A- Before the names of cities, countries, continents and

 persons.For example:

*:- +) name is ia.$not the ria%.

   /TE:-  “ THE” is used 

 before 0.1.A, 2on'o or 1udan.

B- Before a common noun used in its 3idest 'eneral sense.

 e-'- +an is +ortal.$ not the man%.

 

2- Before plural countable nouns used in 'eneral sense.

e-'- :- Birds fl) in the s#).$not the birds%.

  &:- Flo3ers are beautiful.$not the flo3ers%.

4- Before abstract nouns used in 'eneral sense.

e-'- :- Honest) is the best polic).$not the honest)%.

  &:- 5irtue is its o3n 3ords.$ not the !irtue%.

 /TE:- 6hen an abstract noun is used in a

 particular sense or 3hen it is 7ualified b) anad8ecti!e, it should ta#e an article before it. As,

The honest) of ma brother is abo!e board$ here

honest) is an abstract noun but 9the has been

used before it.

E- Before mass or material nouns. For example,

:- "a#istan ta#e rice.$ not the rice%.

noun. For example,

H- Before the names of diseases , colours, meals,

lan'ua'es and sub8ects. For example,
