The School of Open Learning, formely known as the Directorate of Correspondence Courses, Established under the University of Delhi in 1962, is a pioneer institution in the field of Distance Education in India.
The country witnessed the beginning of an alternate mode of education when the School started with a modest admission of 900 students in 1962. The School enrolled around 5 lakh students in the Academic Session 2019-20. On many occasions our students have been toppers in a range of disciplines.
The admission process for various courses in the School is governed by the norms established by the University of Delhi. The examination is also conducted by the University of Delhi. The Univers ity of Delhi confers the degree to the students of the School as it does in the case of its other constituent colleges. In an effort to cater to the needs of a growing number of students the School established the South Study Centre at Moti Bagh from the academic session 1990-91. In an effort to reach out to a larger number of students the School is in the process of opening up Study Centres and Regional Centres in the National Capital Region of Delhi especially East and West Study Centres.
The School offers Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree courses in the subjects of Arts/Humanities and Commerce. The mode of instruction is primarily through well prepared course material in hard and soft copy which is provided at the time of admission to all the enrolled students. This is also supplemented with a Personal Contact Programme conducted for the benefit of students at various study centres run by the school. An experienced faculty is always available at the main campus for academic interaction with students.
The School offers learning through the distance education mode which is a viable alternative for students who
need a flexible medium of instruction to attain higher education and vocational skills.
This Prospectus contains essential information for all those who have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, or an Examination recognized as equivalent there to and wish to seek admission to various undergraduate courses offered by the School of Open Learning, University of Delhi.
From the academic session 2019-20 SOL has implemental Choice Based Credit System (CBSE) Semester mode in all UG Courses, as has been implemented in Regular Colleges of the University of Delhi.
Details about various undergraduate courses offered, minimum eligibility conditions for admission to these courses and the admission procedure are outlined in the subsequent sections. Effort has been made to summarize all important information for the candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate courses being offered, however, clarifications for any specific case for which guidelines are not provided herein may be obtained from the School.
An Enrolment/Admission/Examination/Form is included in this Prospectus. However, it will be
used in very exceptional circumstances.

2.2 ONLINE & OFFLINE Admission Facility
To provide Students Support Services at the door step of the students SOL has revamped its admission procedure. Admission facility in all Undergraduate Courses through ONLINE (Through SOL website).

3. Fill all the relevant information in the Course Details page/personal details page.
4. Upload all the relevant documents. (legible/clear)

2.3. Span Period of Study to Complete the Course
The Undergraduate Courses offered by the school have a specified minimum and maximum allowed span period for completing the same. These stipulations are to be strictly observed during the course of study at the School. Specified

The School remains open for interaction with students on all working days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Office of the School remains closed on Saturdays, Sundays and other declared Holidays.

(II) Students passed from CBSE 2020 (Delhi Region),
opted compulsory language course as English-C/ Hindi C/Punjabi-B/Urdu-B/Tamil-B of the B. Com and B.A. Programe and student applying forB.Com(Hons.)/ B.A.(Hons.) English & B.A.(Hons.)Pol.Sci. have to uploaded following documents:

2. Self Attested copy of Class-X Marksheet.
3. Self Attested copy of Class-XII Marksheet. ·
(III) For students from other than CBSE Boards, CBSE
compartment cases and CBSE (Non-Delhi Region)

(IV) DETERMINATION OF THE ELIGIBILITY OF DIPLOMA IN
ENGINEERING TECHNICAL EDUCATION:
The Academic Council of the University of Delhi has approved the recommendations of the Equivalence Committee of the Academic Council in its meeting held on 21st March, 2018 that the candidates having three year engineering diploma (10 + 3) from the Board of Technical Education of different states of India shall be eligible to seek admission in 1st year of Undergraduate Courses in School of Open Learning. The Following documents will be required for the purpose: 1. Recent Photograph and Signature. (in proper size) 2. Self-attested copy of Class-X Certificate and
Marksheet. 3. Self-attested copy of semester V and VI (Final Year
Marksheet) 4. Self-attested copy of Provisional certificate (Most
Important)
(V) Students applying against the reserved (SC/ST/ OBC/PWD etc.) and BPL category have to upload the following documents, as applicable, in addition to the above-mentioned documents.
1. Self-attested copy of Reserve Category Certificate of the candidates only, if applicable (SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. candidates)
certificate of the candidate must have been issued before the date of admission.
2. Self-attested copy of Original Income Certificate, if applying for fee concession/Financial Assistance.
3. Self -attested copy of BPL/AAY Ration Card, if applying for Financial Assistance.
2.5.2 For PWD, NHE, FSR applicants
For Online admission process all essential documents to be submitted at the time of submission of Admission Form are as follows:
1. Self-attested photocopy of Class-X Certificate and Marksheet.
2. Self-attested photocopy of Class-XII Certificate and Marksheet (current students can submit Original Provisional Certificate).
3. Original copy of Migration Certificate/ Transfer Certificate (if the candidates studied from the boards other than Delhi
like NIOS, UP, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan etc.). 4. Self-attested photocopy of Reserve Category Certificate of the candidates belonging to SC/ST Category and in case of PWD Category Disability Certificate with minimum 40% disability issued by any Government Hospital. The certificate of the candidate must have been issued before the date of admission. 5. Original Income Certificate, if applying for fee concession/
Financial Assistance. 6. Self-attested photocopy of AAY Ration Card, for Financial assistance.
2.6 Additional Information 1. Students already on rolls need not apply for
admission afresh for II/ Ill Year.
2. Only girl students can opt for Home Science (N.H.E.). Their
forms will be accepted only at School of Open Learning, North
Campus, University of Delhi. (See Page no- 28)
The original Category Certificate of SC/ST/OBC/PWD along with self-attested photocopy thereof is required for
verification.
After verification, only the self-attested photocopy is
retained with the Admission Form and original Certificate
is immediately handed back to the candidate.
3. The OBC status is to be determined on the basis of the
central list of OBCs notified by the Ministry of Social
Justice & Empowerment on the recommendation of National Commission for backward classes. The total
number of seats in each course and the number of seats for various reserved categories including
OBC/SC/ST & PWD etc. would be as per the directions from Delhi University/UGC.
4. If any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any course in the University or its college(s) for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz. 470 , 471 , 474 etc.) will be instituted against him/her to the requisite criminal proceeding.
5. All admissions are provisional till the verification of original certificates and confirmation by the University of Delhi.
The School reserves the right to cancel the provisional admission and/or the result of the examination of
concerned degree course of any student at any time.
6. Those students who are enrolled as regular students in any of the colleges/Departments/Institutions or enrolled with the School of Open Learning, Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board and the Teacher Candidates at one time
need not fill Enrolment form again. Enrolment no. once allotted remains the same.
7. As per A.C. Resolution No. 40 dt. 24.4.1997 no student of the university is permitted to pursue two courses simultaneously either in Delhi and / or some other University, except the part-time diplomas/ certificates of the University of Delhi.
8. There is no restriction on admission in any course for gap year students.
9. There is no provision of admission for compartmental candidates in Under-graduate Courses.
10. The original Provisional Certificate or original Migration Certificate submitted by candidate at the time of admission will not be returned under any circumstances.
No person who has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude shall be admitted to a course of study or permitted to take any examination of the University until a period of two years has elapsed from the date of expiry of the sentence imposed on him/her. However, the Academic Council may, in a special case, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.

