The Pitch
Research and Planning
• The research and planning stage of your portfolio is critical is one of the most important in your project.
• If you research in detail and into relevant material you will be able to achieve a level 4 with ease.
• Your planning must be detailed and comprehensive.
• In order to achieve 20 out of 20 both must be explicitly linked.
The Pitch
• One element of your research and planning takes the form of a “Music Promo Pitch”.
• You may complete this task in either Powerpoint or Prezi and it must be embedded in your blog.
To Start...
• You must begin by presenting your chosen track and artist.
• You must include:• Either a clip of the song, the video or both• Images of the band if they exist• Information about the band, age, gender,
location, group or solo artist? etc
For Example:
My Chosen ArtistThe Saturdays• Five piece girl group• 18-25• No instruments www.unsigned.com/thesaturdays
• Pop • Key Target Audience: Girls aged 8 -20
Compare to a similar sounding artist...
• Find an artist/group that has a similar sound to your song
• Include images and at least one video• Deconstruct at least one video in detail.
Explain how/why they have a similar sound, whether style of the video would be suited to your song? Why? Why not?
• Inspiration for your video (bits you could steal)
