How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?

Evaluation question 4

Page 2: A2 media studies 2

I used blogger to upload information for my research, production and post production stages.

It was good because its easy to use and because I was familiar with it from AS, I knew what I could I couldn't do on blogger and how to work around it by using other sites for my work too.

Planning stages

When I was analysing real media products such as music videos, I used tube chop to chop he videos down to the specific parts that I needed for what I was talking about.

Google was used for researching information on the music industry and conventions of music videos and digipaks etc

This is where the majority of my information came from, which I then uploaded to blogger.

YouTube is where I looked up the music videos from real artists and also past A2 media students for inspiration and just to analyse videos from different genres in general.

Production

When we was filming the lip synching scenes, we needed the lyrics up and the music in the background so we could get it right. Our friend Dereece lent us his iPad so we could do this which really helped.

Like the ipad, the phone was used for the duration of our filming when we were in Camden because again, we wanted the movements in time with the song and so on.

Originally we were given a flip cam to film our video on but we didn't like it so Richard got us his dada digital camera to film on instead which was much better because when we never had a tripod it was easier to balance it on objects which wouldn't be possible with the flip cam.

Post-production/evaluation

For the creation of our digipak and advert Richard used Pixlr because Photoshop was quite complicated to use and since the iMacs are quite difficult to use in general, it would've waste time to now try and learn how to use Photoshop.

The good thing is that the quality of which our digipak/advert came out was really good for first timers. And I'm happy with our final project as it stands although if we ever came across a project like this again, we will create an even better product due to the knowledge and experience we’ve gained form this.

We used iMovies for the editing of our video which was really good because it had a better range of editing techniques which is better than other movie editing facilities. The downside was that, the software hasn't been update yet so it couldn't burn our video to disc or share it to other sites like YouTube or even our phones, so we unfortunately could not put our finished product onto our blogs for viewing.

Slide share is what I'll use to upload some of my evaluation questions
