AAAida Personal social network to extend the autonomy of
elderly people
Introduction
The population pyramid presents a scenario in which the elderly are a significant percentage of the population
The limit age to stand on its own is increasing
An important parameter of the quality of their welfare: personal autonomy
Families are in the dichotomy of maintaining this autonomy, in parallel with the logical concern for their day-to-day routine
Definitions
Personal autonomy
• Ability to control, manage and take, by their own initiative, personal decisions about how to live according their own preferences and develop the basic activities of daily routine (Spanish Law 39/2006 of promoting personal autonomy and care for dependent persons)
Environment
• Roles around the elderly person such as family, caregivers and the clinicians
AAAida
• Horizontal personal social network that lets you know the status of the people who worry us and concern us
