PAR TO EXCELLENCE
M.ARUN , Assistant .Professor ECE
If you are into your second year, B. E., it’s perhaps
right time to plan on where you want to see yourself in
next 2 years, from now. The race gets harder ever that
you need to decide how you shape your career after
your graduation.
If you think your interpersonal skills can take you to
heights, and if you feel you are not a very technical
person, a good option may be pursuing MBA which
then streams your plans into two MBA in India? Or
abroad? You may have the IIM’s at the first in the
priority list if you choose to be in India. To ensure a
place in one of the top IIMs you need to secure 90
percentile in your CAT (Common Admission Test).
There are also an n number of B-schools, accepting
80+ CAT scores. If you aspire MBA abroad, you should
be taking up GMAT (Graduate Management Admission
Test). It is a Computer Adaptive standardized test in
mathematics and the English language for measuring
aptitude to succeed academically in graduate business
studies.
Business schools commonly use this test as one of many
selection criteria for admission into graduate business
administration programs (e.g. MBA, Master of
Accountancy, etc.) principally in the United States, but
also in other English-speaking countries. If you are
rather a technical person, you should be choosing MS,
in the field of your interest. GRE (Graduate Record
Examination) is what you will have to take up for this.
Graduate programs and business schools use GRE
scores to evaluate your readiness for graduate level
work. The GRE General Test measures verbal
reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and
analytical writing skills that are not related to any
specific field of study.
If you dream to pursue higher studies in IITs, you will
have to take up the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in
Engineering).

A BETTER GPS IN HAND
ARAVIND C, III ECE
You can already use your smart phone to locate the
nearest Thai restaurant or find your way to the
cheapest parking garage. But soon, you may be able to
use your device to plan your entire day — from what
bus you should catch in the morning to which
restaurant you should swing by on your way to the
airport.
GPS Navigator
A new software program that integrates with a
phone's voice recognition system (such as Apple's
computerized assistant, Siri) serves as both travel
adviser and taskmaster. It can tell you what time the
next bus will arrive, but it can also tell you to hustle if
you're running late or whether you have time to grab a
cup of coffee on your way to the bus stop.
The program, which is being developed by researchers
at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),
works by allowing users to specify their preferences —
for example, by telling the software if they're willing to
forgo going out for breakfast in order to catch the right
bus.
It’s a complete guidance system that helps you make
your everyday schedule an easy and an enjoying task.
RING : ONE GESTUE IS ALL YOU NEED!
KAVITHA R, III ECE
Ring is nothing but an incognito wearable gadget that
provides shortcut for almost everything.
It gets connected to your T.V, lights, fans an all
electrical appliances through your smart phone. Your
smart phone should be installed with an Application
called RING STORE which can be downloaded from
your play store.
It has a capacitor button on its side which when
pressed, activates the ring. The simple gestures given
by your hand becomes the input for the ring. Simply
writing “TV” in air links your TV and your television is
turned ON. The light in the room are linked by just
drawing the “LIGHT ICON” in air and this light can
be dimmed or strengthened according the gesture given
by your hand.
The basic process is that ring captures then analyses
gestures and sends the collected information to the mart
phone connected to it. The vibration and LED present
in the ring notify the status and notifications of your
mobile and your social networks connected to your
mobile. Ring has its own gesture marks and for the user
connivance the gesture marks can be edited using the
RING application. Thus ring make customization
simple and very easy. The gestures are captured so
accurately that even text messages can be written in air
by just connecting your phone. Thus the power lies in
your finger : Kickstarter RING.

