Academic Programs at ITS

One year non Degree-program (PIKTI, PAPSI) = Practical

Non-Degree Program

D3 = 3 years Diploma (108 credits)

D4 = 4 years Diploma (144 credits)

S1 = Bachelor Degree (144 credits for max 10 semester)

S2 = Master Degree (36 credits for max 8 semester)

S3 = Doctoral Degree (40 credits after master in the

same field or 52 credits after master in the different field)

Fast Track Program

Double Degree Program (S1, S2, S3)

International Program (Marine Eng. & Industrial Eng.)

Credit & Marking System

1 SKS (Satuan Kredit Semester) = 1 Credit implies:

160 minutes learning activities a week (50 minutes in class, 50

minutes structured assignment, 60 minutes individual activities)

1 semester is 16 weeks including mid and final tests

Marking System:

Nilai Angka Nilai Huruf Nilai Numerik Sebutan

81 −100 A 4 Excellent

71 −80 AB 3,5 Very good

66 −70 B 3 good

61 −65 BC 2,5 Adequate

51 −60 C 2 Acceptable

41 −50 D 1 Poor

0 −40 E 0 Failed

Credit & Marking System

IP (Indeks Prestasi) = Grade Point Average (GPA) is

calculated based on the formula:

[Number of credits x Mark for each credit] : Total number of

credits

Number of credits per semester for S1 (Bachelor):

GPA < 2,00 = 16 credits

2,00 < GPA < 3,25 = 20 credits

GPA > 3,25 = up to 24 credits

Number of credits per semester for S2 (Master):

GPA < 3,00 = 12 credits

GPA > 3,00 = 15 credits

Cont’

Number of credits per semester for S3 (PhD):

- Four semesters for students coming from inline study program (without dissertation)

- Six semesters for students coming from not online study program (without dissertation)

Re-taking a course

S1 and D3 students are allowed to re-take any courses, excepts for preparation courses.

The grade calculated in the GPA is the latest grade (after retake)

Academic Activities

In order to be allowed to attend courses, students have

to register by paying the tuition fee, fill in the online study

plan (FRS) some exceptions hold for scholarship

holders

Students who didn’t make any registration until the

specified date will not allowed to do any academic

activities in the corresponding semester.

Students who didn’t register for two semesters

consecutively will be considered as resign

Rector may consider the status above with some

requirements

Student Advisor

The department will assign a student advisor for every

student

In the beginning of semester, the students have to arrange

the study plan discussed with the advisor

With the advisor, the student has rights to obtain

information about academic program in ITS, direction in

arranging the study plan, solving some problems especially

academic related problems.

Learning System

Each course has course outline that will be distributed by

the lecturer at the beginning of the semester

Assessment/evaluation is done at least 4 times per course

per semester

Students have to attend min 80% of the schedule class

Students who attend the schedule class less than 80% are

given E (failed)

Cheating and plagiarism are treated seriously and will be

punished with E (failed) for that course even for the

whole courses in a particular semester

Changing the Course

The students can change courses within first three weeks

of semester

The change has to be approved by the student’s advisor

Requirements to graduate

D3 : 110 SKS with IPK > 2.00 without E (12 SKS allowed

with D)

S1 : 144 SKS with IPK > 2.00 without E (12 sks allowed

with D)

S2 : 36 SKS with IPK > 3.0n without E and D, publication

in national accredited journal or international seminar.

Doctor : ask the department

Language requirements: TOEFL of 477 min

The student is eligible to graduate after the Yudicium

meeting

Dengan pujian 3,5 masa studi sebanyak-banyaknya 3 tahun/6 semester

Sangat memuaskan 3,5 masa studi 3 tahun 3,01 ≤ IP ≤ 3,50

Memuaskan 2,76 ≤ IP ≤ 3,00

Dengan pujian 3,5 masa studi sebanyak-banyaknya 4 tahun/8 semester

Sangat memuaskan 3,5 masa studi 4 tahun 3,01 ≤ IP ≤ 3,50

Memuaskan 2,76 ≤ IP ≤ 3,00

Predicate Master and Doctorat

Dengan pujian 3,75 masa studi sebanyak-banyaknya 2 tahun/4 semester

Sangat memuaskan 3,75 masa studi 2 tahun 3,51 ≤ IP ≤ 3,75

Memuaskan 3,00 ≤ IP ≤ 3,50

Dengan pujian 3,75 masa studi sebanyak-banyaknya 3 tahun/6 semester

Sangat memuaskan 3,75 masa studi 3 tahun 3,51 ≤ IP ≤ 3,75

Memuaskan 3,00 ≤ IP ≤ 3,50

Credit Transfer

Credit Transfer is a recognition to one or more credits

obtained by the students during the exchange program

Evaluation toward the transferred credit is conducted by

the department (min 75% of the content are similar)

Students can propose credit transfer for any courses

which are not listed in the curriculum, as the election

courses (with approval of department)

Termination of the study

Every student can terminate their study or to be

terminated

Some reasons for the termination of study include of:

- withdrawn by self request

- Expiration of the study period

- Violation towards ITS regulation
