International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking A speech by PSI Mr. Mohite and Mr. Mohan Dere was organized in our college on the occasion of Nasha Mukti Din, 26 th June 2015. They delivered a detail and informative talk on side effects of drugs, alcohol and tobacco consumption to create awareness in the new generation. They also gave a print out of their ppt in which detailed information was displayed. This was put up on the notice board for students. 2. Celebration of World Population Day As per notification of R.T.M.N.U. under Adult & Continued Education Program, two events such as Essay competiton & Home Visit program were arranged in our college to celebrate World Population Day, 11 July, 2015. There was an enthusiastic response from the students. Both the programs were a great success. 37 students participated in Essay Competition on ‘Measures to Control Population Growth’. 48 students visited homes with pamphlets. Importance of family planning and birth control measures were explained. Each student visited five homes. Pamphlets were distributed to 240 families. Students also collected data in the form of feedback.Miss. Tejswini S. Khobragade (B. Com. - I) awarded first prize (Rs. 300/-) and Miss. Kokila M. Balpande(BSc. A speech by PSI Mr. Mohite and Mr. Mohan Dere was organized in our college on the

3. Opening of New Session 2015-2016

On the opening of new session, Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director, S. S. Maniar College of

Computer & Management, Nagpur addressed all Part-I Students and delivered a lecture on

career guidance on 17th July, 2015. Mr. Vijay Bhaladare & Mr. Vikram Ratnani guided

students about preparation of government exams such as railway, bank, staff selection,

MPSC, UPSC, LIC, defence, etc. They also provided knowledge to the students regarding

mind development, mind tricks, personality development, imaginary study and importance of

communication skills.

4. Celebration of Teacher Day

Students had organized a wonderful function on “Teachers’ Day” for teaching staff of S. S.

Maniar College of Computer and Management on 5th September, 2015. They had prepared

creative and attractive invitation cards with their own hands. The invitation cards had good

thoughts on teachers. The function started with welcome song and lighting of the traditional

lamp to goddess Saraswati. Greeting cards, rose flowers and gifts were given to welcome all

teachers. Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide, Director and Ms. V. Parkhi, Off. Principal addressed the

students on this occasion. After the welcome, various games were organized for teachers. All

teachers actively participated in the games and thoroughly enjoyed the function.

5. Awareness Program on Prevention of Dengue

Filariasis and Malaria Department, Nagpur Municipal Corporation organized an awareness

program for prevention of Dengue in our college on 5th September, 2015. Mr. Dilip Patil,

Assistant Commissioner, NMC of Lakadganj zone with Sanitary Inspectors Mr. Jayant

Jadhav and Mr. Salve were the main speakers of the function. Mr. Dilip Patil provided

information about communicable diseases to the students. His discussion was focused on

prevention of multiplication of mosquitoes because they are responsible for spreading

communicable diseases such as Swine flu, Dengue, Chickengunia, Malaria, Filariasis, etc.

6. Participation of Students in Poster & Elocution Competition

On the occasion of ‘International Literacy Day’ on 8th September 2015, the Department of

Management Studies, KDK College of Engineering had organized a Poster and Elocution

competition for the students to express their views on literacy. 23 students participated in the

poster competition and 16 students participated in elocution competition. Mr. Palash V.

Khobragade was awarded the first prize (Rs. 500/-) in poster competition and Mr. Mukesh

Bharadwaj was ranked first in Hindi language and awarded the second prize (Rs. 500/-) in

overall elocution competition.

7. Inter-College Chess Competition

An Inter College Chess Competition recognized by Department of Physical Education,

RTMNU was organized from 18thto 21st Seeptember, 2015 in Anjuman College of

Engineering & Technology, Sadar, Nagpur for students to show their excellence. The

tournament started with opening ceremony and addressed by Dr. Dhananjay Welurkar,

Director of Physical Education Department, RTMNU, Dr. Sajid Anwar, Principal, Anjuman

College, Nagpur and Prof. Zakir S. Khan, Director of Physical Education Department of

Anjuman College, Nagpur. 06 students of our college were participated in Chess tournament.

8. Participation of Students in Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition

Dharampeth Science College, Nagpur had organized an Inter Collegiate Debate competition

for the students on 29th September, 2015. The topic for debate was “The Fourth Pillar of

Democracy THE MEDIA is deviating from its true objective”. One team of two students

such as Mr. Mukesh Bharadwaj (BBA I Year) and Mr. Shubham Sahu (B. Com II Year) was

participated in competition. The team was awarded fourth prize in competition.

9. Participation of Students in Inter-Collegiate Competition

Suryoday College of Engineering and Technology had organized an Inter Collegiate

competition SAMBHAV 2015 for the students on 30th September, 2015. Technical event,

non-technical event and sports event were organized in competition. 05 students participated

in Mock Test competition, 10 students participated in Poster competition, 07 teams

participated in Box Cricket competition, 05 teams participated in Roadies competition, 01

team participated in Tug of War competition and 01 student participated in Photo Mania

competition. Mr. Mukesh Bharadwaj (BBA – I) was awarded the first prize (Rs. 200/-) in

poster competition.