11. A candidate who registers himself/herself under SC/ST Category is required to produce the Category Certificate of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe in his/her own name. The Issuing Authority of the SC/ST Certificate must be any one of the following:
i) District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate /
Collector I Deputy Commissioner / Additional
Deputy Commissioner I Deputy Collector / First
Class Stipendiary Magistrate / City Magistrate /
Assistant Commissioner.
ii) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate.
iii) Revenue Officers not below the rank of Tehsildar.
iv) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate or his family normally resides.
v) Administrator / Secretary to
Administrator / Development Officer
(Laccadive and Minicoy Island).

12. Aggregate marks in respect of examinations where the results are shown in grades and standards attained in different subjects (such as the Pre-University /Pre-Degree Examination etc.) the minimum percentage of the marks for subjects given in standards is taken into account.
13. Candidates must ensure their respective eligibilities to the course to which they apply. The School reserves the right to cancel any admission at any stage if the candidate is found to be ineligible as per rules and regulations prescribed by the University from time to time. For any dispute jurisdiction shall be the Delhi Courts only.
14. As per university notification vide letter No. Acad. l/Equivalance/2012/143 dated 28th May 2012 : "The Committee recommended that the Madarsa affiliated with the corresponding State Madarsa Boards and the certificates/
qualifications of the Madarsa Boards which have been granted equivalence by the corresponding State Board of Education to that of their Senior Secondary Education, Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) and/or by any other School Examination Board be recognized at par with Senior Secondary Certificate of CBSE for the purpose of admission in the Under-graduate courses.
15. Candidates who have passed the Matriculation or the S.S.L.C., S.S.C. or Higher Secondary (11 year schooling) examination only, are not eligible for admission to UG Course.

2.9. Activities Conducted at South Study Centre
The following services are provided at the South Study Centre of the School.
a) Submission of First year Admission Form of B.A.(Prog.)/B.Com. (including Offline PWD cases)
b) Distribution of Study Material to the students of I, II and Ill
year of B.A.(Programme) and B.Com.
c) Demand & Collection of fees for II and Ill year of
B.A.(Progrmame) and B.Com.
d) Facility of borrowing books from the Library and use of
Reading Room.
e) Facility of fee-concession, financial assistance and
borrowing of textbooks from the 'Book-Bank' to the low
income group students.
f) Commencement of Academic Counselling Session on
working days/Saturdays/Sundays.
g) Examination Forms with fees from the students
admitted/promoted at South Study Centre for B.A
(Programme)/B.Com. II/III year are processed.
h) Students get their results, duplicate Admit cards, mark sheets, provisional certificates, Bona-fide Certificates and "No Dues Certificates" also from the South Study
Centre.
The School offers Courses in Arts / Humanities and Commerce streams of study at the Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate level. The Undergraduate courses are CBCS (LOCF) Semester System and minimum three year duration while the Postgraduate courses CBCS (LOCF) Semester System minimum two year duration.

The minimum requirements for admission to various Undergraduate courses offered by the School are summarized below. Various aspects such as qualifying examinations, minimum marks required and course specific requirements are covered hereinafter.
4.1 Qualifying Examinations
Qualifying examinations for the purpose of admission to Undergraduate courses offered by the School are summarized in Table I below. These are categorized in four groups. Candidate seeking admission should have passed the qualifying examination in any of these four groups.

4.2 Who can Apply?
a) Admission is open to candidates from all over India. b) Admission is also open to Indian nationals working in
Indian missions abroad and also to their dependents, subject to appearing in University Examination at Delhi centre only.
c) Admission is also open to Indian nationals settled abroad provided they are:
• Eligible
• They take the University examination at the
Delhi Centre only.
• They submit a duly attested photocopy of the passport.
On seeking admission to the School of Open Learning, Indian nationals settled abroad shall be required to make an extra payment of `1,500 per year towards postage charges. (All
payments from such students will be accepted through Bank Draft.)
d) Foreign nationals residing in India are also eligible for admission in this School. Their cases will be dealt with as per procedure laid down under Special Provisions (4.5.5)
4.3. Eligibility Certificate – Equivalence
The applications for admission to the Undergraduate courses
in the School of Open Learning in respect of candidates having
certificates from the examining bodies other than specified in
the booklet of the University entitled “ Examination and Degree of other Universities and Educational Institutions recognized
by the University of Delhi” shall not be entertained by the School without production of an Eligibility Certificate issued by
the University.

4.5. Special Provisions
4.5.1. Reservations
(a) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes
Reservations of seats in admission to various under-graduate and post
graduate courses, shall be in the following manner:
Scheduled Caste =15% of total in take in each course
Scheduled Tribe =7.5% of total in take in each course
Other Backward Classes =27% of total in take in each course
The seats reserved for SC/ST shall be filled by the SC/ST candidates
only. However, in case of non-availability of the eligible candidates the
reserved seats may be interchanged between the SC & ST. If still any
seat remains unfilled, the same shall be left vacant if the seats reserved
for the OBCs remain vacant, the said seats shall be filled with the OBC
students. Only if OBC candidates processing the minimum
eligibility marks are not available in the OBC category then the
vacant OBC seats shall be converted into General Category seats
in accordance with the admission schedule notified by the
university.
(b) Supernumerary seats:
(i) Persons with Disabilities (PWD) = As per provisions of Rights
of Persons with Disability Act, 2016 5% seats are reserved for
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. As per the said Act, a
person with benchmark disability means a person with not
less than 40% of a specified disability.
(ii) Children/Widows of the eligible Armed Forces Personnel
(CW category) = 5% of the seats in each course.

admission; must have passed separately in the subject/subjects concerned for purpose of admission to such course B.Com. Hons Optional
Computer – paper VI C.
Practical Paper Vi C: Option will be given on the basis of merit. This paper may not be allowed without practical.

