Championship (25 August 2013): was organized by Speed Zone Skating Welfare Society for the students between the age of 4 and 16 years in a local school. The participants of our school brought laurels by showing their extra ordinary skills of skating and winning 41 medals: Gold 14, Silver 13, and Bronze 14. Kudos to the winners.

Rakhi Making Competition (20 August 2013): It was organized for the students of classes Pre-Nursery to VIII. Students prepared beautiful rakhies using the prescribed material brought from home. By participating in the competition, the students felt the tradition of the festival ‘RakshaBandhan’.

Thali Decoration Competition (20 August 2013): It was organized for classes IX to XII. Students decorated ‘Thalies’ using variety of modern and indigenous material. The excitement among students was admirable.

Investiture Ceremony (20 August 2013): On the fine morning of August the twentieth 2013, deserving young talents of our school were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school from the front with commitment, confidence and competence. The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inaugural of the student council for the academic session 2013-14. It was conducted with the high degree of sincerity and enthusiasm. The principal announced the various posts and the student authorities were presented the school flag. She administered the oath of office to the elected members. Taking the oath , the Head Boy –Pranjal Bansal ,the Head Girl –Sanyukta Singhal,

Vice-Head Boy–Harneet Khurana, Vice Head Girl–Radhika Agarwal, Sports Captain–Gaurav Singh and Krishna, Vice Sports Captain Shivam Khanna, Cultural Head–Nitigya Rai and Poornima Chaudhary, the House Captains and the Prefects pledged their commitment to choose the “harder right, instead of the easier wrong’. The Principal delivered a motivational speech, urging them to have a clear conscience while delineating their duties. She emphasized on the pressing need to uphold the school motto ‘Knowledge, Discipline, and Character’ and also stressed on the importance of honesty, integrity and loyalty as vital qualities for positions of dignity. With these responsibilities placed on their firm shoulders, the newly appointed office-bearers silently vowed to act as role models for the rest of the school to emulate. The momentous ceremony culminated by the vote of thanks proposed by newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl followed by the National Anthem.

Sophian-Tech Fiesta-2013-14 (19 August 2013):Ayushi Chauhan (XII) of our school lifted the Runners’ up Trophy in E-Colloquium as Interjector. Independence Day was celebrated in school on 15 August 2013 with zeal and patriotic fervor. The ambience of school was very Indian with Tricolor flags, balloons and banners. Enthusiasm for the celebration of the national festival was worth- noticing. The programme began with the hoisting of national flag by the Principal Ms. Ranjeeta Kaur and the tricolor balloons were released with the wish to have peace all around the nation and the world. The cultural programme began thereafter .Students presented patriotic songs and a fabulous dance performance was presented on a patriotic number. The celebration was culminated by the principal’s address in which she emphasized on the need to be sensitive towards today’s happenings in and around the nation and the expectations from youth of today to do the needful and at the right time. Students dispersed after the distribution of sweets.

Inter House Patriotic Song Competition 2013 (14 August 2013): The school organized an Inter-House Patriotic Song Competition in order to fill the hearts of students with love for the nation and its citizens. The event was graced by chief guest Mr. K. C. Tandon. The competition commenced with the presentation by the students of category-I (classes I – V) followed by category-II (VI-VIII) and category-III (IX-XI) In category-I (Group Song), the participants of

Prerna House (Red) were awarded the winners’ trophy and the participants of Prakash House (Yellow) were awarded the runners’ up trophy. In category-II (Group Song), the participants of Prakash House (Yellow) were awarded the winners’ trophy and the participants of Prayas House (Green) were awarded the runners’ up trophy. In category-III (Solo Song), the participant of Prakash House (Yellow) was awarded the winner’s trophy and the participant of Prayas House (Green) was awarded the runner’s up trophy. GK Quiz Competition (13 August 2013): Students of classes IX to XII participated in the competition organised by Master School of Management (MSM) in association with AIMS the school auditorium. Six teams of two members each participated. Team F (Simran Arora and ParanPabbi of class X) won the competition. Team –A (Utkarsh and Yatharth) lifted the Runner’s Up Trophy.

Inter School Dance Competition (YUVAAN) (12 August 2013): 23 students of classes VII to IX participated in the competition “MaaTujhePranaam” organized by Amar Ujala. Our participants were ranked third in the semi-final round.

Inter School Music Competition ‘Malhaar-2013’ (12 August 2013): Our students from classes IX – XI participated in different categories. SuchitaPanday (XI-B) bagged III position in the Solo – Classical category.

