900 students utilize Accessible Education center (AEC)

Estimated 10% of these students are in need of special accommodations in class rooms

Inadequate and Insufficient resources for the students requiring accommodations

SITUATION

Special Desks are often not in classes when needed

Lumbar chairs are not provided, but they are needed

Students are placed in awkward situations

By time desk is found, 30 minutes of class is wasted

OBJECTIVES

Ensure that any student with any disability is accommodated for no matter what they need

NO LOST CLASS TIME FOR ANYONE

Eliminate all discomfort for all students

Allocate designated areas throughout campus to store the equipment

Implement a tracking system

Reduce labor cost

Research shows that the University of Oregon does not provide specially designed chairs for disabled students, yet there is a demand for them

No inventory for amount of desks provided, more are needed

No storage areas on campus

Lack of efficient tracking system

Increase the quantity of the specially designed desks available and purchase lumbar support designed chairs for use by students with disabilities.  

Increase the efficiency in tracking the equipment.

Provide Equal education to every student accepted to the University of Oregon ensuring the most diverse educational environment.
