Masters of Science in Accountancy General Program

In the General MSA program, students take one or two courses per term; the entire program thus encompasses at least two academic years. In the Accelerated MSA program, students take three courses per term, enabling completion in a single calendar year. Both programs meet the “accounting study” requirements for CPA licensure in California.

The accelerated Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program is designed for working professionals who wish to advance their careers, either as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in some other area of accounting. Students in the accelerated program take three courses per quarter to complete the program within one year.

The program, comprising 45 quarter units, features multidisciplinary,

applied courses, enabling students to become co-creators of

knowledge with faculty. Some of the courses include:

• Accounting Ethics

• Assurance and Regulation in Accounting

• Business Valuation Using Financial Statements

• Contemporary Accounting Issues

• Fraud and Forensic Accounting

• Internal Control and Corporate Governance

• Management Control in Not-for-Profit Organizations

• Strategic Tax Planning

Program Features

• Accelerated MSA students finish in one year

• Combination of face-to-face, online and hybrid classes.

rigorous “academically qualified” standard within the College

• Courses are multidisciplinary and applied, preparing graduates

to work effectively in the field

• The Accelerated MSA meets the “accounting study”

requirements for CPA licensure in California
