A

In accordance with BS5839 all cable routes within common areas must perform to a minimum of part 1:clause 26.2(f). Regulation 521.11 within BS7671 2008 Amedment 3 states in Chapter 52 (Selection and Erection of Wiring Systems)

that Wiring systems in escape routes shall be supported in such a way that they will not be liable to premature collapse in the event of fire. The cables must be secured at appropriate intervals within the trunking and on walls with fire clips.

The fire clips will be secured to the wall using masonry screws and gas fired nails that have a 2 hour fire-resistant certification.

B

Externally installed customer drop cables will be attached to a stainless steel galvanised catenary cable that is fitted to the outside of the building with eyebolts. The cables will be secured to the catenary wire.

C

All new drill holes required to pull cables through to different levels of the building or between fire compartmented areas must be firestopped with a suitable approved intumescent material. Any existing firestop that is disturbed during the installation will be replaced by material that meets the current standard.

Community Fibre propose to install splitters in the internal risers and run the fibre cables through the riser secured to the existing cable tray. Fibre to run through existing holes between floors (Fire seal to broken through and replaced and then certified)

*

Fibre will then run out of the risers into the false ceiling. Fibre to be secured to the wall using fire clips. 5m fibre coils to be left in the false ceiling until an install has been booked.

Plan

OLT cabinet to be placed in the basment of Glastonbury House. OLT to be powered from spare socket in the fuse board within basement electrical room. A meter will be fitted to ensure Commuity Fibres power consumption is calculated correctly.

*

Electrical supply to be tested and certificated for health and safety once installed. Fibre feed cable required for OLT will run through from existing ducts in the street to the basement and then to the OLT. New cable trays to be installed to keep cables tidy.

*

Once OLT has been installed fibre distribution cables can be run to serve all blocks within the Abbots Manor Estate. Fibre cables to run either in cable trays or fixed to the wall neatly within the basement area of Glastonbury House.

*

Community Fibre will run fibre cables and the power cable through existing holes where possible replacing or installing fire seals as required. (Fire seals are tested by a 3rd party contractor after install).

5

Distribution fibre cables to be run from the aux joint in the Glastonbury House basement location, through Qpark and through existing ducting to reach Tintern House. At Tintern House fibre cable is to run up to rooftop where a distribution joint and splitter need to be installed.

6

Once the joint and splitter has been installed fibre drop cables will run through existing cable trays on the rooftop to the drop locations where Community Fibre plan to run the cables down in a bundle and neatly leave 5m coils at each property fibre to be fixed to wall via catenary fibre.

7

Distribution fibre cable to run from the joint on Tintern across to the location shown on Dryburgh House where another splitter box is required. Fibre cables to be run within galvanised cable tray.

8

Once the splitter has been installed individual fibre cables will be run again within cable trays to the drop locations where the fibre cables will be run down the side of the building in small bundles with neat 5m coils to be left at each properties living room window for later installation.

11

Distribution fibre cable to be run from Aux Joint location within Glastonbury House basement area and then through the Qpark. Cable will then run through a new section of civils and up to the roof of Sherbourne House. On Sherbourne House rooftop a splitter is required at either end of the block.

12

Fibre cabling to run along the roof within fibre trays. Once the splitters have been installed fibres to be run in the traywork and over the side of the block as shown fixed to the wall with catenary wire in a neat bundle with 5m fibre coils left at each individual properties living room window.

13

Distribution cable to be run up to rooftop via catenary wire, once on the roof fibre is to be run to outbuilding via cable trays and a splitter is to be installed in location shown.

14

Once splitter has been installed fibre drop cables are to be run to each individual property in the same manner. Fibre cables to run through traywork on roof and then over the side where the cables will run neatly in a bundle and a 5m coil will be left neatly at each individual unit.