10. Participation of Students in a National Level Techno Contest

Institute of Computer Studies and Research, VMV Commerce, JMT Arts & JJP Science

College, Nagpur had organized a national level techno contest PRAYAS 2015 for the

students on 7th October, 2015. Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation and Project

Presentation were organized in contest. Total 13 participants were participated in contest.

The team of Ms. Sneha Kumbhalkar (B.Sc. IT – III) and Ms. Shweta Patel (B.Sc. IT – III)

was awarded third prize in Paper competition. Ms. Kalyani Jaiswal (B.Sc. IT – III) was

awarded third prize in Poster competition.

11. Industry Visit

Students of S. S. Maniar College of Computer and Management, Nagpur, accompanied by

four faculty members went on an industrial visit to the Agriculture Produce Marketing Centre

(APMC), Kalamna, Nagpur and Yash Pulses Industries, Kalamna Market Road, Nagpur on

12. Visit to “Gyanjoti” Blind Residential School

The students of S.S. Maniar College of Computer and Management accompanied by their

teachers Ms. Vrushali Parkhi, Mr. Atul Akotkar, Ms. Gunjan Kharabe, Mr. Hiren Shah and

Director Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide paid a visit to the Gyanjoti Blind Residential School at near

Gajanan Mandir, Nagalwadi, Hingna, Nagpur on 10th October, 2015.Delicious lunch from

Jog caterers was sponsored by Ms. Vrushali Parkhi, Ms. Gunjan Kharabe, Mr. Hiren Shah

and Dr. (Mrs.) S. A. Bhide for the blind children.

13. Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Tournaments

Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Tournaments Organized by Nasikrao College of Physical

Education Department, Nagpur on 5th to 7th November, 2016. Three students such as

Shubham Shahu, Aarti Shahu and Akshay Shahu were participated in competition.

14. Picnic to Fun N Food

The one day college picnic to Fun N Food Village was arranged on 8thNovember, 2015. A

total of 134 students and 8 faculty members participated in the picnic. Two buses were

arranged for picnic.

15. Celebration of Raging Day Saptah

A public awareness programme for students of S. S. Maniar College of Computer and

Management, Nagpur, was organized by the Police Department of Kalamna on 7th January,

2016. On the occasion of Raging Day Saptah, Mr. Sunil Bonde, Assistant Police Officer,

Kalamna Police Station, Nagpur, delivered a talk on functioning of the police department. He

delivered a detailed and informative talk to motivate students by giving various real life

examples.

16. PRAYAS 2016

The annual social gathering was held in S. S. Maniar College of Computer and Management,

Nagpur from 4thto 11thJanuary,2016. For the first time this year students collected Rs. 8500/-

as sponsorship money from other organizations for making the event successful. Several

sports and competitive events were organized under the aegis of the Annual Social Gathering

PRAYAS 2016.There was an arrangement of delicious lunch for the students on 8th Jan 2016.

On the last day of the Annual Social Gathering, dignitaries of Shree Nagpur Gujrati Mandals,

Shri. Yogeshbhai Patel, President, Shri. Sundarbhai Patel, Secretary, Shri. Satishbhai Patel,

Treasurer, graced the occasion. Shri. Yogeshbhai Patel, President and Dr. (Mrs.) S. A.

Bhide, Director addressed the students on this occasion. Prizes were distributed by the

dignitaries to the toppers of 2014-15 and winners of all events of the gathering. All the

students enjoyed all the events of the gathering.

17. Participation of Students in Kalavishkar 2016 of VMV College

VMV Commerce, JMT Arts & JJP Science College, Nagpur had organized Inter Collegiate

Competitions KALAVISHKAR 2016 (The Youth Festival) for the students and teachers on

28th to 31st January, 2016. Mr. Mukesh Bhardwaj (BBA – I) was awarded first prize in Poetry

recitation competition. Winners received prizes and certificates at the hands of Mr. Subodh

Bhave (Actor – Director).

18. Medical Check-Up Camp for Students

Medical Check-up Camp was held for the students on 5th to 6thFebruary, 2016 in the college

premises. The arrangement for boys and girls was separate. Dr. Rajendraprasad Jain checked

boy’s students and Dr. Radhika Murkute checked girl students. The teachers provided

assistance to doctors for the medical examination. Maximum students participated in this

camp.

19. Blood Donation Camp

S. S. Maniar College of Computer and Management, Nagpur, conducted a Blood Donation

Camp in the campus in association with the Hedgewar Blood Bank on 6thFeb 2016, in the

college premises. Bunch of students and teachers participated and contributed in this camp by

donating blood. Many students voluntarily came up to donate the blood. Refreshments were

provided to students who participated in the camp.

20. Ayurvedic Camp

A free Ayurvedic Medical Camp conducted in S. S. Maniar College of Computer and

Management, Nagpur on 22nd February, 2016 for creating awareness about Ayurvedic

treatments and promoting holistic and balanced life through healthy habits and lifestyle.Mr.

Pawan Sonkusare with his team gave information to all teachers and students on various

diseases i.e. diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, thyroid, etc. which can be cured in home by

Ayurvedic treatment.

21. NSS Camp to Village Khapri (Raja)

Seven days NSS camp was organized in village Khapri (Raja) from 29th January to 04

February, 2016 by NSS Program Officer,Mr. Atul Akotkar & NSS Volunteers.
