About International Conference:-

The inaugural session will be chaired by Hon’ble The Chief Justice of India on 1st February 2020, followed by several working sessions in which the chosen delegates and students from 118 Law Institutes will present papers out of which the selected papers will be published in the Indian Bar Review quarterly journal of the Bar Council of India. The paper selection panel is headed by a retired Hon’ble Judge of the High Court and Vice Chancellor of National Law University. The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in collaboration with the Bar Council of India is organizing an “International Conference” in the wake of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gymnasium Hall Punjab University, Chandigarh on 1st & 2nd February 2020, which is to be inaugurated by Hon’ble The Chief Justice of India Sh. Sharad Arvind Bobde. Mr. Horacio Bernardes Neto, President of The International Bar Association, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Cabinet Minister Govt. of India and Hon’ble The Chief Justice of Nepal will also be participating. The other dignitaries include Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Courts of neighboring countries, law makers, jurists, diplomats, scholars & delegates from U.K. U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh who are likely to attend the conference on the subject of “Philosophy of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and its relevance today in Equity, Social Justice and Environment”.

Note:- Topic can be chosen from any one of the five themes mentioned above and have to be co-related with the keynote conference topic.

More than 600 delegates alongwith the office bearers of various State Bar Councils and High Court Bar Associations pan India are likely to attend the conference.

Ÿ Co-authorship shall be permitted. There is no bar on the number of co-authors.

Eligibility:-

For the Paper (to be submitted before the conference deadline) Ÿ The work should be original, and must not be previously

p u b l i s h e d o r m u s t n o t b e i n t h e s t a g e o f submission/consideration anywhere else.

Ÿ A paper should be written explaining the aims and motives of the content. Submissions should be made in paper/.doc/.docx format only.

Ÿ The word limit, excluding footnotes, endnotes, references and bibliography can arrange between 2000-3500 words.

Submission Guidelines:-

Ÿ Each submission must be accompanied by a short description of the author/s.

Ÿ The submission is open to all students, research scholars, teachers and professionals around the world.

Ÿ The main text will be in Times New Roman, Font size 10. Substantive footnotes are accepted.

Ÿ However all authors must register separately as delegates for the conference.

Ÿ The bibliographies or reference lists are not mandatory. The citation mode will be in Harvard Bluebook (Professional Edition-19th)

Ÿ The paper selection panel reserves the right to reject or edit any paper whose content is offensive or defamatory; similarly a paper may be refused if the panel deems that it is harmful of sentiments or interests intended.

Ÿ The soft copy of the paper must be sent via email given above before 31st January 2020.

Ÿ The paper shall be construed to not infringe the copyright or any other right of a third party, if so, the International Conference Organizing Committee disclaims any responsibility for copyright violation or any other liability.

Ÿ The paper shall be considered the property of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, which reserves the right of publication of the same in any book or in any other manner as it may deem appropriate, without providing any royalty or compensation.

Ÿ Power Point Presentation:- The paper can be presented through a power point presentation. It must not contain more than 15 slides.

Ÿ Types of research papers can be l i t e ra ture rev iew, exploratory/original research, case study, descriptive, religious, commentary or a mix of various types.

Ÿ The Certificate of publication will be issued to the contributor/s whose paper is selected for publication and other certificates of presentation/ participation/selective merit according to the best judgment of the Panel will be given.

Ÿ A certification of participation will be issued to all the participants of the International Conference 2020.

Ÿ Registration for International Conference 2020 is mandatory for participation.
