THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OCCURRENCES IN SERVICE AND ONE DURING DEVELOPMENT
ENGINE TESTING OF THE STARTER AIR DUCT CRACKING AT THE LOWER ATTACHMENT
SOLEPLATE WELD JOINTS.
A RECENT FAILURE AT LOW ENGINE HOURS HAS REVEALED THAT THE LINKS WHICH
FORM THE LOWER ATTACHMENT WERE INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED.

INCORPORATE ASAP THE SB RB211-80-B997 IN ORDER TO STOP THE INSPECTION
OF THE DUCT FOR CRACKING REQUESTED PER RR SB 211-80-C092.

FIRSTLY, TO VERIFY THAT THE AIR STARTER DUCT IS NOT INSTALLED WITH
STRESS, SECONDLY, TO INSPECT THE DUCT FOR CRACKING IN THE WELD JOINTS,
PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO WELDS AROUND THE LOWER ATTACHMENT.

- THE MODIFICATION TO RE-ENFORCE THE AIR STARTER DUCT HAS BEEN
