Advanced Features AC Frequency Hertz, Hz. Lower frequency results in a wider bead, high frequency results in a more focused bead.
AC Balance % Electrode Negative. Lower AC Balance results in an arc with more cleaning action. Higher AC Balance results in an arc with higher penetration. Pulse PPS, Pulses per Second. Lower PPS results in moderation of filler metal composition. Higher PPS manages heat input and minimizes material distortion.

Forney®PlasmaCuttersAir Plasma (PAC)
Plasma: the fourth state of matter is an electrically conductive, ionized gas. ® plasma machines use air in combination with a constant DC power source to create and maintain the plasma arc. A non‐HF, AC arc starting circuit produces up to 10,000 volts creating the ionized gas inside the torch producing a plasma arc for cutting. Amperage determines the speed and cutting thickness capabilities of the system. While air is converted to plasma during start and cutting, it is also used for cooling parts after usage.

TungstenElectrodesClassifications&CharacteristicsAWS
Classification Description Type Typical Application Characteristics Overview Radioactive
EWP Pure Tungsten
Tungsten unalloyed, pure
Aluminum, Magnesium Provides good arc stability for AC welding. Reasonably good resistance to contamination. Least expensive. Maintains balled end.
No
EWCe‐2 2% Ceriated Tungsten
Tungsten with 1.8%‐2.2% Cerium Oxide (ceria)
Orbital Welding, Pipe Fabrication, thin sheet metal, small delicate parts, DC: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel, Titanium
Similar performance to thoriated tungsten. Easy arc starting, good arc stability, long life. Possible replacement to thoriated.
No
EWLa‐1.5 EWLa‐1.5 Tungsten
Tungsten with 1.3%‐1.7% lanthanum oxide
Similar performance to thoriated tungsten. Easy arc starting, good arc stability, long life. High current capacity. Possible replacement to thoriated.
No
EWTh‐2 EWTh‐2 Tungsten
Tungsten with 1.7%‐2.2% thorium
AC: thin‐gauge DC: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel, Titanium
Easier arc starting. Higher current capacity. Greater arc stability. High resistance to weld pool contamination. Difficult to maintain balled end on AC.
Yes
EWZr‐1 EWZr‐1 Tungsten
Tungsten with 0.15%‐0.40% zirconium oxide (zirconia)
Excellent for AC welding due to favorable retention of balled end, high resistance to contamination, and good arc starting. Preferred when tungsten contamination of weld is intolerable.

WeldingChemicalsAnti‐Spatter
Common Features Non‐Flammable
Does not contain Silicon
Solvent Based Formula 200
Water Based, Biodegradable Formula 400
Premium, High Temperature Formula 402
Water Based, Robotic Protectant,
Bio‐Degradable, Formula 398 Provides protection to MIG gun
nozzles, contact tips, accessories and all weld zones during single and multi‐pass welding.
Provides weld prep protection on parts to be stored.
Requires little cleaning prior to painting when applied properly.
Liquid may be applied by brush or roller.
A safe and environmentally friendly alternative to solvent based anti‐spatter.
Prevents weld spatter from adhering to MIG gun nozzles, contact tips and related accessories.
Allows for pre‐heat and higher temperature applications.
Oversized nozzle allows for product use without glove removal.
Paint compatible. Recommended for water‐based paints.
Easily removed with water rinse.
Contains no chlorinated solvents, fluorocarbons, silicones or hydrocarbon compounds.
Non‐Toxic Anti‐Spatter is specifically developed for high temperature applications up to 400°.
This revolutionary formula contains a heavier molecular weight than most water based anti‐spatters for a thicker, higher viscosity material. The proprietary anti‐corrosion additive will also protect against rusting.
402 can be sprayed or brushed on and can be welded through while wet or after drying.
402 is paint compatible and easily wipes away with water or a damp cloth and leaves no residue.
402 does not contain any chlorinated solvents, will not carbonize and is odor free.
A safe and environmentally friendly alternative to solvent based robotic anti‐spatter for use in automatic injection systems.
Formulated to protect robotic nozzles and contact tips from spatter build‐up during welding operations.
Will not damage most gaskets, seals or reservoirs. Use in accordance with robotic torch manufacturer's recommendations.

GasEquipmentAccessories
Welding,Cutting&HeatingHose
Common Features Hoses are color coded: Red for fuel gas; Green for oxygen and Black for inert.
Recommend use of 1‐inch ferrules only.
Non‐Conductive. 200 Psig Maximum Working Pressure.
Welding Hose Caution: Warning: THE USE OF CERTAIN FUEL GASES MAY DAMAGE WELDING HOSE AND LEAD TO FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS.
Use only Grade T hose with PROPANE, PROPYLENE or any similar fuel gas ‐ Do not exceed 40 Psig working pressure.
Use Grade R, RM or T hose with Acetylene ‐ Do not exceed 15 Psig working pressure.
Use Grade Inert with inert gas, water or air only. Warning: The CGA (Compressed Gas Association) recommends the exclusive use of Grade T hose because of its gas compatibility, oil resistance and flame resistance. Exclusive use of Grade T hose eliminates the incorrect application of other grades of hose. Refer to CGA document SB‐11‐2004 for more information. In‐Service Caution: 1) Shut gas off at the torch and then the regulator or supply source when the torch will not be used for more than 30 minutes, to limit the permeation of gas through the hose wall. 2) Do not shut off the fuel gas at the regulator or supply source first as a FLASHBACK may result damaging the hose, regulator or possibly causing injury or death. 3) Adequate ventilation must be provided in confined spaces where fuel gases are being used to prevent the accumulation or concentration of gas that could be explosive or otherwise harmful to personnel

1. As a rule of thumb, start with a shade that is too dark to see the weld zone. Then go to a lighter shade which gives sufficient view of the weld zone
without going below the minimum. In oxy/fuel gas welding or cutting where the torch produces a high yellow light, it is desirable to use a filter
lens that absorbs the yellow or sodium line in the visible light of the (spectrum) operation.2. These values apply where the actual arc is clearly seen. Experience has shown that lighter filters may be used when the arc is hidden by the
workpiece.