As per the guidelines approved by the Academic Council, admission
of candidates belonging to CW categories have to be made in the
following order of priorities:
a. a. Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in action;
b. b. Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen disabled in action;
c. c. Widows/Wards of Defence personnel who died in peace time with
d. Death attributable to military service;
e. d. Wards of Defence personnel disabled in peace time with disability
Attributable to the military service; and
g. e. Wards of Ex-servicemen personnel and serving personnel including
h. personnel of police forces who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards;
Category-V (Gallantry Awards) include: Param Vir Chakra, Ashok
Chakra, Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal, Maha Vir Chakra, Kirti
Chakra, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Vir Chakra, Shaurya Chakra,
Yudh Seva Medal, Sena, Nau Sena,- Vayusena Medal, Mention
in-Despatches, Persident's Police Medal for Gallantry, Police
Medalfor Gallantry.
Authorities competent to issue certificates under CWcategory:
• Secretary, Kendriya, Sainik Board Delhi
• Secretary, Rajya Zila Sainik Board
• Officer-in-Charge, Records Office
• I" class Stipendiary Magistrate
Ministry of Home Affairs (for Police personnel in receipt of
Gallantry Awards)
(i) (iii) Foreign Nationals=5% seats in first year of each course in
colleges.
Foreign nationals seeking admission in the University/its colleges
shall have to get themselves registered with the Foreign Students
Registry in compliance with the schedule notified by the FSR. No
foreign student will be admitted directly by the
Department/Colleges.
(iv) Sports/ECA Persons=upto 5% of total intake in each course.
Admission under these categories shall be made in
accordance with the guidelines issued by the University from time
to time.
(v) For admission to the courses which are governed by the
Regulations of the regulatory bodies, like Medical Council of India,
Dental Council of India, AICTE, etc. the minimum eligibility
requirements prescribed under their respective regulations shall
be followed.
(vi) The merit list for the general category seats will comprise all
the candidates in order of merit. No one will be excluded from the
same. In other words, it will also include SC/ST/OBC candidates if
they come in the general merit. A candidate cannot be excluded
from the general category merit list just because he/she belongs to
SC/ST/OBC. Such a candidate is entitled to be considered under the
general category, as well as under the reserved category.
Admission to open category seats will be strictly in order of merit
without excluding SC/ST/OBC candidates.
a.
The colleges/Departments shall get the relevant certificates,
submitted for availing the benefit of reservation, verified from
the issuing authorities.
6. 4.5.2. AGE
As per the Ordinance of Delhi University, there is no
minimum age bar for admission to the under-graduate and
post-graduate courses in the University and its colleges
except in courses where the respective regulatory bodies
(such as MCI, AICTE etc.) have prescribed the minimum age
requirement in their regulations.
4.5.3. RELAXATIONS CONCESSIONS
(a) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe
Ref: AC Resolution No.88, dated 14/06/1983; EC Resolution
No. 157, dated24/12/2001
The minimum eligibility requirement for Scheduled caste/
Scheduled Tribe candidates will be that they must have
passed the qualifying school/degree examination. Provided
that the minimum eligibility for admission to post-graduate
courses be the minimum pass marks of the qualifying
examination concerned of the University of Delhi. Scheduled
Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates who had passed the
last qualifying examination from other Universities, should
have secured at least the same percentage of pass marks in
the qualifying examination as prescribed for the equivalent
examination of Delhi University for purposes of admission to
the Post-graduate course of this University.
Where the admission is based on the screening/written test,
both for under-graduate and post-graduate courses, the
Scheduled Castes/Tribes candidates would also be required
to take the test but their merit list will be prepared separately
and permitted as per the reservation quota.
(b) Other Backward Classes
Ref: Notification No. Aca.1/2012-13/OBC/588 dated
11/04/2012
The OBC candidates shall be given a relaxation in the
minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the
minimum eligibility (if any) in the admission entrance test to
the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed
for the General category candidates. For example, if the
minimum eligibility for admission to a course is 50% for the
General category candidates, the minimum eligibility for the
OBCs would be 45% i.e. (less 10% of 50%).
All those OBC candidates who secure the minimum eligibility
marks in the qualifying examination and the minimum
eligibility marks (if any) in the entrance test shall be eligible
for admission in the order of their merit, keeping in view the
availability of seats reserved for them.
Only those candidates who belong to the 'Non-Creamy
Layer' and whose castes appear in the Central List of the
OBCs shall be eligible to be considered for admission under
the OBC Category.

(c) Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
The PWD candidates with not less than 40% disability shall be given a
relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in
the minimum eligibility (if any) in the admission entrance test to the
extent of 5%.
(d) Children/Widows of the eligible Armed Forces Personnel (CW)
A concession of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements in
the qualifying examinations.
(e) The candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes
and Persons with Physical Disability shall be charged the admission
form/entrance examination fee at concessional rates.
4.5.4. Pre-University/SSLC
Optional Cases of candidates who have passed S.S.L.C. (11 Years)
Pre-University (One Year Course) from Madras University and Madurai
University can also be considered for admission to the 1st year of the
3-year Degree course provisionally subject to the approval of the
Equivalence Committee and Academic Council provided they fulfill the
percentage of marks, of the particular course. Such candidates are,
however, required to submit an authenticated proof of having done 11
year schooling in S.S.L.C. examination and one year P.U.C.
4.5.5. Admission of Foreign Candidates at SOL
All foreign candidates residing in India and seeking admission to B.A.
(Programme)I B.Com. / B.A. (Hons) English/ B.A. (Hons), Political
Science / B.Com. (Hons) Courses in the School of Open Learning and
satisfying the course, marks are required to apply to the Deputy Dean,
Foreign Students Registry (FSR) Room No-11, First Floor,
Conference Center, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. No foreign
student shall be admitted to the School of Open Learning without prior
approval of the Deputy Dean, Foreign Students Advisor, University of
Delhi.
As per the directions received from Dy. Dean (Foreign Students),
Foreign Students Registry, University of Delhi, the consideration of
admission of foreign students in different courses of SOL will be as
follows:-
(I) Nepal and Bhutan nationals enjoy a visa free regime with India.
Hence students from these countries may be admitted to
correspondence courses.
(ii) Tibetan students on "Special Entry Permit (SEP)" who come to
India for education purpose only cannot enroll for
correspondence courses. They must pursue regular courses of
study.
(iii) All other foreign students from any other country, holding a
"Student Visa" are required to pursue only regular/full time
academic courses.
(iv) As per above information, the foreign students (from
Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet) seeking admission to School of Open
Learning (SOL) courses are advised to apply through FSR
office, University of Delhi and fill the Foreign Students
Application Form.
4.5.6. Procedure of Change in Name
As per directions received from Registrar, University of
Delhi, vide notification number Ref./Aca-II/Change of name
/279/2015/03 Dated 1-7-2015, please visit the SOL website
sol.du.ac.in regarding formalities of change of
name/surname.
a. A woman student who wishes to change her surname on
account of marriage is advised to apply on the prescribed
application form (obtainable from Academic Branch-II)
through the Principal/Head of the College/Department to the
Registrar , University of Delhi, during the same academic
session along with an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper
worth Rs.10/- (in original) duly attested by a 1st class
Magistrate or Marriage Certificate issued by the Court along
with a fee of Rs. 50/- for necessary action at the University
level.
b. The change in the name/ surname will come into effect only
after the same has been approved by the University.
c. The name after change will be read as changed name alia /
nee earlier name.
d. No student will be allowed to change his/her name on any
official document, including examination forms, until the
same has been approved by the University.
e. Request for change in name will not be entertained from
a person who is not a student of the University at the time
of making the application for change of name.

