I‐INTRODUCTION:

This report shows the cooling load estimation for the BASRAH PURIFICATION PLANT – WAREHOUSE BULDING. The calculation data is based on the design drawings (arch and mech. drawings), The calculations are provided by HAP ‐4.8 software version. The report shows design criteria followed, data base input to HAP , and the HAP files presented on report will be divided to three parts input data space by space , input data to system (Air Handling unit )by system (Air Handling unit ) , and the output system by system . The criteria of system zoning and its relation with spaces was followed according to the tender design drawings in order to compare between the tender handling flow rate and thermal cooling load , Finally, analysis of results shows comparison between design values and calculations output is presented

on a separate sheet. II‐Background:

The warehouse building is two floor building (ground and first floor ); the building zones description for ground floor: workshop, supervisor, store keeper, store room. First floor contains chemical, lubricant and paint store all are provided with ventilation . Direct Expansion Packaged unit and Split Units with Air Cooled Condensers on the roofs. Packaged units are provided at the large spaces (workshop and store room). Split Units are provided at the small typical supervisor and store keeper.

III- Design Input Criteria:

The air conditioning system will follow the international applicable codes 1- ASHARE Fundamentals Handbooks. 2- ASHRAE guidelines "ASHRAE 62.1,90.1"

A- Outdoor Design Condition:

The basic outdoor condition will follow ASHARE climatic conditions chapter 14 – Fundamentals Basrah. Summer Dry Bulb Temperature 47.2 °C Summer Wet Bulb Temperature 20.6 °C Winter dry bulb temperature 3.3 °C Maximum daily range 15.4 °C

C- External Load:

This part shows the parameter used for the loads result from the building facades and shell , The main components of this part is wall, roof, skylight and glass elevation

The overall heat transfer coefficient used o for each item:

External Wall : 1.862 W/sq. m .K Glass : 6.328 W/sq. m.K (BASRAH SINGLA GALZING) Shading Co-eff. : 0.75 W/sq. m .K Roof : 0.265 W/sq. m.K

D- Internal Load : The part of loads considered the internal thermal heat gain from the internal components and adjacent spaces

- Heat gain from adjacent spaces : This amount of heat result from the energy transferred from adjacent space with different internal condition (e.g. toilets, electrical rooms, workshops, stores, ----, etc.) The overall heat transfer coefficient: Partition Wall : 2.839 W/sq. m .K Flooring partition: 2.839 W/sq. m .K

- People Load : The people load results from heat dissipation from people, the occupant load will be considered from the furniture layout on arch. Drawings and the open spaces will follow ASHARE 90.1 occupant load, The below table (1) shows the considered occupant loads at the building spaces and the heat rejection per person

- Lighting load: Load result from the heat rejection from lighting fixtures. - Misc. load: Load result from the heat rejection from room equipment such as (lab equipment, kitchen

equipment…etc.).

E- Ventilation Load : The ventilation load is the load results from adding the fresh air to the system, the ventilation load will be calculated in the HAP according to ASHARE 90.1 standard considering both occupant and space load.
