1. Art MEDIUM or FORM• Medium ex. – watercolor, oil, etc.• Form ex. – printmaking, sculpture, photography• Research history, advantages/disadvantages,

process of creating it, how used• Include two artists of medium/form and

compare/contrast how they used it and give examples of work

• Create own example

2. Subject Matter

• Choose a subject, such as portraits, religion, angels

• Find two artists

• Compare/contrast style, historical era, and analyze the five elements of design (shape, line, pattern, texture, and color)

• Create own sample

3. Style

• Examples: Impressionism, Abstract

• Explain style, history, factors influencing its arrival

• Choose one or two artists and show how their work portrays this style

• Create own sample

4. Artists

• Discuss his/her five basic elements of design (color, texture, shape, pattern, line)

• Give background information on factors that influenced the artist

• Use examples of artist’s work, must ANALYZE!

• Must identify STYLE represented by artist

• MUST have prior approval form returned to Mrs.Woodward before beginning the experimentation

• Must be from a category listed in handout