of name/279/2015/03 dated 01-07-2015 regarding
procedure for change of name, it is hereby notified that it is
mandatory for the student seeking change of name to get

5.6 IMPORTANT GUIDELINE/INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION TO B.A.
(PROGRAMME) COURSE:
a) Student opting Discipline Course subject in lieu of Hindi/Indian Language:
Students who have not studied Modern Indian Languages at school level shall have the option
of taking Economics (Principles of Microeconomics – I)/Political Science (Globalizing World)
from Discipline Courses in lieu of Modern Indian Languages (M.I.L) if they have not opted the
same already under Discipline Course.
b) DISCIPLINE COURSE PAPERS:
A student shall opt any two Discipline Course Papers (Discipline-I & Discipline-II) out of the
options offered to him/her. For Example: if a student opts for Economics and Political
Science in First Year as Discipline Courses, he/she will continue with these two courses in II
Year & III Year also.
NOTE
For the purpose of this provision persons who have passed the following examinations will not
be deemed to have passed examination in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi or Tamil as the case may be:
01. Lower Hindi or Lower Urdu of the Senior Cambridge Indian School Certificate Examination.
02. Hindi Examination prescribed for Science Group students at the end of the Class IX for the
Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New
Delhi. Compulsory Test in Elementary Hindi of the Central Board of Secondary Education,
New Delhi, or similar compulsory test prescribed for the Matriculation or equivalent
examination of the Indian Universities or Boards.
03. Elementary Hindi included as a part of the examination for the Intermediate Examination
conducted by the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, U.P.
04. Hindi included in the S.S.L.C. Examination of the Government of Kerala.
05. Elementary Hindi included as a part of the Intermediate Examination conducted by the
Central Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer.

c) STUDENTS WHO WISHES TO OPT NUTRITION AND HEALTH EDUCATION (NHE) AS DISCIPLINE
PAPER:
Only Female students are allowed to opt NHE Paper under Discipline Course. It involves
Practical Classes also which are held in Delhi only. The minimum eligibility for the subject is
as per University of Delhi guidelines for B. A. (Programme) Course. The School has only 120
Seats as it involves Practical Examination. Admission is strictly permitted on merit basis only.
d) IMPORATN INFORMATION ABOUT EXAMINATION OF DISCIPLINE SUBJECTS:
As per previous year Date-sheet of the University of Delhi meant for the B. A. (Programme)
Course Students, examinations in some Discipline Subjects for each part are scheduled for
two days. Candidates are examined strictly in the alphabetical order of the subjects offered
for each Part-I, II & III. For Example: in combination of Economics & History the candidate is
required to appear in Economics on the date mentioned for Discipline-I Subject and in History
on the date mentioned for Discipline-II Subject in the Date-Sheet. Similarly, in the
combination of History & Political Science the candidate is required to appear in History on
the day of Discipline-I and in Political Science on the day of Discipline-II as per Date-sheet.
e) IMPROVEMENT OF PAPERS:
The candidates who are desirous of availing the facility of improvement of paper/papers are
required to contact the School of Open Learning, North Campus, University of Delhi, Delhi-
110007 (Students enrolled with SOL North) and School of Open Learning, South Study
Centre, South Moti Bagh, New Delhi (Students enrolled with South Campus) personally
along with Latest Statement of Marks and Pass out Students are required to bring Provisional
Certificate also together with Latest Statement of Marks. Improvement is permissible in
compliance with the University of Delhi rules during pendency of the Span Period only.
Student cannot take any examination if the Span Period in his/her case has expired.
It is reiterated that improvement of Paper/Papers is allowed in compliance with the
guidelines prescribed for improvement by the University of Delhi.

6.1. Re-Continuation/Re-Admission
The cancellation cases of SOL students will not be re-continued / re-admitted in any circumstances. In these cases the enrollment number will also be annulled.
However, the discontinued cases of SOL students for re-continuation I re admission will be forwarded to the Admission Committee for further decision in the matter on individual merit basis.
As per the Amended Ordinance IV of the Ordinances of the University of Delhi applicable for necessary compliance w.e.f. the Academic Session 2012-2013: 1. Inter-university migration may be permitted only in the beginning of the III Semester of only B.A. Programme and B. Com Programme under semester mode on production of (i) Leaving Certificate from the Principal of the College or from the Registrar of the University he/she is leaving and (ii) marks sheets of the examinations already passed and (iii) documentary evidences in support of the ground on which migration has been sought. Provided that such a student will have to pass all the papers of Semester-I & Semester-II examinations of the said course of the University of Delhi. Provided further that their marks shall be proportionately upgraded in the Semester-I & Semester-II examinations in the absence of the Internal Assessment Marks. 2. Admission of a student to the University in the III Semester of study for B.A./B. Com degree examination may only
be allowed on the ground that the parent or guardian of the student in or has migrated to Delhi. 3.(a) Inter College migration within the University of Delhi in the III Semester of B.A., B. Com, B.A. (H), B.Com (H) Courses under the semester mode may be allowed subject to availability of seats and consent of Principals of both the colleges.
(b) Inter College migration will not be allowed at the post-graduate level. (c) The last date for migration will be 31st August.
4. Application for migration from one college of the University of Delhi to another shall only be entertained by the Principal if forwarded by the Principal of the college from which migration is sought, and the necessary alteration in the enrolment entries shall only be made in the University Register by the Registrar after obtaining the consent in writing of both Principals.
7.1. Method of Instructions
The syllabus for such paper is divided into suitable number of lessons. Lessons are prepared by experienced teachers and cover the entire course prescribed by the University of Delhi.
The Printed study material is distributed to the students, a soft copy of which is made available on SOL website. In addition. A few audio-video lectures related to the courses are also made available on SOL website.
7.2. Academic Counselling Session (ACS)
Academic Counselling Session includes Sundays/Gazetted Holidays classroom lectures and discussion at various study centres for a specified period ranging as under. Local students may be provided

