The Abacus Group has been present in Scandinavia since 1994 following its purchase of Promax, and more recently Trident and Deltron Electronics. Now with seven local offices in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, our aim is to prove ourselves to be a powerful, dynamic, progressive and energetic organisation in the Scandinavian market and to become one of the largest distributors of eletronic components in the region.

Abacus distribute products from some of the leading global semiconductor manufacturers ensuring that we have a wide range of products to suit all applications. Our technical support team work closely with all our major suppliers to provide a high level of design support across our complete semiconductor range.

Passive Components

As with semiconductors, the passive components in an electronics design are of great influence to the application in question. Our passive product line encompasses an extensive range of passive components from many of the world’s leading manufacturers, offering solutions from leaded to micro footprint SMD products.

Abacus distribute products for a wide range of connector and cable manufacturers. Our products include industry standard connectors and cables as well as custom connector solutions, custom moulding and cable assemblies. Our broad franchise base and comprehensive product portfolio enables us to service many industries including industrial, transportation, medical and defence applications.

Abacus wireless range offers wireless and wired communication products for embedded applications in machine to machine (M2M), automotive, consumer electronic, medical and telecommunication products. Abacus supply GPS receivers, chipsets and smart antennas (GPS receivers with integrated antennas) from leading manufacturers Navman and Leadtek.

Furthermore we offer a comprehensive range of GSM modules and wireless and dial-up modems to support your complex application requirements. These communication devices are ideal for embedded applications and many are designed ‘ready-to-integrate’ into your device

To be a successful component distributor in today’s market it is not enough just to hold the right stock at the right price. Abacus consistently looks at ways of assisting our customers with additional services which help the customer to develop their own business by concentrating on core activities and reducing unnecessary stock on shortening lead times.

Two main areas where we can help: Provision of logistics support - offering comprehensive stock management in connection with customer requirements for KANBAN, LEAN, Just in Time etc.

Sub-contract services where we can supply products part assembled or with a process, or series of processes, completed before delivery. Eg. sub-assemblies and special packaging requirements.

It is a fact that in today’s complex manufacturing process there is a need for close co-operation between supplier and manufacturer.Abacus has been at the forefront of developing efficient systems to improve product availability, shipments and stock management by using tried and tested techniques including: Just in Time, Ship to Stock, Push Pull Inventory Control and EDI.

Supply Chain Management

Effective supply chain management brings a number of benefits and has become an integral part of the distribution industry.

We have full EDI capability, with a specialist EDI team working directly with customers at the earliest possible stage and continuously reviewing processes. We ensure safety stock levels are optimised at all times.

We employ a Kanban replenishment system using EDI, email and fax, to ensure safety stock levels are optimised at all times. We are continually working towards more automated, efficient services and improving our review process to ensure we give the best possible supply chain management services possible.

One of the core strengths of Abacus Conelec lies in our full design-in service for the product ranges we promote, including semiconductors, passive components, connectors, cables and sensors. Abacus Conelec A/S develops second-to-none connection, cabling and sensor solutions from simple configurations to highly customised designs. These services include custom connectors, sensor solutions, overmouldings and cable assemblies. Customers are able to consult directly with the Abacus Conelec team of experienced application engineers to identify solutions that meet their individual requirements and ensure the most

The team of application engineers work with the customers at all stages of the design and production process, utilising 2D drawings, 3D modelling & visualisation and CAD drawings to ensure the solution is 100% accurate and appropriate before moving onto the more expensive stages of development and initial production. Abacus Norway AS is a result of the merger of Abacus Group’s two Norwegian distributors, Promax and Deltron Norway AS. Abacus Norway AS combines the semis, passive, emech, displays and wireless expertise from Promax with the emech and connectors expertise from Deltron.

SUPPLY SERVICE

Abacus Sweden is a partner that takes full responsibility for our customer requirements for component supply for prototype quantities as well as for running production.

We offer forecast and/or buffer stock agreements to minimize delivery disturbances, to reduce lead times and to handle flexibility if requested.

Everyone is available to secure deliveries according to agreed terms and to correct any interruptions that might occur. We promote escalations from customers to escalate internally as well as towards our suppliers when necessary.
