ABS CEMENT - LOW VOC

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Christy’s ABS Cement low voc is a black, medium/heavy body, fast setting ABS solvent

cement. ABS is designed to be used on all schedules and classes of ABS pipe throught 8".

• Versitile for use on all types of ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene) and styrene plastic pipe

applications.

• Suitable for conduit, sewer, DWV and foam core piping.

• Applicable performance specification: Meets ASTM D 2235, NSF/ANSI Standard 14,

SCAQMD Rule 1168/316A. Certified to Uniform Plumbing Code by NSF.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Consult the SDS for health and safety specifics. Always use in a

well-ventilated environment. Wear safety glasses and gloves at all times. DO NOT USE a dry granular

calcium hypochlorite as a disinfecting material for water purification in potable water piping systems.

The introduction of granules or pellets of calcium hypochlorite with ABS solvent cements (including

their vapors) may result in a violent chemical reaction if a water solution is not used. It is advisable

to purify lines by pumping chlorinated water into the piping system - this solution will be non-volatile.

Furthermore, dry granular calcium hypochlorite should not be stored or used near solvent cements

and primers.