1st Dan International: was organized by SanshinkanShitoRyu Karate International in which UtkarshUpadhayay of class VIII-G exhibited his outstanding potential and skills and was awarded a Black Belt by the

organization. Kudos to Utkarsh.

Second Inter School Roller Skating Championship 2013 (11 August 2013): 25 students participated in 8 categories of the competition, held among the participants of 25 different schools at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Bawana, New Delhi. 15 students marked victory in the competition and came out with flying colours bagging 20 medals: Gold 10, Silver 5 and Bronze 5. The school lifted the overall Second Winners’ Trophy by scoring 75 points in the championship.

Inter-School Declamation Contest (7 August 2013): The final round of Inter School Declamation Contest organized by Sarokar& Amar Ujala at St. Mary’s Academy was held on 7 August 2013. 28 schools had participated in the preliminary round and 14 schools were short-listed for the semi-finals. 7 schools participated in the final round and our participants MayankGarg (X-E) and Shivangi Chaudhary (XI-C) lifted the second runners’ up trophy. Shivangi was also awarded with the best speaker in Hindi Award. Cash prize of Rs. 2100/- was won by the team and Rs. 1100/- by Shivangi. Kudos to the winners.

1st Shanshinkan North India Karate & MMA Championship (27 & 28 July 2013): Our participants displayed their outstanding potential in Karate held at SamudaiBhawan, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Fourteen students from classes III to VI participated and bagged 15 medals; Gold 3, Silver 4 and Bronze 8.

Slogan Writing Competition (6 July 2013): The robust and vibrant thoughts of students were constructively and beautifully penned down when they got the opportunity to display their literary and creative skill by participating in Slogan Writing Competition on ‘Environment’. Thought-provoking and inspirational slogans were written enthusiastically by the students for classes IX to XI.

Poster Making Competition (6 July 2013): The competition was held for classes VI to VIII. Students portrayed their thoughts and imagination zealously on the theme ‘Environment’ exhibiting their artistic and language skills.

Tree Plantation Drive (5- 6 July 2013): A two-day programme was organized by school for the students of classes Pre-Nursery to V, to inculcate the habit of making the Earth Green and saving the Environment from various common hazards. A variety of plants like Rose, Marigold and many other ornamental plants, and trees like Mango, Guava Ashoka, Peepaletc were planted by the students after the inaugural plantation done by the Principal, Ms. Ranjeeta Kaur.

Junior Master Chef Audition (29 May 2013): was organised by Star Plus (TV India) at St. John’s Sr. Sec. School, Meerut. Students of KLI participated with great vigour & enthusiasm. NandiniKaushik (VII-F) was selected for the next round of audition to be held on 1 June 2013 at Noida (U.P). The Sports Saga 2013 at Shanti NiketanVidhyapeeth, Meerut. (Individual) Table Tennis Tournament (13 May 2013): The Table tennis players of our school participated in the (Individual) Table Tennis Tournament held for boys & Girls. Simran Arora (IX-E) brought laurels to school by winning a Gold Medal and Cash prize. Inter school Swimming Competition (14 May 2013): The swimmers of K. L. International School swam across the boundaries of the school pool and proved their skills of swimming in an inter school competition.

In the category of Boys: Kaustubh (X) secured First position in Relay 4x50 m. Arjun Chaudhary (X) bagged the first position in Relay 4x50 m. and third position in Back Stroke. Sarthak (XI) stood First in Freestyle & Relay 4x50m and second position in Midley race, Back Stroke and Relay 4x50m. Shorya Solanki (XI) bagged the Runner’s Up Trophy in relay 4x50m. In the category of Girls: HimaniTyagi(X), Kanika Singh(X), SakshiMand (X), Navya Chopra (X) Nandini and Arushi Singh (XI) lifted the individual Winners’ Trophies in Relay 4x50m, Free Style and Back Stroke races.

Declamation Contest (11 May 2013): Our students participated in the second round of the Declamation Contest organised by Amar Ujala and Sarokar on the subject “Thoughts & Philosophy of the Revolutionaries in context of Indian Nationalism”. 13 reputed schools of the town participated in the contest. Our participants presented themselves in amazingly well manner and qualified for the final round to be held on 10 August 2013.

Colouring Competition (06 May 2013): Students of classes Pre-Nursery to UKG participated in the Colouring Competition. Best three entries were awarded with certificates.

‘Splash’ Pool Party (2-13 May 2013): To chill the heat of May, students of KG wing enjoyed a pool party organised in an exclusively designed pool for our tiny tots. The party culminated with the foot tapping on latest numbers & licks of yummy flavoured ice-creams.

