redevelopment of St. Maryʼ’s in the woodThe f irst suggestion was the 'redevelopment' of the Windsor Cour t, redesigning the side area of the grand Town Hall. This street is one of the common use areas of Morley as it is passing from the main entrance of the Town Hall and also connects the Morrison Parking with the City Centre.

TheThe second suggestion is the 'redevelopment' of St. Mary in the Wood Church that located on Troy Hill side, nor th-east of the Town Hall. The Church is one of the most historical and beautiful architecture building in Morley, listed back to medieval times. The Church tower house on the top the famous Pankcake Bell and it has many graves dated back in 1740 on the back yard. Now the Church has been destroyed by f ire caused in June 2010.

The Church is not anymore in the state to be used again as a Church, because of the f ire damage that caused huge damages. Although, some parts of it still stand, reminding the history of the Church. The tower of the 'Grand Old Lady of Morley' dresses the skyline of the area and it would be a shame to let that disappears as the time passes. However, the Church ruins must be pruins must be preserved before it collapses. This is an opportunity to do something with the Church to 'save' the historical heritage of it. The building could be redevelop keeping elements from the excising pieces of the building and embedding them to a new design. The f irst idea would be the erection of Visitor Centre/Museum, not only for the visitors but for the local people as well. A museum thatthat tells the history of Morley and reminds its heritage and how the town came to what it is today. Also a par t of the building can be used as a restaurant and a cafe area for the locals and the visitors to spend the rest of the day. Some of the rooms can also be used for meetings and big events. Fur thermore the outside area can be used as a cafe andand restaurant for the hot summer days and a big playground yard can be added between the trees around the Church. The side that the graves are, can be untouched and well organized, as so many gravestones dated back in 1740 till 1970. The new scheme will give to both the visitors and natives a place to hung out and experience dif ferent activities tthat through them they will be educated in dif ferent aspects of Morley (e.g. treasure hunting, hiking etc.), therefore it will act as a learning centre.

redevelopment of the New Pavilion areaThe last area in Morley weʼ’ve taken into consideration is the vacant site adjacent to the New Pavilion Cinema and the Pavilion building at the end of the queen street. The site is an empty space in front of a car park and the New Pavilion used to had shops in the side of the Fountain street and the rest of the building used to be a theatre back in 1911. Now a days the building is not in used anymore since 2009. The last time it has been used it were for restaurant and night club.

The New Pavilion used to be a theatre building back in 1911. Af ter that, in 1929 transformed into a silent f ilm theatre and in 1931 it became a Cinema. In 1968 it became Star Bingo and the Walkers Bingo company used the building until 1988. The 1990, the building was used for nightclubs and restaurant until 2009. Since then the New Pavilion is empty. This building is a good opportunity for the people in Morley to use it to give new elements to the locals. It can be used again as a cinema and a restaurant to give life to the night life of Morley. To make the local people and people from near villages to come in Morley even the nights. One One other idea for this building is to create a small Mall with cof fee shops and with big brand cloths retails. Those ideas will give the chances to the local people to stay more of ten in Morley the most of the week days, because they will have something to do in the town. TheThe site adjacent to the New Pavilion is an open and unused space in the Fountains street. The space is big enough to be used it as a small green area. A small park with trees and a fountain in the middle will bring life to the area and make the site usable from the locals. The water will give a sense of peacefulness and relaxation to the busy site.

This drawing shows the small park area with the fountain, surrounding by trees. The ground surface is made from wood cladding strips. Grass is planted between the cladding in some areas and thethe fountain in the middle gives life to the site. the waters continues to the ground surfaces in some parts running in between some flat stones. Finally benches are placed around tthe side boundaries

The picture present an idea of a Skate park , an attraction for the lovers of this spor t. The concrete sur faces creates the shapes you need for this spor t and the trees brings life to the entientire space surrounding the slopes.

One other idea for this space is to make something to attract the younger age people. Now a day's more people learning how to skate, as the skateboarding is an amazing spor t for the youth. Bringing life to an area with young people, makes the area unique for everyone.
