Master Slides – What are they?

Set of style pages for different layout formats

Change in template design automatically reformats slides

Can create your own master layouts to suit your needs

Can add additional ‘place holders’ to existing layouts

Why are Slide Layouts Important?

Provide Placeholders which are displayed on the Outline (picked up by screen readers)

Tip: If text boxes are added in individual slides they do not appear on the outline and are not read by screen reader.

The Importance of Titles

Include titles on each slideAdds navigation for screen readersSimilar to Headings in WordTip: If you don’t want to “see”

Reading Order

If text boxes are added in individual slides they do not appear on the outline and are not read by screen reader.

In PDF, text boxes will be read in the order that you put them in. Check reading order pane (Home > Arrange > Selection Pane)
