Accessing education is a basic human right; it is education that can lift people out of chronic poverty,

raise aspirations, and create the opportunity to live life with purpose. But for many children and young

people, every day at school is a struggle. In fact, the current situation across the UK is really

challenging…

The number of 5-16 year old children excluded from school each year is so big that they would fill

Wembley arena 22 times over.

Children with free school meals are four times more likely to get a permanent exclusion from

school.

More than two thirds of the current prison population were excluded from school.

One in seven 16-24 year old ’NEETs’ (those not in Education, Employment or Training) die within ten years of falling out of the system.

TLG is a Christian charity, passionate about bringing a practical approach that builds strong

connections between local churches, families and schools. We want to give children and their families

a second chance and show them that they are not alone in the struggles that they face.

Our vision is for churches everywhere to be enabled to become the place that disadvantaged children

and their families turn to for help, ensuring children thrive in their education and stay on course.
