COURSE DESCRIpTION

This three day course will provide a practical and multimodality (US, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy) comprehensive review of the fundamentals and advances in the imaging diagnosis of common medical and surgical conditions, as they involve the abdomen and pelvis. In response to the constantly developing field of abdominal and pelvic imaging that makes it difficult for the practicing radiologist to stay current and up-to-date, this comprehensive postgraduate course reviews the new techniques and clinical applications used currently in GI and GU radiology. The course is designed for generalized and subspecialized radiologists interested in abdominal and pelvic imaging, and those who wish to learn the latest in GI and GU radiology from local and world-renowned experts. The basic educational format is didactic lecture style supplemented by question and answer periods. There will be significant time for audience interaction.

COURSE ObjECTIVES

At the end of this course, participants will:• Select and perform appropriate imaging tests to evaluate diseases involving the abdomen and pelvis.

• Improve their ability to recognize the key imaging features for accurate diagnosis of diseases involving the abdomen

and pelvis.• Better utilize MR, CT, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound imaging resources in the evaluation of patients with abdominal and pelvic disorders.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Radiology: practicing community and academic radiologists, residents, and fellows with interest in abdominal and pelvic imaging.

Other specialties: clinical physicians in surgery, gastroenterology, hepatology, urology, gynecology withinterest in abdominal and pelvic imaging.
