IntroductionABBA was a Swedish pop group.It was formed in Stockholm in 1972.The history of this group is between 1972

and 1982.The genres the groups sings are: pop,

rock, disco, europop and glam rock.ABBA gained popularity by using

catchy song hooks, simple lyrics and sound effects.

History (1970 – 1973)

Its first song was “People Need Love”, it was released in June 1972.

This song reached the 17th in the Swedish album charts.

In the early 1973 the group began with its official name.

In 1973 the band composed a new song called “Ring Ring”.

This hit was singed in many parts of Europe and South Africa.

History (1973 – 1976)

In 1973 the group sang in Eurovision and they were the third in the preliminary sound.

In November of 1974, ABBA embarked on their first European tour.During this tour they played in: Denmark, West

Germany and Austria.In the summer of 1975 they did

a tour of Sweden and Finland, this one attracted huge crowds.

History (1976 – 1981)

In March of 1976, the band released a CD with the Greatest Hits.

This album took ABBA to the Top 40 hits in the UK it became the number 1.

the CD was in the Top 50 on the album chats in the USA.

In 1975, the song “Fernando”, was chosen as the Best Studio Recording.

This were the best years for ABBA.

In the band he plays the guitar and singsa little bit.

He married Agnetha Fältskog the 6 July 1971.

Benny AnderssonHe was born the 16 December 1946 in

Vällingby, Stockholm, Sweden.

He is the composer and theproducer of the group.

He is the one in charge of playingthe piano.

Agnetha FältskogShe was born the 5 April 1950 in Jönköpuing, Sweden.

She is the principal singer of the group.

She was married with Benny Andersson, but later they got divorce.
