It pays a cash settlement in case your loved ones should lose you to a fatal accident, and it pays cash to you for a covered injury. Coverage For Today’s Needs: This chart shows coverage amounts. Loss must be from a covered injury within 365 days of the accident. Coverage includes the no-cost Basic Coverage and a percent of Additional Coverage, if selected. Once you or your insured spouse reach age 70, the no-cost and additional coverage a mount for that person is reduced by 50%. Additional Coverage—Member Only Plan or Family Plan: If you request Additional Coverage, you may choose to protect yourself (Member Only Plan) or your family (Family Plan). Please indicate your choice on the Enrollment Form. Eligibility: Credit union members ages 18 and over, their spouses,* and their unmarried, dependent (or handicapped) children are eligible. Eligibility ages and requirements for dependent and handicapped children may vary by state, so it’s best to refer to the Certificate of Insurance or call for this information. * The definition of spouse includes a legal partner as defined by state law. This benefit is not available to members of Connecticut, Idaho or Minnesota credit unions. “Cost of Living” Benefit. Every two years, on the anniversary date of your enrollment, your Additional Coverage will be increased by 5%. This is at no added cost to you. This benefit will continue as long as you remain insured, or until your coverage has increased a full 25%. Safe Haven Rescue Zoo is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. Your contribution may be tax deductible.Save Haven Rescue Zoo is a charitable organization, and we rely completely on the generosity of public donations and support.

Safe Haven Rescue Zoo does not receive assistance from state or federal agencies.Safe Haven Rescue Zoo • P.O. Box 184 • Imlay, NV 89418 • (775) 538-7093 or (775) 304-5818 • www.safehavenwildlife.com

( )We provide rescue, rehabilitation, and release for orphaned and injured local wildlife. Local and exotic wildlife that cannot be released are given lifelong, loving care in our sanctuary program.

Sanctuary residents receive expert care from specialized veterinarians, an enrichment program for psychological health, operant conditioning for emergency and husbandry purposes, healthful diets, and housing that meets their individual needs.

[SALUTATION], if you’ve been touched by Max’s story, if you want to make more happy endings, if you want to be part of this important work, then I urge you to consider becoming a FRIEND OF SAFE HAVEN RESCUE ZOO for 2013.

With your membership and friendship we can have more rescues, more happy endings, more survivors like Max.

Massive resources are required to operate a facility like ours. It costs nearly $20,000 to construct an enclosure for an animal like Max, not to mention the additional thousands spent on food, veterinary care, and the other needs of our residents.

Your generous tax-deductible gift of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, or $30 will go a long way to ensuring that we have the resources to take care of Max and our other residents.

You may also earmark your generous contribution towards one of the specific wildlife that Safe Haven Rescue Zoo has rescued. Please see the enclosed response form for more information.

The illegal pet trade and private ownership of wild animals have long been major problems in the United States. A horrifying incident occurred in Zanesville, Ohio last year when fifty-six wild animals—cats, bears, primates, and more—were released from their cages by an owner who then committed suicide. Only six were recaptured; the rest were killed by law enforcement officers.

Overdue wildlife legislation and the effects of a struggling economy are creating an increasingly urgent need for lifelong placements for abandoned and confiscated wildlife. These uncertain economic times have put a greater strain on facilities such as Safe Haven, as people are abandoning their exotic pets in ever greater numbers. That is why Safe Haven Rescue Zoo exists.

I know that you have a heart to see wildlife treated humanely and with respect. That’s why I hope you will take the important step of becoming a FRIEND OF SAFE HAVEN RESCUE ZOO.

Please take a moment and become a FRIEND OF SAFE HAVEN RESCUE ZOO by filling out the enclosed form. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely yours,

Lynda SugasaExecutive Director

[MAIL_DATE][MAILNAME][ADDRESS1][ADDRESS2][CITY], [STATE] [ZIP]

Dear [SALUTATION],

Max’s story has a happy ending.

But many stories of animals kept in substandard conditions… abused… exploited… used for illegal breeding... don’t have happy endings.

When we first heard about Max, a ten-year-old cougar, he was confined in a dark, dank Texas pole barn. When his owner passed away, authorities discovered twenty big cats housed in deplorable conditions. Exotic cats are difficult to care for, and most people, even the most well-meaning, do not have the knowledge or resources to do so. Wild animals should not be kept as pets!

