description

Accessible and energy-efficient mobility for all! Project ISEMOA – Improving seamless energy-efficient mobility chains for all  Thus there’s a high potential for energy-savings in transport, when public space and public transport would be accessible for all Background PRM currently represent more than a third of the European population (about 10% of the population are disabled people, but PRMs include for example also people with heavy luggage, with small children, temporary impairments, people with communication problems,…) PRM are currently more dependent on car use than other people since PRM usually face a lot of barriers both in public space and in public transport.

Accessible and energy-efficient mobility for all!

Project ISEMOA – Improving seamless energy-efficient mobility chains for all

• ISEMOA encourages and supports municipalities, cities and regions to improve the accessibility of their public spaces and public transport, and thus to enable all their inhabitants and visitors (including PRM*) to adopt a less car-dependent lifestyle.

• The ISEMOA quality management scheme (moderated audit-process) has been implemented in 18 municipalities/cities/regions in 14 European countries.

Thus there’s a high potential for energy-savings in transport, when public space and public transport would be accessible for all

Background

• PRM currently represent more than a third of the European population (about 10% of the population are disabled people, but PRMs include for example also people with heavy luggage, with small children, temporary impairments, people with communication problems,…)

• PRM are currently more dependent on car use than other people since PRM usually face a lot of barriers both in public space and in public transport.

Objectives

• by increasing the accessibility of public transport and thus increasing the quality and attractiveness of public transport

• by increasing the accessibility of public spaces and thus enabling PRM to walk and cycle safely

• by improving the accessibility of day-to-day services for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users

Encourage and support local and regional authorities and entities to enable PRM to adopt less car-dependent lifestyles

Support learning and know-how exchanges between practitioners, employees of administrative bodies, and experts through audits and networking activities