7.3. Audio-Visual Centre
The School is in the process of establishing its audio-visual centre. In the first instance, the School proposes to prepare the study material in soft copy (pendrive / microchip) at the under graduate level in various subjects. An ambitious program of preparing VCDs as well is being worked out. 7.4. Library Facility
The School has a library at the Main Campus as well as at its South Study Centre at South Moti Bagh for the students residing in Delhi and its adjacent areas. The Library has a very good collection of textbooks, general books, reference books, journals and magazines. The Following services/facilities are provided in the library:

Library Registration will be available between 09.30 a.m. to
5.00 p.m. on all working days till 31st March 2021 at both
centres.
All students are advised to get themselves registered with the
Library within TWENTY DAYS OF THE ALLOTMENT of their
School Admission Numbers. Students desirous to become
members of the Library will have to bring with them the fee receipt
along with their Identity Card for registration.
Students of B.A.(Programme) & B.Com. Courses will be issued
two books while the students of Hons Courses will be issued
three books.
Students shall carry their Identity Card on every visit to be shown
at the library gate. If this card is lost by the student, a duplicate
can be obtained from the School on payment of Rs. 30/-. If any
book(s) issued is/ are lost, the students will be required to replace
it by the latest edition of the book(s).
The book/books will be issued for a fortnight (15 days) only and
may be re-issued if another copy of the book is available in the
library.
Reference Books and Magazines are not issued under
any circumstances.
7.5. Book Bank The School has established a Students' Aid Fund to help economicallweaker students in the form of text book/books or lump sum grant todefray the expenses of education. No stipend or scholarship shall begiven out of this fund. This facility is also available at the South StuCentre for students of B.A. (Programme) and B.Com. only. The critfor availing books from the book bank is the same as in the case of feeconcession.

This is a bilingual Newsletter that attempts to establishing a channel of communication between students and teachers.
7.7. Identity Card
Every student is required to have an Identity Card of the School. The student can download the same from SOL website https://sol.du.ac.in.
7.8. Student Counselling Facility
Members of the teaching departments are available to solve the academic problems of the students on all working days in the School at the Main Campus only. The availability of the members of the teaching department are available on website.
7.9. Fee Concession/Financial Assistant to Students
7.9.1. Fee Concession Book Bank
• Fee Concession and Book Bank facility is available for
students whose family income from all sources is below 2.5 Lakh
per annum.
• To avail this facility the applicant must upload Income
Certificate (Government/ Private/ Notary) and also tick ( ) in the
admission form column for fee concession and Book
Bank.
Note: Applicants are not entitled to avail this facility if they do not tick ( ) in the appropriate columns and have not uploaded the Income Certificate.
7.9.2. Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is provided by SOL for students belonging to economically weaker section. A student will receive an amount of Rs. 2500/- in addition to exemption of tuition fees. Students should submit an application to the AIR Admission North/South, along with the documents/ Certificates listed against the various categories given below.
1. Students who belong to the following categories on production of the relevant card/ Certificate can avail of Financial Assistance. a) B.P.L (Ration Card), b) A.A.Y. (Ration Card), c) Labour Card, d) PRS (Ration Card), e) PWD cases of the above four categories (This is an addition to fee waiver).
2. Students who belong to the following Categories can avail of Financial Assistance on producing of the relevant certificate along with Income Certificate* of Rs.2.5 Lakhs or Less per Annum.
* Income Certificate issued by the Government/ Revenue
department/Tehsildar/SDM/ Patwari. 1. Single Parent, 2. Death of Parent/s, 3. Divorced Female Students, 4. Divorces Parents, 5. Medical Cases.
3. Cases of other deserving students will be considered by the
Committee. Application tobe submitted to Assistant Registrar
North, Assistance Registrar South Admission Section along
with Income Certificate* of Rs.2.5 Lakhs or Lessper annum.

7.9.3. PWD Category
As per Delhi University Notification No.Aca.1/082/200 1/ PWD/2012-2013/355, dated 13th Sept.2013, the following amendent
to ordinance (4) of the university has been added after subclause 2 of Ordinance (4) of the said Ordinance.
"Provided that the Persons with Physical Disabilities shall be waived
off all the fees payable including the Examination fee and other
University fees (Except Admission fee). Subscription towards Delhi
University Students Union and identity Card fee for pursuing
Undergraduate, Post-graduate courses in the University or its
Colleges.
As per Delhi University Notification No. Aca.1/2015-2016/PWD/533
dated 05.06.2015 dyslexia has been incorporated in PWD category.
A certificate from either Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied
Sciences (IHBAS) or any other Government Hospital as prescribed
under rules, is required. Such certificate should also clearly indicate
the extent of condition of dyslexia to be 'moderate’ as per letter
received from OSD, EOC, Letter no-136/2017, dated-17.05.2017.
7.9.4. Facilities for Students with Disabilities
The School of Open Learning has endeavored to pay special attention to the academic needs of students with disabilities. Their number on SOL rolls has been increasing steadily, indicating the growing importance of distance education for this critical sector. Currently, several students are enrolled in SOL.
As per UGC guidelines, we are in the process of setting up an enabling unit with modern facilities such as computers and reading machines. The SOL already has a Disability Coordinator and a Committee to help such students. As per Delhi University decisions, fee concession is provided to students with disabilities. Study materials will be provided in DAISY audio format starting from the academic year 2014-15.
A Single Window Service counter is available for disabled students in the Record Room, on the ground floor of the main building of SOL. Such Students can approach this counter or get in touch with the Assistant Registrar, Admissions in case they face any difficulty.
7.10. Financial Assistance to SC/ST Students
Students belonging to Scheduled Castes I Scheduled Tribes are advised to apply to their respective State Governments for financial assistance to defray the expenses of their education.

