Faculty Club UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO SUMMER 2012 THE PUB AND PATIO ARE OPEN JULY & AUGUST! A Message from our President, Don’t focus on the calendar. Summer has arrived! The patio at the Faculty Club is a great venue from which to enjoy the weather over the next few months. We are also looking forward to making some major changes to the patio latter on. With generous support from the University Womens’ Club as our partner, the Faculty Club will be embarking on making the patio a three season venue. An additional donation has us partnering to make the installation of a chair lift from the main floor down to the Pub. The roll out is being staged so as not to interfere unduly with the day-to-day operations of the Club. Earlier in the year we had a donation of four early Arthur Lismer watercolours which are now hanging in the Primrose Room on the second floor. This gift is a nice addition to our substantial collection of work by members of the Group of Seven. The older paintings in the collection were acquired as a donation from Barker Fairley. If you are interested or know of any group that might want to partner in improvements to the Club we would be happy to hear from you. Best wishes to everyone for a safe and appy summer. Hi, Michele - Our lunch was perfect,
despite the challenging rain and wind storm
outside. Thank you for making the
arrangements and for spending time
showing me around on an especially busy
day for your club. Our small group of 5T2
grads enjoyed ourselves thoroughly,
surrounded by Group of Seven artists and
other reunion-bound guests. The lunch was
delicious and my guests correctly called the
club "elegant."
I am privileged to belong to the University
of Washington Club and to have access to
the the club at my alma mater as well. They
both are such substantial parts of their
academic communities.