QUALCOMM INSPIRED BY NEUROMORPHIC
CHIPS
SHREE KRISHNA PRIYA J III ECE
The world’s largest smart phone chipmaker,
Qualcomm, says it is ready to start helping partners
manufacture a radically different kind of a chip one
that mimics the neural structures and processing
methods found in the brain.
The idea of neuromorphic chips dates back
decades. Carver Mead, the Caltech professor emeritus
who is a legend in integrated-circuit design, coined the
term in a 1990 paper, describing how analog chips
those that vary in their output, like real-world
phenomena, in contrast to the binary, on-or-off nature
of digital chips could mimic the electrical activity of
neurons and synapses in the brain. But he struggled to
find ways to reliably build his analog chip designs.
Only one arguably neuromorphic processor, a noise
suppression chip made by Audience, has sold in the
hundreds of millions. The chip, which is based on the
human cochlea, has been used in phones from Apple,
Samsung, and others. As a commercial company,
Qualcomm has opted for pragmatism over sheer
performance in its design. That means the
neuromorphic chips it’s developing are still digital
chips, which are more predictable and easier to
manufacture than analog ones.Today’s computer
systems are built with separate units for storing
information and processing it sequentially, a design
known as the Von Neumann architecture. By contrast,
brain like architectures process information in a
distributed, parallel way, modeled after how the
neurons and synapses work in a brain.
Qualcomm has already developed new software
tools that simulate activity in the brain. These networks,
which model the way individual neurons convey
information through precisely timed spikes, allow
developers to write and compile biologically inspired
programs. Qualcomm is using this approach to build a
class of processors called neural processing units
(NPUs). It envisions NPUs that are massively parallel,
reprogrammable, and capable of cognitive tasks like
classification and prediction. “What we’re talking
about is scale, making it into a platform,” said Grob
during his talk. “We want to make it easier for
researchers to make a part of the brain.”
For several years Qualcomm and Brain
Corp, a separate company it has invested in, have been
working on hardware and algorithms that attempt to
mimic the processes of the human brain. The company
calls the overall program Zeroth, borrowing from the
science fiction author Isaac Asimov’s “Zeroth Law of
Robotics” (which specifies that robots must not harm
humanity).
A GOOGLE GLASS APP FOR INSTANT
MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS.
LEENA M, II ECE
The integration of consumer electronics with advanced
imaging and analytical platforms holds great promises
for medical point-of-care diagnostics and
environmental rapid field testing for pollutants and
viruses. For instance, in a recent Nanowerk
Spotlight we reported on the use of smartphones to
detect single nanoparticles and viruses. In this work, a
research group led by Aydogan Ozcan, a professor in
the Electrical and Bioengineering Department at UCLA
and Associate Director of the California NanoSystems
Institute (CNSI), created a field-portable fluorescence
microscopy platform installed on a smartphone for
imaging of individual nanoparticles as well as viruses
using a light-weight and compact opto-mechanical
attachment to the existing camera module of the
cellphone. In new work, Ozcan's group has now
developed a Google Glass application and a server
platform for instant, wireless diagnostic testing of a
variety of health conditions and diseases."This
technology allows Google Glass wearers to use the
hands-free camera on the device to send images of
diagnostic tests that screen for conditions such as HIV
or prostate cancer," Ozcan explains to Nanowerk.
"Without relying on any additional devices, Google
Glass users can upload these images and receive
accurate analysis of health conditions in as little as
eight seconds.
Google Glass and demonstration of imaging a rapid
diagnostic test (RDT). (a) Front-profile view of the