7.11. Fee Concession to University/SOL Employee/Ward
The University employees and the employees working in affiliated colleges of the University of Delhi on permanent post can be granted exemption from payment of tuition fee. However, the employee has to produce documentary proof for the same. The ward/s of permanent employee of SOL are also exempted from paying tuition fee. However, the application must be verified by the Establishment Branch.
7.12. Syllabus and Study Material
Students will be provided syllabus and study material in hard copy by hand and not by post. However, the study material is also available on SOL website.

7.13. Obtaining Degree Certificate
Normally the Degrees are provided by the University to S.O.L. within 2 years of passing the final year Examination. The students will be individually intimated. The students are supposed to collect and submit No Dues Certificate from Library/D&C Section. Check the status of Degree on Degree Request column of our website: https://sol.du.ac.in
In case the students do not receive any information within two years, then they are advised to contact the Section Officer (Degree Section) at the School of Open Learning and fill up the necessary forms to release the Degree Certificate with details regarding course, S.O.L Roll Number, Year of Passing, Last Examination Roll No., Enrolment No. etc.
7.14. DEB-UGC Recognition
All the Courses offered by SOL, are recognized by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB)-UGC for the year 2020-21.
8.1. Mode of Payments of Fees
1) Online: The candidates are requested to pay their fee at the time of admission through debit card/credit card/net banking.
2) Offline: (Only for PWD/NHE/FSR students) cash will be accept at SOL counter only for PWD students. For NHE and FSR students
deposited the fees through demand draft made in favour of the OSD, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110007 from any nationalize bank.
8.2. Withdrawal of Admission and Refund of Admission/Examination Fee
(i) Refund of Admission Fee Quantum of fee to be refunded

(b) When a student applies for withdrawal of admission within 15 days from the date of his/her

(c)When a student applies for withdrawal of admission after 15 days but within a month from the date
of his/her admission.
Note: No fee will be refunded after one month of the date of admission.
No admission will be cancelled and fee will be refund. If applied through email. The student will
have to apply personally for cancellation of admission and refund of fee with written application.

(ii) Refund of Examination Fee
In the event of death of a candidate before commencement of examination
In the event of student's inability to continue his/her studies at least one month before the commencement of the examination duly certif ied by the Principal/Head of the Department/Dean of the faculty.

8 REFUND OF FEE STRUCTURE

8.2.1. Library Security (Refundable)
The amount of Library Security will be forfeited if the Student fails to apply for a refund within one year after the completion of
span period.
8.3. Change of Course and Subject (Only Once)
Charges for change of Course and Subject are as follows:

Such charges will be accepted only in cash with a written application. Any transaction made otherwise will be at the risk and

8.4.3. Special Fee to be collected from Foreign Students
As per letter No. Ref. No. FSR/6312, dated 24,Jan.2013 of Dy. Dean, (Foreign Students) University of Delhi, the School will charge
(`6,000/-) Registration Fee for the School of Open Learning in addition to total Fee as mentioned in Point No. 8.4.2 (Page No. 27) to be paid to The Executive Director, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi.
8.4.4. Students Availing Facility of Diplomatic Bag
Students residing abroad and availing facility of Diplomatic Bag
C/O Ministry of External Affairs do not come under the category of
Foreign Students and hence they are not required to deposit the requisite fee as mentioned in Point No. 8.4.2 (Page No. 27) on for Undergraduate courses. However, they will pay fees as per Category 'A' except Library Security.
8.4.5. Indian Nationals Residing Abroad
Indian students residing abroad and falling under Category C as per Section 8.4.2 would have to pay the fee as mentioned in Category "C" on page No. 27 for undergraduate Courses to The Officer on Special Duty (OSD), School of Open Learning, University of Delhi. This would include Tuition Fee and other charges.

. 9.1. Medium of Examination
University Question Papers in History, Political Science, Economics, Education, Home Science (Nutrition and Health Education), Commerce and Sanskrit may be answered in English or Hindi. The medium should be the same in all the subjects.
9.2. Compulsory Test in Hindi Any student who has not offered Hindi as MIL shall be required to pass a Compulsory Test in Hindi before seeking Provisional Certificate and Degree Certificate:
Exemption from Compulsory Test in Hindi can be granted if
a. He/she has passed 8th Class School Examination with
Hindi as First or Second or Third language and produces the
certificate from the Principal of the School under any Board or
University.
b. He/she has passed Middle School level Hindi examination
conducted by any Govt./Semi-Govt. or recognised institution (such as Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Rashtra
Bhasha Parishad, Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha
etc.)
In case a candidate has passed any of the aforesaid examinations but has not offered Hindi as a subject for B.A. / B.Com./ B.Com.(Hons.)/B.A. (Hons.) Course, the particulars of the same should be communicated to the School along with an attested copy of the certificate of the Examination passed with Hindi as a subject so that the case regarding exemption from Compulsory Test in Hindi can be examined. It may be noted that the Compulsory Test in Hindi is arranged twice a year (in March and September) and the dates are communicated to the students as and when notified by the University. The University has not prescribed any limit regarding the number of chances for appearing in Compulsory Test in Hindi. However, the provisional certificate for qualifying in the third year and the degree will be released only after a student has passed the CompulsoryTest in Hindi.
The examination shall include the following:
a . Reading and Comprehension 40 Marks
b. Writing and Comprehension 30 Marks
c. Functional Grammar 30 Marks
Notes: The test in the examination shall consist of expression of simple ideas on the part of students in elementary Hindi language.
The students are required to make their own arrangements for procuring the text books prescribed in the syllabus. These will not be supplied by the School.
9.3. Centre of Examination Centre of Examination shall only be Delhi for all the students of School of Open Learning.
10.1. Late Submission of Examination Form with Penalty The Examination form may be submitted online after the expiry of the last date with a penalty or late fee, as prescribed by the University. Late fee payable shall be the sum of incremental fees payable till the date of submission of the form. No examination form shall be accepted, for any reason whatsoever, 15 days before the commencement of the said examination. However, in order to enable the School to process the cases, all such applications should reach the School 20 days before the commencement of the examination.
10.2. Admission Ticket and Date Sheet The Admission Ticket containing Examination Roll Number, Examination Centre and the Date Sheet for the examination will only be available on the SOL website. Students are advised to download the Admission Ticket Date Sheet etc., well before the commencement of the said examination, failing which, the consequences shall solely be the responsibility of the concerned student. SOL provides important information’s to the students through SMS on their Mobile Numbers registered with SOL/uploading notices on the website. The Student must download the Date Sheet and Admission Ticket from our website – https://sol.du.ac.in.
10.3. Non-Receipt of Admission Ticket In the event of non-receipt of the Admission Ticket (Hall Ticket) and Date Sheet referred to above, the PDF format Admission Ticket can be collected by the student from the office of the School of Open Learning, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, and South Study Centre, South Moti Bagh , New Delhi on production the Identity Card/latest fee receipt issued by the School seven days before the commencement of the examination. However, PDF format Admission Ticket will be available on SOL website.
10.4. Span Period No candidate will be admitted to the Examination after the expiry of the span period. (mentioned on Page no.8)
a) Fresh entrants are not required to fill up the Examination Form.
b) All failures/Promoted/Gap year students must fill up their Examination Form latest by 31st December 2020 or by
Last date mentioned on the website/in the Registration - cum - examination form whichever is earlier through online
process only.

