3. Project Pengyou ChaptersBridge-builders of change on campus across America
Project Pengyou chapters are community hubs of bridge-builders led by trained Leadership Fellows. Chapters conduct activities that deepen engagement between Americans and Chinese people, develop next- generation US-China leadership, and encourage members to pay it forward through community service projects.
Jan 2011. The Golden Bridges Foundation invited by the State Department to build an alumni network for the 100,000 Strong Initiative (Project Pengyou).
Aug 2012. Project Pengyou develops online features for the social networking platform and launches new beta site.
Mar 2014. Project Pengyou convenes 40 young US-China leaders as the first cohort of Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows to participate in the inaugural Leadership Training Summit at Harvard University.
Nov 2014. Launched the first annual “Pengyou Day” campaign, a day of massive grassroots action around the nation promoting exchange between Americans and Chinese.