labeled. (b) Example of using the Glass for taking an
image of an RDT as part of our RDT reader
application. (Reprinted with permission from American
Chemical Society) (click image to enlarge)This is the
first biomedical sensing application created through
Google Glass.
This breakthrough technology takes advantage of gains
in both immunochromatographic rapid diagnostic tests
(RDTs) and wearable computers (such as Google
Glass). The team reported their findings in the February
27, 2014 online edition of ACS
Nano ("Immunochromatographic Diagnostic Test
Analysis Using Google Glass").Over the past decade,
RDTs – which are in general based on light scattering
off surface-functionalized metallic nanoparticles – have
emerged as a quick and cost-effective method to screen
various diseases and have provided various advantages
for tackling public health problems including more
effective tracking/monitoring of chronic conditions,
infectious diseases and widespread medical testing by
minimally trained medical personnel or community
healthcare workers.The new Google Glass-based
diagnostic technology could improve individual
tracking of dangerous conditions or diseases, public
health monitoring and rapid response in disaster relief
areas or quarantine zones.
This is how it works: The user takes a photo of the RDT
device through the camera system in Google Glass.
Using a Quick Response (QR) code identifier, which is
custom-designed and attached to each RDT cassette,
this custom-written Glass application is capable of
automatically finding and identifying the type of the
RDT of interest, along with other information (e.g.,
patient data) that can be linked to the same QR code.
The data is transmitted to a central server which has
been set up for fast and high-throughput evaluation of
test results coming from multiple devices
simultaneously. The data is processed automatically and
to create a quantitative diagnostic result, which is then
returned to the Google Glass user.
"We also developed a centralized database and Web
interface for visualizing uploaded data in the form of
geo-tagged map data, which can be quite useful for
short- and long-term spatiotemporal tracking of the
evolution," says Ozcan. "This web portal allows users
to view test results, maps charting the geographical
spread of various diseases and conditions, and the
cumulative data from all the tests they have submitted
over time."He also points out that the precision of the
Google Glass camera system permits quantified
reading of the results to a few-parts-per-billion level of
sensitivity – far greater than that of the naked eye –
thus eliminating the potential for human error in
interpreting results, which is a particular concern if the
user is a health care worker who routinely deals with
many different types of tests.
The team tested their Google Glass-based RDT reader
platform through commercially available human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and prostate-specific
antigen (PSA) rapid tests. The researchers took images
of tests under normal, indoor, fluorescent-lit room
conditions. They submitted more than 400 images of the
two tests, and the RDT reader and server platform were
able to read the images 99.6 percent of the time.Ozcan
notes that, for wide-scale deployment and use of this
Google Glass application, the sales price of Glass
should be cost-effective enough to compete with mobile
phones and low enough to enter developing markets.
"We are quite hopeful on this end as Google is very
well aware of all these emerging opportunities.

CAN YOU IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT
COMPUTERS?
NAVEEN P
If you were asked to think about how the world would
be without computers what would be the first thing that
comes to mind? Without your laptop or home computer
you would lose the ability to interact on social
networking sites, be unable to do your banking from
home, and no longer be able to fact-check things on
Wikipedia. Computers are so intricately woven into our
everyday lives that we fail to consider all of the areas in
which computers play an integral part.
Technological Meltdown Imminent
Imagine if you will that one morning all computers
around the world stopped working due to a massive
solar storm that was forecast to last for decades, what
would happen? Simply put - chaos! People around the
world would be unable to perform even some of the
most basic tasks without the aid of computers. We all
rely on computers in one form or another to get us
through our daily tasks, from the digital alarm clock
that wakes us up each morning to the cars we use to
drive to work, to the ATM machines that allow us to
access our cash; these are only the tip of the iceberg.
Businesses big and small rely on computers to perform
and monitor their operations each day, from the vast
manufacturing plants through to the smallest
convenience store. All of the expensive life-saving
equipment in your local hospital relies on computers
including the way that the patient records are held and
controlled. If this technology continuum were to cease
suddenly, the world as we know it will change
dramatically.
Dire Consequences for All
Imagine if, additionally, all of the electronic details that
are held on servers all over the world were destroyed in
such a scenario. Stock markets all over the globe will
crash and burn. Industries and businesses will go to the
wall; everyone from the high street banks to the big
name grocery stores will suffer. The entertainment
industry will die and all methods of modern day
transportation will cease; airplanes will be grounded,
trains will not run and cars will not start. The world
will become a place of rioting and unrest, medical
services will be faced with patients that they cannot
hope to treat and the world will quite simply be plunged
into chaos.
Survival of the Fittest
In these darkened times humanity would be required to
call upon its basic survival skills and instinct will take
the lead, as in millennia past shelter, food and water
will become priorities for all and whatever possessions
we manage to keep hold of after the technological
apocalypse we would guard with our lives. No matter
what our role in society was before the darkness
descended all that matters now is day to day existence;
past achievements and successes will mean nothing.
Crime rates will escalate dramatically and the law
makers and law enforcers will struggle to cope. Horses
would once again become the main method of transport
and medical services will need to develop some
unorthodox treatment methods in order to meet the
needs of the population. Are you ready for such an
apocalypse? Neither am I, but it sure is fun to think
about!