Pass Percentage and Promotion Rules for All the
Under-Graduate Courses under Choice Based
Credit System.
The following provisions shall be applicable to students
admitted to the Three Year Under-graduate programme
under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS):
(a) A student who appears in an odd semester
examinations or who was eligible to appear in
the odd semester examinations but remains
absent in any or all the papers of the said
semester, shall move on to the next even
semester irrespective of his/her result in the said
examinations.
(b) A student who has obtained 40% on the
aggregate taking together all the papers in
theory examination (including internal
assessment/project work) and practical
examination separately conducted in Ist and IInd
semester shall be promoted to the second
academic year/IIIrd semester.
(c) A student who has obtained 40% on the
aggregate taking together all the papers in
theory examination (internal assessment/project
work) and practical examinations separately,
conducted in IIIrd and IVth semester shall be
promoted to the third academic year/Vth
semester.
(d) Students who do not fulfill the promotion criteria
mentioned above shall be declared fail in the
promotion examination of the academic year
concerned. However, they shall have the option
to retain the marks in the papers in which they
want to retain.
(e) If a student has secured an aggregate of
minimum 40% marks together all the papers in
theory examination (including internal
assessment/ project, wherever applicable) and
practical exam separately till the end of the third
year, i.e., upto the end of the VIth semester, then
she/he shall be awarded the degree in which the
student has been admitted.
(f) A student who wants to re-appear for
improvement in marks in a paper prescribed for
semester I/II/III may do so only in the semester
examinations to be held in November-
December. A student who wants to re-appear
for improvement in a paper prescribed in
semester II/IV/VI may do so only in the
examinations to be held in May/June.

As per the directive of the University, the applications for revaluation will be accepted by the University within two weeks from the date of declaration of results. The tabulated results shall be made available on the website as well as office of the School of Open Learning. 11.1. Rules for Rechecking of Answer Script
1. Rechecking is to be applied for, within 15 days from the date of publication of result on university web site.
2. Rechecking in Practical examination etc. is not undertaken. But in the course/subject where rechecking is permissible the answer books are checked just to ensure that all the questions attempted by the candidate have been valued, that the marks awarded have been totaled correctly and that the total marks have been correctly carried over to the result statement.
3. Fee chargeable for rechecking of the result is `750/-per paper to be deposited with University Cashier between 9.30 am to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm on all working days, after verification of application from the Revaluation Branch.
4. Applications for rechecking of result, received after 15 days from the date of declaration of result on the University web site shall not be entertained.
5. Application form is accepted for rechecking of results provisionally, subject to the particulars being found correct after scrutiny.
The candidate is required to produce a photocopy of his/her current Admission Ticket for verification of Roll No. at the time of submission of application form for rechecking along with self - addressed envelope of 9" x 4" size with postal stamp worth `5/- affixed on it.
11.2. Rules for Revaluation of Answer Script (Candidate seeking revaluation are advised to go through these rules and regulations before they apply for revaluation)
1. Revaluation is allowed only in theory papers of non professionals courses, which have not been jointly valued.
2. Carefully select the papers in which you wish to seek revaluation. No second application for additional papers shall be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
3. Revaluation is to be applied for within 15 days of the date of uploading of result on the University website.
4. The candidate is required to produce a photocopy of his/her current Admission Ticket and/or statement of marks for verification of Roll No., marks etc. at the time of submission of Application Form for revaluation and also to attach self- addressed envelope of 9" x 4" size with postal stamp worth t5 affixed, for sending revaluation result.
5. Entries made by the candidate should be verified by the Principal of the College concerned.
Please Note that
1. When you apply for revaluation, you surrender your original performance and will have to accept the revised performance in which:
a) there can be NOCHANGE,
a) there can be an INCREASE in the marks,
b) there can be a DECREASE in the marks,
2. The application is to be made by the candidate in his/her own handwriting and with his/her own signature and not by anyone else on his/her behalf.
3. Prescribed fee: Rs.1000/- per paper to be deposited with the University Cashier between 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. on all working days after verification of the form at the Revaluation Cell Counter. (WindowNo.1)
4. (a) If the award of the Revaluation varies from the original award, up to and including+ 5% of the maximum marks, the original award will stand.
(a) If the award of the first Revaluator is beyond ± 5% and upto ± 10% the average of the marks of original examiner and the first Revaluator will be taken.
(b) If the award of the Revaluator varies form the original award by more then ± 10% of the minimum marks, the answer script will be examined by a Second Revaluator (other than original and first) and the average of the two nearest award out of the three awards thus available (including the original award) shall be taken as final.
11.3. Rules for Supply of Copy of Evaluated Answer Script
1. If the candidate wants a copy of the evaluated answer script, he/ she should select the paper carefully.
2. The application should be submitted between 61st day and 75th day of declaration of result on the University website.
3. The candidate is required to produce a photocopy of his/her current Admission Ticket and/or statement of marks for verifications of Roll No., marks etc., at the time of submission of Application Form.
4. Entries made by the candidate must be verified by
the Principal of the College/Head of the Department
concerned.
5. The application is to be made by the candidate in his/her own handwriting and with his/her own
signature and not by anyone else on his/her behalf.
6. Examination office will endeavor to provide a copy of
Answer Script within 30 days of submission of
application. The student is required to collect the copy
of the evaluated answer script within a period of 15
days from the date of intimation of availability of the
script on the University website.
7. If a student finds any error in totaling of marks or finds
that any question has not been evaluated, then he/she
should communicate this to the Examination office in
the prescribed proforma within a period of 10 days of
the collection of the evaluated answer script.
8. Any representation other than that relating to totaling
errors or unmarked question shall not be admissible.
9. Prescribed Fee: `750 per paper is to be deposited
with the University Cashier between 9.30 a.m. and
1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. on all
working/days after verification of the Application or by
the Examination office.
11 RECHECKING/REVALUATION/EVALUATION OF SCRIPTS

