Comparison of ”The Prophetic Model of Interfaith
Dialogue with Christians” and ”Event of the
Radically Revelation in the Theology of Walter
Kasper”
Jen-Chien Lin1
1Phd Candidate, Graduate Institute of Religious Studies-NCCU
Abstract
Background - The religious dialogue between Islam and Christianity is
a great mission that is working hard today. This kind of thinking will lead
Muslims and Christians to experience God's will with virtuous hearts, in
order to defuse the “religious rigidity” crisis. Because Islam and Christianity
are both revealing monotheistic religions, they are very strictly exclusive, but
they are also universal. The two religions’ contradictory features cause
tensions between them.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore “The Promise of
Muhammad to the Christians until the End of the World” from the “Prophetic
Model of Interfaith Dialogue with Christians”, and to make a comparison
with the contemporary Roman Catholic Cardinal Walter Kasper’s (1933 - )
view that apocalyptic theology is an “Event of the Radically New”. In
particular, an in-depth exploration of the “Constitution of Medina” and the
“People of the Book”(Ahl al-Kitāb) documents describes the pattern of
dialogue between the prophets. The universal characteristics of Islam and
Christianity are based on this dialogue.
Design/methodology/approach - This article will use the literature
survey method to analyze the origin, content, and influence of the Promise of
Muhammad within the “Prophetic Model of Interfaith Dialogue with
Christians”. The historical events that developed due to the Prophet
Muhammad's revelations are the “Event of the Radically New”. The
description of Walter Caspar's apocalyptic theology is also the “Event of the
Radically New”, which leads to the possibility of dialogue and harmony
between the two religions.
3
Findings - The key to problems discovered in the past is: How the various
phenomena, interpretations, and positions in the revelations of the Muslim
Prophet Muhammad and in the revelations of Christianity can gradually find
common ground to solve their differences, which is very important for Islam
and Christianity. In other words, the exclusivity and universality of
monotheism are not an obstacle to dialogue; rather, they are two of its most
basic constituents.
Research limitations - The study of dialogue is limited by differences
between classical languages, cultures, and races.
Originality/value - The universal value of this dialogue should be made
to conform to their monotheistic revelations, so that mutual tolerance,
acceptance, and peace can be achieved

medical documents even though she has given birth to baby either during off

6
leave without any leave record. Such teachers mostly have powerful family
