Test on Base

• Take a test at a convenient local base.

• Available at either a military base–sponsored test center or at a test center sponsored by the military and run by a college or university.

• DANTES funds the CLEP exam fee up front and there are no test center administration fees.

• Search for the nearest on-base or base-sponsored test center at clep.collegeboard.org/search/ test-centers.

• Contact the on-base/base-sponsored test center directly for more information about registration and scheduling.

No matter which option you choose, you will have access to all 33 computer-based exams. Scores for all CLEP tests are reported immediately (except for College Composition).

Test at a Fully Funded Test Center

• Take a test at a nearby college or university campus.

• DANTES fully funds the CLEP exam fee up front as well as the test center administration fee.

• Search for the nearest fully funded test center at clep.collegeboard.org/search/test-centers.

• Contact the fully funded test center directly for more information about registration and scheduling.

As of Dec. 11, 2010, DANTES does not fund retesting on a previously funded CLEP exam. However, service members may personally fund a retest after waiting six months.

Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. Contact your admission officer or academic adviser to learn more about the CLEP policy at your institution.