3G vs. 4G: What's the Difference?
M.S.SARAVANAN
For average consumers, '3G' and '4G' are two of the
most mysterious terms in the mobile technology
dictionary, but they're used relentlessly to sell phones
and tablets. If you're shopping for a new phone, the
answer isn't clear-cut, and you shouldn't always go for
the higher number. Our primer will help explain which
technology to pick.
3G and 4G Explained First things first, the "G" stands
for a generation of mobile technology, installed in
phones and on cellular networks. Each "G" generally
requires you to get a new phone, and for networks to
make expensive upgrades. The first two were analog
cell phones (1G) and digital phones (2G). Then it got
complicated.
Third-generation mobile networks, or 3G, came to the
U.S. in 2003. With minimum consistent Internet speeds
of 144Kbps, 3G was supposed to bring "mobile
broadband." There are now so many varieties of 3G,
though, that a "3G" connection can get you Internet
speeds anywhere from 400Kbps to more than ten times
that.
New generations usually bring new base technologies,
more network capacity for more data per user, and the
potential for better voice quality, too.
4G phones are supposed to be even faster, but that's not
always the case. There are so many technologies called
"4G," and so many ways to implement them, that the
term is almost meaningless. The International
Telecommunications Union, a standards body, tried to
issue requirements to call a network 4G but they were
ignored by carriers, and eventually the ITU backed
down. 4G technologies include HSPA+ 21/42, the now
obsolete WiMAX, and LTE (although some consider
LTE the only true 4G of that bunch, and some people
say none of them are fast enough to qualify.)
There's a big difference between 4G LTE and other
technologies called "4G" though, and it's most visible
in upload speeds. If you upload a lot of data - posting
photos or videos, for instance - you'll find LTE's upload
speeds are far better than those on HSPA.
There are many different ways to implement LTE, too,
so you can't assume all LTE speeds are the same.
Carriers with more available radio spectrum for LTE
can typically run faster networks than carriers with less
spectrum, for instance.
This confusion is why we run our annual Fastest
Mobile Networks story, which tests 3G and 4G
networks in 30 cities nationwide. In this year's tests, we
generally found that on speed alone Verizon's 4G LTE
network was the fastest, followed by T-Mobile LTE,
AT&T LTE, T-Mobile HSPA+, Sprint LTE, AT&T
HSPA, Verizon 3G and finally Sprint 3G.
Would you like to know more about LTE, the global
standard for 4G? Read our primer, What Is LTE? Over
at ExtremeTech. When to Go For 4G In 2015, almost
everyone should have a 4G phone. Verizon now has
nationwide 4G LTE coverage. T-Mobile and MetroPCS
have nationwide HSPA+ 42 and growing LTE
networks. AT&T has broad LTE coverage. Sprint is still
building out LTE, but by next year the carrier aims to
be comprehensive.
If you like to surf the Web and especially stream video,
4G can be heaven. If you connect a laptop to your
mobile link, 4G makes a huge difference. In general,
anything involving transferring large amounts of data
gets a big boost from 4G. Watch out for the data limits
on your service plan, though; it's easy to use up a lot of
data very quickly with 4G. If you have a 3G phone and
you've been frustrated with slow data, 4G may be the
solution. 4G won't solve any dropped call problems,
though, as all calls will be made over older networks
until carriers switch to voice-over-LTE during the next
few years. Finally, if you want to future-proof yourself,
get a 4G phone. 4G coverage is only going to get
better, and that's where the carriers are spending most
of their money right now. You can assume that all 4G
phones also support your carrier's 3G and 2G networks
as well.
Should You Even Consider 3G? There are a few
reasons you might still settle for a 3G phone. If your
phone is mostly for voice use, you have no need for 4G
data. Save money and save battery life by choosing a
device without the high-speed network.

If you live in an area that doesn't have 4G coverage,
there's no advantage to a 4G phone. In fact, you'll have
serious battery life problems if you buy an LTE phone
and don't disable 4G LTE, as the radio's search for a
non-existent signal will drain your battery quickly.

Bio- heat transfer model of human eye
Laser surgery is used in several eye related treatment
including retinal detachment and macular
degeneration. During laser irradiation, pigmented
retinal and adjacent choroidal region absorb most of
the energy. Overheating of these tissues above
photocoagulation (~ 60 degree C) could lead to
thermal damage disrupting cellular mechanisms. We
formulated a bio-heat transfer model for the human
eye, incorporating several parameters of interest
including the choroidal blood perfusion. Using the
retinal irradiation specifications during an actual
surgery, the simulation results suggested over-heating
of certain retinal regions. Pulsation of laser irradiation
with specific parameters is proposed as a method to
reduce thermal damage in these regions.