Nasa Astronomy Olympiad 2012-13: Accolades to Madhavendra A. Vinod (IX) who has brought laurels to school by exhibiting his outstanding knowledge and knack for learning. He participated and has excelled the Astronomy Olympiad, in which almost 1,00,000 student participated from all over India, out of which 5000 students were short listed for national level examination and finally 30 students were selected for various prizes. We are proud to mention that

Madhavendra A. Vinod of K.L. International School is one of the 12 winners who bagged All India Rank-I & received a certificate of excellence and a 10 day trip to NASA, to be joined in the month of May 2013.

We wish him good luck for the trip and anticipate his return to school with an enriched and joyous experience.

Inter School Tae-Kwondo Championship (04 May 2013)was organised at Club-17, Fitness Studio, Saket where KLI students shone like stars and won 2 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Star performers were Krishna Bhaskar (VI-C) and AkshayVadan (VIII-G). School battled with 20 schools in the championship.

1st SardarManmohan Singh Memorial Table Tennis Tournament (2, 3 & 4 May 2013): School registered its glorious victory in the above mentioned tournament held at Guru TeghBahadur Public School. School bagged 17 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze medals in all the categories i.e. Under 15-Boys, Under-19 Boys and Under-19 Girls. School received All Over Rolling Trophy for the marvellous performance in all the categories. Individually, Vaibhav Khanna (Under-15 Boys), Shivam Khanna (Under-19 Boys), &Simran Arora (Under-19 Girls) surprised all with their wonderful performance and in the Open

Tournament Shivam Khanna (Under-19 Boys) and Vishal Goyal (Under-19 Boys) have shown spectacular performance by winning the trophy. North India Karate Championship 2013 (28 April 2013) Our students have done us proud by winning Gold 4, Silver 2 and Bronze 4 medals in the championship where they proved their potential by displaying their innate skills.

31st Delhi State Open Roller Skating Championship 2013 (27 & 28 April 2013)was held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Bawana, New Delhi. A fantabulous performance was exhibited by the students of KLI School. In the championship our participants left everybody amazed by bagging Gold 17, Silver 10 and Bronze 10 medals.

17th Inter School Taekwondo Championship (27 & 28 April 2013) was organised by Distt. Tae-Kwondo Association, at Ryan International School, Greater Noida, UP. Krishna Bhaskar (VI-C) achieved the first rank and brought to school a Gold medal. PrathamBhaskar (VIII-A) bagged a bronze Medal.

Declamation Contest (27 April 2013): Amar Ujala and Sarokar have together began a drive to bring the Spirit of Renaissance, under which these organisations conducted the first round of Declamation contest. Our participants MayankGarg (X-E) spoke on the subject: “The substance of Swami Vivekananda’s Nationalism and its Relevance in Contemporary India” in English whereas Shivangi Chaudhary (XI-C) expressed her thoughts on the subject in Hindi and qualified with highest score for the second round to be held on 11 May 2013.

Colouring Competition (22 April 2013) was conducted for classes I & II wherein they portrayed their skills using vibrant colours.

Best out of Waste Competition (22 April 2013) for classes III-XI was conducted in which our students participated with great zeal & enthusiasm using the waste material and exhibited their creativity.

Distt. Meerut Karate-Do Championship (21 April 2013): KLI students showcased their strength in Distt. Meerut Karate-Do Championship in which Jaya (IX-A) brought laurels by winning Gold medal in her category. Kunal Singh (VII-C) and Anmol Kumar (VIII-F) won silver medals.

An International Talent Competition & Vocative Fiesta (20 April 2013) was organised by CAEHS College, Meerut. KLI showcased their talent in two categories – Cooking without Fire Contest in which Prakriti (X-C) got 1st Prize and in Quiz Competition the top two positions were bagged by KLI students. Akshay (XII-A), Utkarsh (XII-A), Yatharth (X-D), Tushar (IX-E) ranked-I and Simran (IX-E), Manvi (VIII), Shobit (XII-A), Arjun (IX) were ranked-II.

1st Summer Skating Meet Open Roller Skating Championship (13 April 2013): The skaters of K. L. International School marked the beautiful beginning of the session 2013-14 when they came up with flying colours in the First Summer Skating Meet Open Roller Skating Championship 2013 held at St P. B. N. Public School, Sector 17B, Near IFFCO Colony, Gurgaon (Haryana). Our skaters bagged 9 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the meet.
