However, beside these consequences, reduced power quality also leads to additional losses in the power system. The uses of electronic appliances, variable speed drives, electronic ballasts, computers etc. have increased massively. Because of their non-linear operating characteristics these devices are inuencing the quality of the network voltage. Now a days the Renewable Energy Sources plays very important role to meet the increasing power demand at distribution level as conventional sources are unable to meet the load. As the power injected by the RES is discontinuous nature, it will further deteriorates the quality at the distribution level due to various non-linear loads. In this paper, a PV based inverter is proposed to act as a shunt APF to reduce the current harmonics and current unbalances problems due to combination of nonlinear and unbalanced loads, apart from the power conversion work. This will eliminate the additional use of shunt active power lters which will reduce the extra cost. Here for the controlling of the inverter we used hysteresis current control technique.
