Car Care Council Women’s Board Awards 2015 Auto Care Women of the Year

LAS VEGAS, NV Nov. 3, 2015 - The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) is pleased to recognize the 2015 Auto Care Women of the Year. Tammy (Chaffee) Tecklenburg, vice president, global sales and marketing operations, Spectrum Brands - Global Auto Care, has been chosen as the 12th annual Auto Care Woman of the Year. Pamela Gatto, president and owner, Gatto’s Tires & Auto Service, has been named 2015 Female Shop Owner of the Year and Vonda Lee, director of sales, retail and special markets, Beck/Arnley, was named Auto Care Woman of Excellence.

The Women of the Year will be presented with their awards during a press conference today, Nov. 3, during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX). The press conference will take place in Sands Expo Room 310 at 4 p.m. followed by the annual WB reception at 5 p.m.

The Woman of the Year is chosen based on her significant leadership and contribution to the auto care community throughout her career. Female Shop Owner of the Year is given to an outstanding woman that has a proven record of excellence in the automotive service industry, and the Woman of Excellence is the Women’s Board associate who has provided recent outstanding contributions to the auto care industry.

Auto Care Woman of the Year

(Chaffee) Tecklenburg has been active in the industry for 20 years and has held numerous leadership positions with increasing responsibility with companies Prestone Products/Honeywell and Armored AutoGroup, recently acquired by Spectrum Brands Holdings, leading teams across finance, sales and marketing. Most recently she was an integral part of the team who built Armored AutoGroup and after the sale to Spectrum Brands last May, is playing a lead role in the integration and development of Spectrum Brands’ Global Auto Care division.

(Chaffee) Tecklenburg has been involved with the Car Care Council’s Women’s Board for seven years. Since 2014, she has sat on the Executive Board and is the committee chair for the Career and Leadership Development Committee.

Page 3: AAPEX MEDIAKIT - The Car Care Council · (AAPEX). The Automotive Communications Awards are sponsored by the Women’s Board and supported by the Automotive Communication Council.

In 2014, (Chaffee) Tecklenburg led the Women’s Board in launching the industry’s first female mentor program. She recognized that there was a common need for leadership development and career planning in the industry and has created links between successful mentors and future leaders. In a short period of time, this program has influenced many women, resulted in promotions and is filling the void of traditional development programs within the leading companies that make up the auto care industry.

Female Shop Owner of the Year

Gatto is president and owner of Gatto’s Tires and Auto Service with six locations in Brevard County, Fla. She has spent her career in the family business, becoming a leader both in the industry and in her community.

Gatto gained national attention in 1997 when she became the first female president of the Tire Association of North America, now the Tire Industry Association. She was inducted into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame in 2001, and her business was recognized as Tire Review magazine's Top Shop Award winner in 2007.

Gatto has been consistently recognized in her community for her business and many philanthropic endeavors. In 2010, she was the Founders Forum’s Entrepreneur of the Year and in 2014, she was inducted as a Laureate to the Junior Achievement of the Space Coast Hall of Fame. In 2016, she will serve as vice chair of the Health First, Inc. Board and chair of the Brevard Health Alliance.

Auto Care Woman of Excellence

After entering the auto care industry as a CAD operator and designer, Lee graduated with a B.S. in Engineering Technology from the University of West Florida and an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University. Twenty-five years later, she is the director of sales, retail and special markets for Beck/Arnley where she is responsible for sales, financials, business channel development and relations. Lee has spearheaded new business relationships, domestic and international, while strengthening current business channels.

Lee is dedicated to supporting women in the auto industry. In addition to serving on the advisory board of AWARE, Lee has been an integral part of the Women’s Board for 10 years and has helped to raise over $114,000 for the scholarship program. She currently serves as the chair of the Education and Development Committee, and this year her team gave out a record $28,000 in scholarships to female students.
