Migración infraestructura SAP a AWS

Sobre Barceló Hotel Group

El Desafío

• 2006 se inicia la Implantación de distintos entornos SAP: CRM, ERP, XI, BI

• 2006 hasta 2014 se tienen los sistemas SAP alojados en un datacenter con

máquinas físicas y un proveedor de servicios de mantenimiento

• 2014, por un cambio de estrategia, se lleva toda la infraestructura a Cloud

privado, con un nuevo proveedor de servicios de mantenimiento. Por problemas

de rendimiento sobre BBDD, se optó por una solución de infraestructura mixta

• Julio de 2017, con el vencimiento del contrato, se plantea el cambio definitivo a

una solución cloud 100%, apostando por una mejora de la tecnología que nos

permita seguir evolucionando y absorber el crecimiento continuo que se requiere

• Marzo 2017 se lanza RFP (request for proposal) para la selección del proveedor

Cloud público y del partner tecnológico encargado de la migración y de los

servicios de mantenimiento

Por qué AWS

• Ofrece el acompañamiento tecnológico a la decisión estratégica del cambio de

modelo de infraestructura, migrando todos nuestros sistemas a un modelo Cloud

• Solución que permite cubrir las necesidades de crecimiento que nos requiere la

Por qué Linke

• Su propuesta era competitiva

• En la defensa del RFP, demostraron un conocimiento del entorno AWS y de la

migración integra, con referencias reales

• La toma de decisión se retrasó internamente y la migración se tuvo que realizar

en la mitad de tiempo. Linke no tuvo problemas en apurar el calendario y

ajustarse al mes y medio que se estableció finalmente

• El equipo de Avoris había hecho el mismo camino de migración de sus sistemas

SAP a AWS de la mano de Linke y la experiencia había sido positiva

Se priorizaron los entornos del ERP y PI (corte de servicio de 48horas)

Posteriormente se liberaron resto de entornos según prioridad establecida (1 semana)

La migración fue realizada por Linke en tiempo y forma acordado


Entorno post-migración

• 29 instancias en Amazon EC2 (mayormente de la familia r4)

• Amazon S3 como servicio de almacenamiento para los backups de los aplicativos

SAP

• Amazon Simple Email Service ( Amazon SES) como servicio de email para los

aplicativos SAP

• Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) para establecer conexión de red virtual

privada y segura entre las sedes y AWS


Resultados migración

• Entorno SAP 100% virtualizado sobre Amazon AWS

• Eliminación de VPN entre las sedes y entornos SAP al realizar conexión por SAP

Router

• Mejora de rendimiento entorno ERP entre un 20 – 25% simplemente por el

cambio de infraestructura

• Mejora de rendimiento entorno BI

• Mejora tiempos de acceso a Base de Datos aproximadamente 40%


Próximos pasos

• Ampliación del ecosistema con nuevas instancias EC2 para dar servicio a SAP Fiori

• Instalación addon S3 for SAP desarrollado por Linke, permitiendo almacenar

documentos adjuntos de SAP en S3 en vez de almacenarlos en la Base de Datos

• Servidor front end para aplicación móvil + balanceador + certificado.
