Requirements for academic promotionYou need to meet the qualification requirement: PhD or equivalent qualification conferred by closing date
OR A very strong contribution to research or scholarship or
significant expertise and standing within the discipline and/or profession. This will normally only be considered where a PhD is not the usual expectation of the discipline
Before applying without a PhD, you must have the support of both your HOD and Dean of School to forward the application to the Panel This support does not mean the individual assessment reports will fully recommend promotion

Requirements for academic promotion
You also need to meet 3 promotion criteria Choose 3 criteria from choice of 4 – Teaching & Learning,
Research/Creative Works, Leadership, Service
1 criterion to be assessed on: High level of performance in duties of current level only
2 criteria to be assessed on: High level of performance in duties of current level and Satisfactory performance in duties of level above
1 of the criteria to be assessed at current level and above must be Teaching & Learning OR Research/Creative Works
Most staff should be able to meet 3 promotion criteria.
If the criteria do not apply to your position, you may apply for consideration for promotion by special case through HR department by the date specified for that round

You are expected to provide eVALUate reports if you: Are addressing Teaching & Learning at any level; and Have teaching or coordination duties
You select the reports to submit See eVALUate website for how to interpret response rates
These reports will be accepted:Teaching Evaluation Reports (TERs); andUnit Summary Reports (USRs). USRs should include your response to feedback and have been published
Please take the cover sheets off reports before sending them
Any Full Unit Reports (FURs) submitted will be deleted from your application

Choosing and contacting assessors Choose carefully
Do your assessors know your work in the area you have asked them to assess? Are they of an appropriate standing/knowledge base/experience to make a judgement? Can they represent disciplinary/professional norms for the Panel and compare your work to these?
Make sure they are happy to provide an assessment by the due date
Give them what they need to make an assessment Send them a copy of your application with the assessor report by the date specified for that round Provide them with evidence e.g. course materials, research papers, awards, evaluations

Submitting assessor reports Applicant-nominated assessor reports
These are submitted directly to the [email protected] HR emails you when each report comes in You need to ensure all the reports are submitted by the date specified for that round
HOD and Dean of School assessor reports HOD and Dean of School submit assessor reports directly to HR HR forward them to you for possible response If applicable, you send a response to HR by the specified date
All assessor reports except HOD and Dean of School reports are submitted in confidence
