SERENDIPITY 3

225 E. 60th St. Between 2nd and 3rd Ave. New York, NY, 10022, United States

I spent my spring break exploring miles and miles of the one and only New York City. My best friend from Argentina, Chohye, has been attending the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) for the past four years thus she was the perfect tour guide.

One of our “must-do’s” was Serendipity 3, a charming cafe- style restaurant in Midtown. Upon entering with other guests that swarmed the hostess, we were informed there would be a two-hour wait.

The wait was definitely worth it and we were pleasantly surprised by this Upper East side favorite. The décor was quirky, yet charming, with tiffany lamps, large hanging butterflies, and a sprinkle of Andy Warhol on the walls. Waiters hustled about the restaurant with trays of the infamous Frrrozen hot chocolates, a huge dessert that is meant to be shared by four or more people (although most people indulge by ordering their very own).

After reading over their oversized menus, we ordered mushroom burgers and a frozen treat. Be sure to visit this little hot spot next time you visit the Big Apple!

The term paradigm-shifting is seldom used in regard to a Caribbean vacation. But this is St. Lucia, and it is hardly your typical Caribbean vacation spot. Plenty of people have heard of St. Lucia—its reputation for beauty precedes it—yet relatively few have been. That’s too bad for them.
