Arming the U.S. Department of Defense with Security and Performance

Since 2002, the U.S. Department of Defense has used HID Global FARGO®

printers for a number of applications including their Common Access Card

(CAC) program, one of the largest printing programs in North America with

more than two million technology cards produced annually. Our printers

are tailored to the high-duty performance and unique security and privacy

requirements of federal ID projects. The combination of proven quality and

performance with highly responsive support has resulted in a series of follow-

Safeguarding Travel for Millions in Beijing

To ensure the safety of its public transport system, Beijing installed a centralized,

web-based access control system from HID Global that monitors 11 stations in real

time across its nearly 25-kilometer Fangshan Line. The system gives administrators

an unprecedented top-to-bottom management approach with multi-layered

security and failover support, while enabling them to monitor door access in all

metro stations and respond quickly to network failures.

Opening New Doors at Iceland’s Reykjavik University

Iceland’s largest private higher education institution, Reykjavik University,

leveraged their existing relationship with us when they decided to build a

larger, more modern and advanced facility to better accommodate all of the

university’s five degree courses. Reykjavik transitioned from their existing HID

Prox solutions to HID Global’s iCLASS®, using both multi-technology cards and

readers for their 4,000 students. Additionally, Reykjavik’s receptionists utilize

an HID Global FARGO HDP5000 encoder/printer to issue cards to new students

quickly and efficiently, even during the busiest periods at the beginning of each

school term.

schools to colleges and universities that need to ensure campus safety while

The U.S. Green Card from HID Global has set a global, never-exceeded standard

for uncompromised security through more than 12 years of use and over 30

million cards issued. For its next-generation Green Card, the U.S. Department of

Homeland Security again turned to us and our LaserCard® optical security media

in 2010. The new card, produced by HID Global features a host of innovations in

When the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center needed a more efficient and

effective way to check visitors in and out, they turned to HID Global and our

EasyLobby® Secure Visitor Management software. The software allows the

facility, at every entrance. Visitor badges are quickly printed with a barcode for

Located among the foothills of the lush Andes Mountains, Bodega Norton

boasts a magnificent heritage of over 100 years, and sells its wine to more

than 60 countries around the world. Bodega Norton looked to HID Global for

an innovative RFID solution to help automate the vineyard’s harvest tracking

and payment system without fundamentally changing the underlying grape-

gathering process. Our rugged RFID tags, coupled with NFC-enabled phones,

have helped modernize the winery and drastically improve Bodega Norton’s