[SALUTATION], Max’s “cage” was a 10’x12’ horse stall. His neighbors, African lions and tigers, were able to reach into other cages, injuring—even killing—nearby animals. Grimy, high-placed windows admitted only dim light—no fresh air, no glimpse of the outside world. Food was supplied only sporadically, often in plastic grocery bags that were eaten by the starving cats. Many went without water for long periods of time.

Although cougars can live twenty years or more, Max had no expectation of that as he watched his fellow inmates languish and die. The bones of a cougar, one not as lucky as Max, were discovered buried under several inches of filthy, matted straw. Two other surviving cats suffered leg fractures—but had received no veterinary care.

After ten years in that cramped, filthy stall, with dirty water, not enough food, no fresh air, and no sunshine, rescue came to that pole barn just in time. Max’s life at Safe Haven is now one of nutritious food, endless fresh drinking water, room to run and play, a den filled with clean straw, the wind in his face, and sunshine so bright that he squints his eyes as he basks in its warmth.

Why did Safe Haven accept Max, a “senior citizen” with expensive medical needs brought on by age and a lifetime of deprivation?

Because we believe that after spending ten miserable years in such a terrible environment, Max deserves the right to enjoy his remaining years in peace and dignity, with the very best life has to offer. That’s what is in our heart for Max and other wildlife that need our help. That’s why in 2006 I founded Safe Haven Rescue Zoo, a non-profit, 501(c)3 accredited organization.

Safe Haven is not a typical “zoo.” We are an accredited premier rescue/sanctuary organization. Our mission is not to collect or exhibit animals, but to save and protect wildlife.

(Over, please…)

PERSONAL REPLY CARD

Lower taxes. More jobs. Walmart is good for Green Bay.

In 2012, Walmart spent $3.5 billion* with

Wisconsin suppliers.

Walmart would create 300 jobs at a new downtown

store in Green Bay.

Walmart is an important neighbor in the community and supports many of our great local

organizations through the Walmart Foundation and other philanthropic giving.

Small business needs traffic to thrive and survive

A Walmart store is a proven anchor, and can provide a steady flow of customer traffic1 to this important developing business district. In many communities, areas around Walmart quickly attract small businesses that know the benefits of being where the customers are found. There are many vacancies in the downtown area near this site that Walmart will help make marketable because of their proximity to a proven anchor. Some communities have asked Walmart to consider relocating to downtown areas to draw customer traffic2, or as in Sturgeon Bay and Sun Prairie, worked to keep the Walmart in its current location to support important business corridors.

Downtown Green Bay has been designated a USDA food desert3

At Walmart, we believe everyone should have access to fresh and affordable food, and that leads to a higher quality of life in urban areas. Walmart participates in the Healthy Foods Initiative, a goal of which is to address food deserts and increase the health and wellness of people living in our nation’s cities. A downtown store would have pedestrian, bike and public transportation amenities, making it easier for urban dwellers to save money, and live better.

Green Bay needs jobs

Not only will Walmart support about 300 jobs at a new downtown store, but Walmart is already supporting jobs with local Green Bay suppliers. In fact, Walmart purchases more than $3.5 billion of goods and services in the state of Wisconsin. Some of our Green Bay suppliers include Schreiber Foods, Schneider Trucking, Georgia Pacific, Immel Construction, and BelGioioso Cheese.4

Improve tax base and property values

A recent study says that when a Walmart opens, houses within a half-mile can see their value rise two to three percent, with those within a mile climbing about one percent.5 And commercial real estate becomes more valuable with proven anchors such as Walmart that produce the traffic small businesses need to be successful. Walmart is one of the largest taxpayers in the state of Wisconsin, and building a stable and diverse tax base is a goal of every Wisconsin community.

Successful development builds on the strengths of the current economy

In today’s economy, customers are seeking low prices to stretch their dollars, and we know that customers also care about supporting their community. Last year, Walmart’s charitable giving set a record with $1 billion in donations to charities6 in the communities we call home, including in Green Bay. Walmart is also selling more local products, and working to bring more than $50 billion of manufacturing back to the US7. More than 89% of Americans will shop at Walmart this year, whether a store is built at this location or not.

