What does the Faculty Portal Do?

• The Academic Early Alert (AEA) system allows faculty members to view their students and send alerts on their students to an advisor.

• Faculty will be able to keep track of the status of the alert starting from when they send it and when the advisor closes the alert.

How do I access the Faculty Portal? • To Sign-In: go to this link to be directed to the Faculty Portal link:

o Log in with your PVAMU credentials • You can also access the link by going to the 0) PV Main Web Page 1) Academics 2)

What can I do in the Faculty Portal?

From this dashboard, you can do the following:

o View your sections o View your students o Create an alert on one or multiple students o View alert history

View Your Sections • In the top left, you can view the sections you are assigned for the semester. • Click between the sections to view the students in that corresponding section.

View Your Students • The students in your section will show up on the main dashboard. It populates with their

name, PV ID#, and their Class Level. Names can be sorted alphabetically or by Class Level. You can even search for a specific name in the search bar next to your sections.

Create an Alert on One or Multiple Students 1) To create an alert on a student or multiple students, simply click the check box to the left of the

student’s name. o Keep in mind that the same alert is submitted when choosing multiple students.

2) To the right of the dashboard, Alert Types will become available. Choose the type of alert you want for the student(s)

3) Click Next

4) Add notes on the student’s issue for the Academic Advisor to receive (the same note will appear on all students if doing multiple at a time). Then click Next. (Not shown).

5) A review of the alert will show up. It will show the Alert Type, the student(s) selected, and their

Advisor assigned to that student. The notes you inputted will show up on the bottom. Review and then click Submit Alerts.

View Alert History 1) Click on the gear symbol in the top right corner and click on Alert History.

2) In the Alert History, you can view all the alerts you have submitted and the status of each

alert.

3) By clicking on the information icon to the left of the date, you can see your notes to the adviser.

Returning to Alert Entry Screen After reviewing alerts you can return to the main screen by clicking on the word ellucian in the page header.
