First Step (1 Year Plan)

• Demonstrate full capability of UV Laser (6 months)

• Establish a research community and program- individual users from local universities- bridge and joint appointments

• Obtain support for operation of UV facility - initial operating funds from non-DOE sources: $500K to $1M →strong encouragement for DOE BES to support

The Challenges Ahead

• Building a broader VUV science program- user community- funding

Do we have the right approach?

• Implementation of “JLAMP” How do we succeed with BES? Other funding sources??

• Our position regarding NGLS support another proposal? work towards bringing NGLS here?
