Accountability Lab
Website Redesign
ChallengeIn three and a half years, Accountability Lab has been able to lay the groundwork of a sustainable brand with a
global following. The corporate colors, logo and some styles have been established. A current website exists,
www.accountabilitylab.org.
However, our work and our thinking has evolved over time and the website no longer clearly explains what we
do. Furthermore, as we've sought to accommodate our rapid growth using our original website infrastructure,
it has become cluttered with information and confusing to navigate. We have received widespread feedback
that we need to communicate our mission and model in a more clear and simple way.
Thus, the Lab is looking to build a next generation website. We would this site to tell an engaging story of what
we do, and move people to get involved. Furthermore, we would like to make our website more accessible
through a responsive design for mobile devices, connection to Google Translation, and well-organized content.
This is an exciting opportunity to create a website that is seen by over 100,000 people from 178 countries each
year, and is raising awareness on one of the world's most critical issues.

• Intuitive navigation, easy for the user to find what they're looking for
• Responsive design
• The user can select the language through Google Translate, like this

Measures of Success:
• Increase in session length and number of pages visited (per Google Analytics)
• Increase in social media sharing from the website

Message and Tone:
We want to tell a concise and direct story of what we do and how we do it. It should be simple enough that
anyone new to the topic can understand, but have links to enough information that an accountability expert
will still be interested and impressed. We want it to be impact-oriented, showing both the quantitative and
qualitative impact of our work through our impact numbers, demonstration of our own accountability, and
stories of our accountapreneurs and the changes they've been able to make to people's lives. We want to
convey our personal passion for building accountability and supporting local ideas, and our empathy for those
who are suffering from a lack of accountability. Through lots of visuals, we want to engage, excite and inspire
people. We all audiences to see accountability as an issue that is relevant to them, build an emotional
connection, and find a way that they can get involved. Overall, we seek to come across as honest, transparent,
collaborative and creative.

Scope of Services
DiscoveryThe initial phase for building a successful website is discovery and strategy. Through interviews (if applicable),
site audits, and brainstorming, we gather as much information as possible about the project. This process helps
the team identify project goals and objectives, obtain existing assets such as creative briefs, branding
guidelines, logos, brochures and site analytics reports to create objectives for the new site.
Responsive Design and DevelopmentCSL will implement responsive web design architecture, optimizing the new site for desktops and provides
"app-like" experiences on smartphones, tablets and e-readers. Doing so will ensure that visitors will enjoy an
optimal viewing experience no matter the device they choose to access the site from.
Wordpress Content Management System (CMS)Creative Science Labs will build the new website on the Wordpress CMS, an open source and ubiquitous
software maintained and developed by a global community. In doing so, we will provide HUMAN with an
extensible web platform that will enable its staff to maintain and update content on the website through easy-
to-use WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing tools.
There is no license fee for Wordpress. That said, we do recommend that you have a monthly service contract
with CSL so that the CMS and plugins are updated with the latest security patches. This can be discussed after
the development phase.
CSL will provide 3 hours of CMS training.
Copy & Images RefinementCSL will provide 5 hours to assist client with polishing up web copy and selecting images.

cases, that means we have ‘parity' with the client team where one of our creative scientists would be staffed to a client
counterpart:
Chris Fowler Account Director --> Top-line client contact
Lynette Sawyer Project Manager --> Day-to-day client
Javier Toledo Technical Project Manager --> Client IT/System Admin (if applicable)
Manny Regalado Lead Designer - No client counterpart. Available to join for calls.
Caleb Chicohay Lead Developer - No client counterpart. Available to join for calls.
In addition to those listed above, we also have UX/UI leads along with junior designers and developers that
help make our creative process more efficient and effective.