12.1. Prohibition and Punishment for Ragging (ORDINANCE XV-C)
1. Ragging, in any form is strictly prohibited, within the premises of College/ Department or Institution and any part of
Delhi University system as well as on public transport.
2. Any individual or collective act or practice of ragging constitutes gross indiscipline and shall be dealt with under this
Ordinance.
3. Ragging for the purposes of this Ordinance, ordinarily means any act, conduct or practice by which dominant power
or status of senior students is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior or inferior by other students; and includes individual or collective acts or practices which -
a. involve physical assault or threat to use physical force
b. violates the status, dignity and honor of women students
c. violates the status, dignity and honor of students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes
d. exposes students to ridicule and contempt and affects their self-esteem
e. entails verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behavior.
4. The Principal of a College, the Head of the Department or an Institution, the authorities of the College, or University Hostel or Halls of Residence shall take immediate action on any information of the occurrence of ragging.
5. Notwithstanding anything in Clause (4) above, the Proctor may also suo moto enquire into any incident of ragging
and make a report to the Vice-Chancellor of the identity of those who have engaged in ragging and the nature of the incident.
6. The Proctor may also submit an initial reports establishing the identity of the perpetrators of ragging and the nature
of the ragging incident.
7. If the Principal of a College or Head of the Department or Institution or the Proctor is satisfied that, for some reason,
to be recorded in writing, it is not reasonably practical to hold such an enquiry, he/ she may so advise the Vice-
Chancellor accordingly.
8. When the Vice-Chancellor is satisfied that it is not expedient to hold such an enquiry, his / her decision shall be final.
9. On the receipt of a report under Clause (5) or (6) or a determination by the relevant authority under clause (7) disclosing the occurrence of ragging incidents described in Clause 3(a), (b) and (c), the Vice-Chancellor shall direct or order rustication of a student or students for a specific number of years.
10. The Vice-chancellor may in other cases of ragging order or direct that any student or students be expelled or be not
for a stated period, admitted to a course of study in a college, departmental examination for one or more years or that the results of the student or students concerned in the examination or examinations in which they appeared be cancelled.
11. In case any students who have obtained degrees or diplomas of Delhi University are found guilty; under this Ordinance, appropriate action will be taken under Statute 15 for withdrawal of degrees or diploma conferred by the University.
12. For the purpose of this Ordinance, abetment to ragging whether by way of any act, practice or incitement of ragging
will also amount to ragging.
13. All Institutions within the Delhi University system shall be obligated to carry out instructions/ directions issued under
this Ordinance, and to give aid assistance to the Vice-Chancellor to achieve the effective.
Note: Order of the Vice-Chancellor in pursuance of Ordinance XV-C:
Where incident(s) of ragging are reported to the Vice-Chancellor by any authority under this Ordinance, the students(s) involved in ragging, shall be expelled for a specified term, designated in the order. Non-students involved in reports of ragging will be proceeded with under the criminal law of India; they will also be rendered ineligible for a period of five years from seeking enrolment in any of the institutions of the University of Delhi. Students against whom necessary action is taken under this note, will be given post decisional hearing, with strict adherence to the rules of natural justice.

12.2. The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013

An Act to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at workplace and for the prevention and redressal of
complaints of sexual harassment and formatters connected therewith incidental thereto.
Whereas sexual harassment results in violation of the fundamental rights of a woman to equality under articles 14 and 15 of the
Constitution of India and her right to life and to live with dignity under article 21 of the Constitution and right to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade or business which includes a right to a safe environment free from sexual
harassment;
And Whereas the protection against sexual harassment and the right to work with dignity are universally recognized human
rights by international conventions and instruments such as Convention on the Elimination of all forms of discrimination
against Women, which has been ratified on the 25th of June, 1993 by the Government of India.
And Whereas it is expedient to make provisions for giving effect to the said Convention for protection of women against sexual harassment at workplace.

Short-Term Courses for Students of School of Open Learning (SOL)
University of Delhi through its Campus of Open Learning, has introduced short term courses to enhance the employability of the
students enrolled with School of Open Learning. These courses have been designed with a focus on the areas where human resource is
needed. At the end of the course, students are jointly awarded a certificate by University of Delhi and the Industry Partner. Most of the
courses are of 6 months duration which includes 2 months of internship with the relevant industry. After completing industry. After

2. The students are advised to write their Name, Course applied for and Application Form Number on the back side of
Demand Draft. The candidates are further advised to keep a photocopy of the Form and Demand Draft with them for
ready reference.

Name, Address, Mobile Numbers and Subjects all match the information filled by you according to the eligibility criteria.
In case you notice any errors get them corrected at the counter itself.
Students Advisory
1. Academic Counselling Sessions (ACS)
i) The Academic Counselling Sessions are organized on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays to enable both working and non-
working students to attend these classes in various parts of the NCT These classes are organized on weekends and
holidays. Students can view the schedule on the SOL website. It has been observed, over the years that the students who
regularly attend the ACS usually, score better than their counterparts who fail to attend it.
ii) In case the students wishes to meet the teacher personally to discuss academic problems she/he may contact the
concerned teacher via e-mail. The e-mail addresses are listed in the Prospectus.
2. Study Material
The students should supplement the study material provided by the School with material available on the open sources,
linked through SOL website and use the library facilities extensively.

3. Examination Form
All ex-students and promoted students of Annual Mode and CBCS (Semester System) are strictly advised to submit their
Demand Letter-cum-Examination Form timely within 30 days from the date of declaration of result or the last date
mentioned on the Demand letter-cum-Examination Form, Whichever is earlier, to avoid the late payment fine.
(Each and every student must always bear it in his/her mind that he/she is required to complete the course
within the Span Period in compliance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the University of Delhi).
There is no provision of taking examination after expiry of the Span Period.
4. Complaint Box
SOL welcomes your valuable suggestions in improving facilities provided to the students. Students are advised to drop
their complaints/suggestions in a box placed on the SOL premises (North and South). Students are advised to put
requisition slips for books they need from time to time in the suggestion box placed in the Library.
