TABLE OF CONTENTSSpring Session March 7-June 17

Hello island adult learners, I’m Sam Hart, the new Executive Director. I have been with ACE MV since July 2014. As an islander, I care greatly for the community that nurtured me whenI was young. This is why I am commit-ted to building a robust and sustainable Adult and Community Education program and continuing the tremendous work of our previous Executive Director and Founder, Lynn Ditchfield. Lynn has taught me that community engagement comes alive through education and this is key tokeeping our year-round island population intellect-ually and professionally stimulated. Our new catalog is part of an effort by the team at ACE MV to extend our reach to the island community and offer the most comprehensive program that empowers lifelong learners, island professionals and our year-round workforce to achieve their post-secondary educational and/or professional goals. We hope you enjoy the new look!

Samuel Hart, Executive Director

It has been an honor to serve from 2008 to 2014 as Founder/ Executive Director and this year as Program Director of ACE MV following the adult education tradition that began here in the ‘70s.The catalogs pictured on the tapestry cover for Spring ‘15 represent 788 classes, seminars and events offered by a faculty of over 200 instructors, with over 90 sponsors and cosponsors, and doubled enrollment since we began. This progress is due to the vision of countless volunteers who have worked hard as part of ACE MV.Thanks to the mandate from the towns, and the support of grants and donors, we now have a talented staff led by our new ED, Sam Hart. In July, I will leave my administrative role with ACE MV to take classes and continue to teach. I do this with total confidence that there is a wonderful team dedicated to continuing and growing the vision of accessible life-long learning for all generations, economic classes, and cultures on our Island.

Lynn Ditchfield, Program Director