Downtown residents need lower priced general merchandise too

Walmart locates its store, in part, to be closer to customers who are currently commuting to shop at other area Walmarts. Today, Walmart's downtown Green Bay customers are traveling to the east or west sides of Green Bay or even to DePere to shop. Downtown Green Bay residents would benefit from being able to shop for all types of merchandise at a downtown Walmart closer to home.

ABOUT THE WISCONSIN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, led by Maestro Andrew Sewell, is a vibrant and thriving professional orchestra dedicated to connecting its audiences to the power of music. The WCO performs approximately 25 concerts per year, including Concerts on the Square®, Masterworks, Holiday Pops, Handel’s Messiah, Youth Concerts, and other performances across the state. With a core orchestra of 34 musicians and a permanent home in Overture Center for the Arts magnificent Capitol Theater, we are one of the finest chamber orchestras in the country.

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra relies upon the generosity of donors like you to sustain its performances and youth programs.

The program will feature pieces by Elgar, Shostakovich, and Mussorgsky as well as the WCO Concerto Competition soloist accompanied by WCO.

It is our expectation that through this experience of rehearsing alongside, interacting with, and performing in the company of a professional orchestra, WYSO members will both increase their appreciation for and participation in music for years to come.

Imagine the potential each of those 100 students has to continue to develop their musical skill and help grow a love of music in others they will meet throughout a lifetime.

In addition to the youth concert programs, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is committed to getting students “closer to the music” by offering free tickets to local schools throughout the year. In addition to providing free concerts and tickets, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra musicians also visit area schools to demonstrate concert programming and answer questions.

Would you consider giving a special contribution to help the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra continue to invest in the musical future of our youth? We need to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of the Side by Side Concert, as well as our Youth Concert in March – which is free to the public and is an invaluable inspiration in the lives of young musicians and audience members.

[SALUTATION], please consider giving a tax-deductible gift of [$ASK1], [$ASK2], or [$ASK3] toward the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra Side by Side Concert and other youth educational programs.

In a time when access to music hangs in the balance for our young people, your generous partnership will ensure that the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra can continue enriching our youth with the gift of music.

Providing our youth this opportunity is something we cannot do without you. Thanks again for your support.

Sincerely,

Maestro Andrew Sewell Music Director

P.S. [SALUTATION], your gift will allow the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra to provide young people priceless – and FREE – opportunities to be introduced to and grow in appreciation for music. Would you help us reach our goal of $50,000 for our youth programs by returning your generous gift of [$ASK1], [$ASK2], or [$ASK3] today?

I hope you’ll join us for one of the remaining performances of this season’s fantastic lineup, or for the Side by Side concert with WYSO on May 17th. I guarantee the young talent will astound you – Andrew.

Dear [SALUTATION],

In January, I had the distinct pleasure of conducting world renowned pianist and friend, Ilya Yakushev as he joined the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for a breathtaking performance of majestic chamber pieces. Yakushev, an accomplished and decorated pianist, received his first award at age 12 as a prizewinner of the Young Artists Concerto Competition in his native St. Petersburg.

[SALUTATION], it is incredible to think about the potential that resided in Yakushev at just 12 years old.

Today’s headlines speak of schools cutting music programs, children spending more time sitting idly in front of screens, and sharply declining numbers of children learning how to play an instrument. Imagine a child’s potential for music going untapped because he or she simply wasn’t given the opportunity to discover it.

Because we believe music can change and enrich lives, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is committed to introducing children in Wisconsin to classical music and doing what we can to increase their access to and passion for music. Last year, we reached over 3,000 children in Wisconsin through our Youth Concerts and educational programs – one of our most successful years yet!

We are looking forward to hosting our annual Youth Concerts on March 11th, where we will welcome elementary aged children for a free concert and educational programs centered around the musical concept of melody and the music of the Mississippi, featuring music by Copland, Custer, Proto, and Smith.

At a time when helping children discover classical music is more crucial than ever, we are so grateful for the partnership of our audience members and financial supporters like you. We could not pass on the power of music to the next generation through our Youth Concerts without your support!

In addition to the Youth Concerts, I am excited to share that WCO will once again join the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra in a collaborative Side by Side performance this spring.

Around 100 high school aged members of WYSO will play alongside up to 50 members of WCO for this free concert at the Overture Hall in the Overture Center on Sunday, May 17th at 4 P.M.
