There 5,000 different species of ladybugs in the world.

A ladybugs wings bat together 85 times per second while there are flying.

The ladybug has 6 legs made up of 5 parts. It also has a head, a thorax

and an abdomen.

Where I live!

Ladybugs live in gardens on leaves, grass, in trees and in bushes.

They are one of the first insects to appear in spring.

Some species of ladybugs form a group and move into higher places like, hills or tree tops.

What I eat!

Ladybugs mostly eat insects that eat plants and crops.

They eat aphids, mites, fleas and sometimes they eat fungus growing on plants.

Ladybugs chew from side to side not up and down.

Ladybugs let out a bad smelling gas that stops predators from eating them.

The spots on ladybugs fade as they get older.
