Hello again! 2009…what a

great year it has been for

AAOS and it’s members.

Hard to believe a year has

passed already, but I guess

that means we were having

fun! The Installation banquet

in January 2009 was a won-

derful night held at the Japa-

nese American Museum. In

May, we honored SCCO’s

graduating class of 2009 with

some mouth-watering food

and drinks at Wildfish Grill

in Newport Beach. And now

we are all looking forward to

our Installation Banquet in

January 2010 at a new venue,

The Dinner Detectives Inter-

active Murder Mystery Show

at the Marriot in Culver City.

The Dinner Detectives

has been voted the best din-

ner show in Los Angeles for

the past 2 years now. We

know our members and

their guests will have a blast

as we honor our new board.

The mystery will be catered

to our “optometric” minds,

and we will be giving away

some of the BEST prizes ever

(just a flatscreen TV, Nin-

tendo DS, and ipods to name

a few)! RSVP by January

8th for your chance to win a

46 inch flatscreen TV!

Come join us as we

dine on some delicious food

and drinks while we solve

the mystery of who the mur-

derer is. It could even be

YOU!

Visit their website

om) for more information.

Space is limited so RSVP

ASAP on our website,

www.asianamericanoptomet

ricsociety.org. Any ques-

tions, feel free to email me

as well,

[email protected].

See you at the

show!

Hello AAOS members!

Despite economic hard

times, we are working hard

to make sure that we are

able to continue to provide

updates and events to our

members. Sometimes dur-

ing financial situations it is a

good thing, because it

makes us work harder and

watch our money more

wisely. That is what we

are striving to do for the up-

coming year. We already have

commitments from our trusty

sponsors as well as a few new

ones so that we will still be

able to provide our FREE CE’s,

senior banquet, installation

banquet and hopefully much

more. Of course, we wouldn’t

be able to do it without you. So

keep up the great attendance

at our events and feel free to

tell fellow colleagues to come

and check us out.

Our total balance is currently

$18,392.70. This is for our up-

coming installation banquet

and the various scholarship

foundations that the AAOS pro-

vides. Thanks again for your

support and we look forward to

a great year.

moto, O.D.

Hello AAOS Members,

Another year has passed

and a new one is upon us…

2010!!! Can you believe

that?! I just seems like yes-

terday that we were all wor-

ried about the Y2K disasters

that were supposed to be

happening to all of us at the

beginning of the new mil-

lennium!

It’s that time of year to

submit your membership

applications and sign up for

2010 membership. Please

find the enclosed application

and send it to me at my ad-

dress. If you have any ques-

tions, please feel free to

email me at Kfuku-

[email protected]. Sign up

and take advantage of the

free CE that we offer our paid

members in March and Au-

gust! Also, join us at our In-

stallation Banquet…it should

be a night of fun at the mur-

der-mystery dinner…lots of

prizes and give-aways to be

had that night!

I look forward to hearing from

you all and seeing you at our

events throughout the year. Be

sure to check our website,

www.AsianAmericanOptometric

Society.org, for upcoming events

and updates throughout the

year!
