Project Plan for the Toowong to Indooroopilly commuter bikeway – Indooroopilly Road upgrade The plan is west facing and shows Indooroopilly Road running south to north from Lambert Road at Indooroopilly to the intersection of Gailey Road and Josling Street at Toowong. The map shows the overall layout of the cycle facility upgrades along Indooroopilly Road and adjoining streets. The project will install new bicycle lanes and Bicycle Awareness Zones (BAZ) to improve safety and connectivity for cyclists between Perrin Park and Indooroopilly train station. The bicycle lanes will be installed at select locations on Indooroopilly Road, including between Lambert Road and Todd Street, between Dopson Street and Swann Road, and near the intersections of Seven Oaks Street and Westerham Street. To complete the safety improvements a BAZ will be installed along Indooroopilly Road to fill in the gaps between the new bicycle lanes. The works will include installing a BAZ along Todd Street and Dopson Street at Taringa to improve accessibility for cyclists connecting onto the Toowong to Indooroopilly commuter bikeway. The project will install a traffic island at the intersection of Westerham Street and Indooroopilly Road to improve visibility for cyclists on this high speed section of road. The works to install the new cycle facility upgrades will be undertaken out of hours to ensure the safety of motorists and workers while minimising traffic disruptions to the local area. The project is part of the Toowong to Indooroopilly commuter bikeway upgrade and will improve safety and accessibility for cyclists connecting onto Indooroopilly Road.