ENGLISH POEMS
ALPHA AND OMEGA M.SHAMI SELES
Snuggled and cuddled in thy arms, I struck the first
chord
Every key my little fingers reached, created a magic-
music;
Melody from the harp, enchanted the air with love
Vibrato of the violin was vibrant as I bowed,
Choirs of angels made my symphony spectacular,
As Apollo, himself, applauded and tapped to the tune;
Orchestra owes its ovation in the opera to its concert
master – You
Dear amma and appa; - You made the song of my life a
masterpiece.
Though the rythm is defined by trials and triumph,
Through it all, you held me safe, in the hollow of thy
palm.
Each step I walked, you always tugged me at my
heartstring!
Thou might be ole, yet thou art my all in all.
From dawn to dusk, from womb to tomb; You are
My beginning and end. - Thou art the Alpha and
Omega!
P.S: Dedicated to my parents
THE LAST SPEECH
M.SHAMI SELES
I turned ten last Sunday,
I wanna hold a pen someday;
Among the woods, on a barren land
I stand without a helping hand.
With ruffling treasures, the
fortunate deck their bodies
Adorning with the fashion in air.
The birthday gown, princess crown
They have fun, I have none.
B'day bash with loads of cash,
Oh, my dreams are burnt to ash.
I live in trash, a world so black
They still frown, I mourn.
As the elite say cheers on b'day eve
Blood and tears, together I weep.
In the garbage heap, I hunt for mid day meat
Bread nor wheat - nothing to eat.
At times I feed, even on weeds
My tummy so tender and meek.
None pay heed to my many needs
A meal is all I seek.
In a sea of sand I live, with
Grumpy cactus and humpy beasts. I
Guess to all deserted, desert is the
Home so sweet, hunger is the friend we greet.
Every night I silence my tummy,
hoping my miracle would bloom
I wish there's a genie who'd grant me a boon:
I long for the day, to hold a spoon,

Ho! How I wish, I could sup on the moon.
If I was Hansel, I'd have swallowed the candy mansion,
If I was Maidas, I'd turn everything I touch to bun.
I still hope manna would rain down,
And ginger bread man would just walk around.
Agony and pain, has taken my flesh away;
Only my skin and ribs are yet to wither away
If a pixie had sprinkled a drop of water
I'd have lived a longer day.
I fell, to the dust;
Sun above, the land so brown.
My little feet could stand no more,
My inner core could grow no more.
I lie on the loam,
Nudely stripped away.
The hunger wave, took my breath away.
I lay; naked, cold and dead!

GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN
ENGINEERING (GATE)
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is
an all-India examination that primarily tests the
comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate
subjects in engineering and science. GATE is conducted
jointly by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and
the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay,
Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and
Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board
– GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of
Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government
of India.
The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative
performance level of a candidate. The score is used for
admissions to various post-graduate education
programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of
Technology, Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher
education institutes, with financial assistance provided
by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently,
GATE scores are also being used by several Indian
public sector undertakings (i.e., government-owned
companies) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-
level positions. It is one of the most competitive
examinations in India.
Duration and examination type
The examination is of 3 hours duration, and contains a
total of 65 questions worth a maximum of 100 marks.
From 2014 onward, the examination for all the papers
is carried out in an online Computer Based Test (CBT)
mode where the candidates are shown the questions in
a random sequence on a computer screen. The
questions consist of both multiple choice questions
(four answer options out of which the correct one has to
be chosen) and numerical answer type questions
(answer is a real number, to be entered via an on-
screen keypad and computer mouse).Candidates are
provided with blank paper sheets for rough work and
these have to be returned after the examination. At the
end of the 3-hour window, the computer automatically
closes the screen from further actions.
Result and test score
GATE results are usually declared about one month
after the examinations are over. The results show the
total marks scored by a candidate, the GATE score, the
all-India rank and the cut off marks for various
categories in the candidate's paper. The score is valid
for 3 years from the date of announcement of the
results. The score cards are issued only to qualified
candidates.
Stipend and tenure:
The fellowship amount is INR25000 (US$390) per
month plus HRA (house rent allowance). In addition,
contingency grant of INR20000 (US$310) per annum
(calculated on pro-rata basis for fraction of a year) is
also provided. On completion of 2 years as JRF -
GATE, the fellowship may be upgraded to SRF (Senior
Research Fellowship) - GATE and stipend may be
increased to INR28000 (US$440) per month in the

