The Commerce Department has been providing quality education since 2014 when B.Com (General) was started. Currently, 1483 students are pursuing B.Com. Programs in various disciplines. The department o�ers B.Com (CS), B.Com (Accounting and Finance), B.Com (Information System Management), and B.Com (Honours) due to the demand market needs. The B.Com (Honours) in Profes-sional Accounting is an Undergraduate Program in commerce, which is integrated, with the Association of International Certi�ed Professional Accountants (AICPA) - CIMA Curriculum. To create the need research pursuit of the students, the university is o�ering M.Com Program, currently, 13 students are pursuing the program. The department teaches the syllabi through learner-centered teaching methods such as case studies, role-play, �eld visits, and project work.

Sharp minds are at work at the Commerce Department, where students learn the latest trends in business, commerce, e-com-merce, and entrepreneurship. The syllabus is constantly updated to re�ect new trends in the subject and to take advantage of the latest infrastructure. Students also avail of a new state of the art computer lab. The students are also groomed to do well in Profes-sional entrance exams like CA, ICWA, ACS, etc. The department also organizes Career Guidance and Entrepreneurial Development Programs to upgrade their skills and make them industry-ready. The three-year UG degree program laid stress on vital subjects like Accounting, Taxation, Banking, Business Economics, Business Law, Statistics, Human Resource Management, and Tally.

The faculty's enthusiasm for the department to impart quality education is re�ected in the student's inclination for perfection. The scholarly faculty team guides students at every step, motivating them to become worthy managers and administrators in the �eld. They engage in various forums to constantly upgrade their skills and to ensure the students are well prepared to succeed. There are remedial classes organized for deserving students.

The Bio lab gives hands on experience to the students in all aspects of the subject. There are live and preserved specimens of plants and animals to facilitate course experiments.

The atom and molecules are the basic unit or compo-nents of Chemistry. The study of chemists is always interested in identifying and knowing how the chemi-cal transformation occurs.

Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication (B.Sc Vis Com) is an innovative Graduate program that prepares students for careers in the media Industry or for advanced graduate study.

Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Program coordinates three distinct approaches to the media: practical application, historical study, and critical analysis. Practical application combines intensive training in Drawing & Painting, Graphic Design, 2D & 3D Animation Softwares, Camera, Light & Audio equipments operation, production design and a professional internship. About the Department

The painting studios are modern and well equipped with facilities for oil, acrylic, encaustic and mixed media. These are equipped with appropriate tables, easels, panel and wall space with palette surfaces.

We support all aspects of photographic image-mak-ing and a professional lighting studio. Workshops are o�ered each semester as requested by faculty and students.

The animation studio at SRMIST is equipped with software and hardware to do complete (pre to post production) animation projects. The software includes 2D production work, 3D projects and editing

Our classrooms are well ventilated, spacious and equipped with overhead and LCD projectors along with public address system with proper arrange-ments of Laptop power supply.

Department of English & Other Foreign Languages (EFL) strives at o�ering a �ne measure of innovative and balanced academic program and emphasizes high quality and value-based education. It aims at promoting intellectual growth through opportunities to study language and literature of Tamil, English and French. The English faculty members are focused on an exclusive study dedicated to learning and understanding the origin of English language and literature. They constantly strive at enhancing the language skills and the con�dence of the students. They further groom their personality and prepare them for better career opportunities.

The Department of EFL o�ers Tamil and French as second languages to students of all disciplines. The language teachers teach the beauty and importance of language and literature to the modern generation. They set out to help the students gain pro�ciency and command in their chosen language and widen their career goals.

With a team of dedicated teachers and beautiful blend of their creative and methodical instructional knowledge, the department instills the passion for learning new languages. It insists upon maintaining academic excellence and standards to meet the global requirements.

Department of English & Other Foreign Languages

The Language Laboratory is equipped with 60 computers, LCD projector, television set, CD players and necessary software which aid in the development of LSRW skills in English and the other foreign languages. The Language Laboratory also has an area out�t-ted with a lectern and sound system, earmarked for presentations and group discussions. With a view to motivating the slow learn-ers and enhancing their communication skills a multi media laboratory has been set up with internet and online facilities. This also helps to train students who appear for TOEFL, IELTS, GRE and other competitive examinations.

The Department of English and Foreign Languages has a well-stocked library catering to the varied interests of students and faculty.
