With such huge pop stars such as Lady Gaga echoing Madonna in her latest hit Born This Way the return of 1980s in fashion and culture is increasingly strong Skinny jeans and crop tops Leggings and sweaters Oversized glasses Check check and check These are things we encounter in our daily lives The associations between our current popular trends and whats showcased in the musical are crystal clear even to those (such as myself) who were born well after the 80s had ended

Our show is nothing short of an MTV Music Video from start to finish paying homage to 80s icons such as Madonna Boy George Robert Palmer and Flashdance Each number explodes with 80 s energy transporting us back to a time where mullets were cool (they were never coDI) and shoulder pads were a fashion staple In a show thats part rock concert part wedding reception and ali Hart the 1980s comes alive once more

Although the show is heavily influenced and inspired by the 80s the message is timeless follow your heart instead of financial security Whats most important in life is right in front of your eyes - home family and love

WHOS WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW

This is Sarah Andebrhans (Ensemble)first production at Columbia and she is beyond thankful to have experienced it with such an awesome cast Shed Iike to thank Mitchell Emily and Lizzy for their dedication She hopes that Iike her you will unconsciously begin to sing Saturday Night In the City while exploring the city on a Saturday night and that you al so enjoy the Queen of Rock-n-Roli =)

Emile Barraza (Ensemble) is a sophomore in SEAS studying Engineering Management Systems He hails trom San Diego CA andjust can not stop talking about how amazing it is over there In high school he was groomed as a fine performer from four years of singing and dancing with the best Showchoir in the West The Music Machine To ali his Showchoir friends he has a couple things to say he loves ali ofyou and he will always remember the epic years you ali shared He thanks his family and friends for their amazing support Their love and encouragement means the world to him And last but not least he thanks God for His abundant blessings including this opportunity to perform

This is Seana Browns (Dancer) first production with CMTS and she is really excited to be apart ofthe cast She had been dancing ali her Iife including several musical~ but none with this many awesome 80s danccedile moves Seana would Iike to thank heIgrave parents for their wonderful support through the years and her grandmother Annette for always being the best cheerleader in the crowd

Allison Cohen (Set Designer) is a first-year at Bamard College majoring in biology and is originally from the Sunshine State (where everyones grandparents live) Although she has been involved in the visual arts forever this is her first time doing set design and she had a wonderful experience She also enjoys running and pretty much ali water sports especially sailing and SCUBA diving She hopes to continue set design and looks forward to her next three years of college

Corey Dansereau (Trumpet) is a freshman in Columbia College He is from Seattle Washington He plays the trumpet not only in the musical but also in other things as well

Sherrie Deng (Flute) is from Newton Massachusetts and has been playing flute for ten years She has performed in ali ofher high school musicals such West Side Story and Anything Goes as well as for other out-of-school productions such as Into the Woods As a frrst-year ofBamard College she is currently an active member ofthe Columbia University Wind Ensemble and plays chamber music with the Music Performance Program ofColumbia University

Alex Donnelly (Keyboard) is running for president ofthe class of2014 Vote for him

Mitchell Feinberg (Executive Producer Musical Director amp Cugravenductor) is honored to make his executive producing debut at CMTS with this wonderful production of The Wedding Singer He would like to sincerely thank the cast crew pit orchestra and production team for ali their hard work in putting this exciting show together Mitchell is a graduate ofThe Juilliard School Pre-College program which he attended for 6 years studying piano composition voice and conducting Mitchell has been a TIusical director and been involved in many productions in Columbia such as Fiddler on the Roof Company Urinetown and The Secret Garden Outside Columbia and CMTS Mitchell has musically directed such productions as Mame Me and My Giri Songs from a New World(Benefit for St Judes Children Hospital) Lil Abner Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and he received the second piace award i1 the Murry Sat Young Artist Piano Competition Mitchell would like to give special thanks tI) his parents for ali their help and supporto

Lizzy Feldman (Stage Manager) is a first-year al Barllard College Previous crew credits include Let Us Go into the Starry Night Black Comedy and Urinetown izzy is notorious for her chocolate chip banana bread and her bottomless pit of coughdrops Lizzy is also known for her extreme errand-running She could noI be prouder of the cast and crew and hopes you enjoy the show (Specil shout-ott to Emily and Mitchell for III their dedicalion and hard work)

Axel Fougner (Ensemble) was on his way to Conversio Virium when he accidentally walked into auditions and was cast as Billy Idol a man considered by mosl middle aged women to be very attractive Before Ihis Axel used to live by th motto its ali about the hand cream But hey youre not paying him to hear his thoughts on Iife yQure paying him to give you relationship advice And what you need is a prostitu te