subsequent years, on the basis of assessment of CSIR
JRF-NET guidelines.
The total duration of the fellowship is 5 years, within
which the candidate is expected to complete the Ph.D.
degree.
Recruitment through GATE
Public sector undertakings (PSUs) in India, for long,
have had troubles conducting their recruitment
processes with more than 100,000 students taking the
exams for less than 1000 jobs (a selection rate of less
than 1%). After sensing the exponential rise in the
number of engineering graduates in India who wish to
get a PSU job, the PSUs have decided that a GATE
score shall be the primary criteria for initial
shortlisting. This change was the primary cause for the
rapid increase in applicants for GATE 2012.
Indian Oil Corporation was the first PSU which
successfully tested out this system and was followed two
years later by National Thermal Power Corporation,
Bharat Heavy Electricals, Bharat Electronics &
PowerGrid Corporation of India.
Usually these companies release their recruitment
notifications right after GATE notification, indicating
that candidates have to take GATE to be considered for
a job in their organizations.

COMMON ADMISSION TEST
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer
based test held in India. This test scores a person on the
bases of quantitative ability, data interpretation, verbal
ability and logical reasoning. The Indian Institutes of
Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test
for selecting students for their business administration
programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the
IIM's based on a policy of rotation. In August 2011, it
was announced that Indian Institutes of Technology
(IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) would also
use the CAT scores, instead of the Joint Management
Entrance Test (JMET), to select students for their
management programmes from 2012-14 year
Approval
CAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of
Management as a pre-requisite for admission to
various management programmes of IIMs, Indian
Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of
Science (IISc), National Institutes of Technology
(NITs), Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and few
other institutions.
CAT 2014 had a 170 minute test consisting of 100
questions(50 from quantitative ability & data
interpretation and 50 from verbal ability & logical
reasoning).
Exam format
The Common Admission Test (CAT), like virtually all
large-scale exams, utilises multiple forms, or versions,
of the test. Hence there are two types of scores
involved: a raw score and a scaled score.
The raw score is calculated for each section based on
the number of questions one answered correctly,
incorrectly, or omitted. Candidates are given +3 points
for each correct answer and -1 point for each incorrect
answer. No points are given for questions that are not
answered. The raw scores are then adjusted through a
process called equating. Equated raw scores are then
placed on a common scale or metric to ensure
appropriate interpretation of the scores. This process is
called scaling.
Test Duration and Pattern
The CAT 2014 had only two sections. The first section
is Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; the
second section is Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.
The examination was of 170 minutes with no sectional
time limits.
Three scaled scores will be presented for each
candidate: an overall scaled score and two separate
scaled scores for each section. As the two sections
evaluate distinct sets of knowledge and skills, scores do
not correlate across sections. A high score in one
section does not guarantee a high score in another
section. Percentile rankings are provided for each
individual section as well as for the overall exam score.
Dates for CAT 2015 are expected to be released in
July-August.

analyzing skills. There are two parts in this section that
needs to be answered by the student. The first part has
to be finished in 45 minute time limit. The student has to
write an essay on the issue of a give topic. The second
part deals with analysis of an argument and needs to be
completed within 30 minutes. Of the 3 sections the
writing test is the first to be taken.
Examples on topics of the Analytical section are
available online on the GRE Online web page.
The student is allowed to take the examination only
once in a month and a total of 5 times in one year
period.
The unofficial GRE scores of the tests are available to
the student as soon as the test is completed.
The official GRE scores are sent to the student and to
the institutions to which the student would be applying
within 10 to 15 days after the Exam.
The student can register for the examination online in
the www.gre.org web site or by calling the 800 number
